Hmm... Dunno what's wrong. I see that the game is still using the default LQ textures. Well try this method:

generic_pvr? There is no such file in Galaxy S2 version. There is only generic.txd and generic_unc.txd.
But if I replace generic_unc.txd with your generic.txd then all textures disappears in game and the ground and buildings looks white.

Hmmm... I don't know. But maybe the default textures of your GTA are already in a higher resolution.

Bro as the one said before: The generic_***.txd method doesn't work. Replace the original generic.txd with mine and not the generic_***.txd smile.gif

I think there is some limit for texture resolution. No matter what size the textures are they will always show 64x64 in game.

You can see them only in the IPad 2 and the IPhone 4S version. There are also the static shadows, the brakelights and the headlights missing.

The lights problem can be solved with a modified gta3.set file.. I saw it somewhere and tested it. And: All lights where shown. But the screen resolution was wrong and the onscreen controls disappeared.

How do you edit .set file?
I tried to put your traffic light set -file in my Galaxy S2.
GTA III starts and it looks a lot better. There is now more shadows and resolution is better. But game crashes after few seconds.
Maybe we could change few settings in set file so it works on Galaxy S2?

UPDATE

Hey guys, I managed to mess around with the gta3.set file. I optimized it for Xperia PLAY, but it should work on any other Device, too.

Its features are:
  • Car lights
  • traffic lights
  • blood (was disabled in Germany - I enabled it tounge.gif )
  • fixed screen-resulution
  • fixed positions of infos like health, weapon, ...

I found way how to get onscreen controls back.
Got to game options > controls and press restore defaults.

Now it's working on Galaxy S2 and it looks amazing biggrin.gif

I'm going to try to make it so my GTA III PC will load the iPhone saves. The Bomb the Base mission is unplayable on the mobile version, because Rockstar f*cked up the sniper controlls.

I'm trying to get the PC-saves working on Mobile version...

But the game always exits atm.

Same here. Im trying to load the moble saves on the PC version, and they dont load. I want to load them on the PC so I can beat missions that are unplayable on the mobile version due to the controlls. An example of this would be Bomb the Base. I just get an unhandled exeption error when I load the save. I am using the moble main.scm. Are you using the main.scm from the PC?

Edit: For those who are working on the gta3.set. Do explosions appear, and do the clouds in the sky show up? Also could I upload the iOS gta3.set so you can enable the effects and fix the resolution on that? The controlls are stuck down in the corners of the screen and I cant get them to move.

Edit: I got the controlls fixed however it crashes after a while, and sometimes the controlls mirror. If I upload my my gta3.set file could you try to make the effects work? I think the game may be closing out because its using an Xperia file and not an iOS one. However I'm on the iPod tuch 4th gen and it may be running out of memory because its only a one core processer. If thats the case could you upload two. One with the resolution, one with the resolution set at defalt. Also don't put on the controll edits because there messed up and they mirror sometimes.

There is no need to. The timecyc.dat file is the same.

Edit: There is a file called health.sc. I wonder if my health won't go down if I rename it. I doubt it but its worth a shot.
