The Last Of Us 2 Being Considered By Naughty Dog

Naughty has said that it is thinking about making a sequel to The Last of Us.

With the release of The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 on the horizon, Naughty Dog has revealed that this may not be the last game from that universe that we see on PS4.

Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer told Videogamer that it would "be a disservice to ourselves and our fans" not to consider making The Last of Us 2.

"I think we always make a smart decision in that all of our games are self-contained stories so they don't have to continue if we don't want them to or if there's no reason for them to continue," Meyer said.

"It really comes down to is there something interesting in this universe we've created that we want to continue to explore? Is it something that we can get the entire team passionate about? Is it something we can get the creative directors excited about and then we could continue it?," she continued.

This isn't the first time that Naughty Dog has commented on the possibility of The Last of Us 2, with creative director Neil Druckman previously saying that there was a 50/50 chance that The Last of Us will get a sequel.

With key members of Naughty Dog currently at work on Uncharted 4, one thing is for sure: it is unlikely we'll get to see The Last of Us 2 for a good few years if the decision is made to develop a sequel.

Funny thing is he's probably going to buy GTA V on next gen.

Sure, cus that Pure Openworld with Next-Gen Enhancements pushed to the next level unlike a Remastered Linear-as-hell game that is The Last of Us...

The Last Of Us 2 Being Considered By Naughty Dog

No news there, Naughty Dogg has been saying they're "thinking" about a TLOU sequel since the game launched last year. That website is publishing old news as new articles to get more views.

If you don't want to face the banhammer like redx did, get out of this topic....seriously. I'm very sure you don't know why re-mastered games come out in the first place.

People have different opinions. I spent last month playing the remastered version of Resident Evil 4, even though I'd completed it countless times over the years prior.

Just accept that people enjoy replaying games that were/are important to them and thus are pleased to see an HD version of their favourite game.

I see a lot of extremely opinionated diatribe around the forums today, particularly in gaming chat, and there really is no place for it. Some people like MMOs, but I detest them and deplore their financial model. However, you'll never see me barge into an EVE or WoW topic spouting hatred because that would be mean, annoying and, above all, f*cking childish. Others would rightly think me an idiot for wanting to play an eight-year old linear horror shooter with a hack story all over again, and I respect their opinions, but I'd be pissed if people were condemning me for my decision openly. I also despise "casual" games with a burning passion, but that doesn't mean I criticise people on the train for playing Angry Birds.

I don't have a PS3 so am not able to play The Last of Us, but I respect Naughty Dog for crafting a strong single player game in a market inundated with games centered on online play. I also admire their decision to take their game to the next gen--playing RE4 on my PC in HD after six years since playing it on my PS2 was great, and I imagine you all will feel similarly when TLoU is out for PS4.

I think making a sequel would be detrimental to Naughty Dog.

TLoU came out of nowhere. It surprised everyone.

That's not going to happen again. There's going to be massive expectations. Those expectations will most likely not be met, and people will be disappointed.

I'm 99% sure the same thing is going to happen to Half Life 3 as well.

Personally I don't even care if they don't make a sequel,

The game holds up perfectly on its own, and I was satisfied with what we got.

The melee combat in The Last of Us is so poor, based on that you have created the worst game idea ever.

Don't think a sequal would be right. The ending while being meh it was a way to end it. I'd prefer a game set within the same universe.

Wouldn't mind another game. Just as long as it doesn't have Joel/Ellie. Give us a new location (doesn't even have to be america) and new characters.

I want an indirect sequel to the game, set it anywhere at all during the 20 year time period that we currently know exists in the game and I'll be satisfied, just so long as Naughty Dog refrain from using any of major characters that we've already seen in the first game, aside from Tess seeing as she's probably got a pretty interesting background and it'd be cool to see her show up in the background of a bounty hunting organization or something similar to that, she needn't make a large appearance but her presence would be enough to connect both of the game's together without it being superfluous.

It's Naughty Dog, I trust that whatever they produce will be glorious and an absolute masterpiece. Also, I'd say the Uncharted sequels came out pretty well.

What would be the point of the story then? A spin off featuring new characters could never live up to TLOU, the game's universe was created solely to tell Joel and Ellie's story.

Ellie being immune is the most important part of the story, and her being the only one immune is vital to the ending. If there really were others immune then the impact of the final moments, and possibly the entire game, would be meaningless. So without a main character that is immune, there would be no point to a spin off.

It's not really zombies. They are similar yeah but not zombies. They are called Clickers. It's people who are infected and the fungus takes over their brains and starts growing all over them. They are still alive (unlike zombies) but they aren't the person they used to be. They can't see anymore (because of the growths) so they find their way about using echolocation. That just means they making clicking noises and use the sound to figure out where things are. So to "defeat" them you need to be silent and try get around them. In the actual game there are two ways of playing this. 1. you can listen yourself for the clicking (hard mode) 2. you can enable "listen mode" which when activated will outline the Clickers so you can see where they are. (easy mode).

i really can't say much without ruining the story. it's kinda like the whole zombie thing that there has been an outbreak. instead of the dead rising it's an infection. the world falls apart and people live in secure communities. the whole story revolves around not trying to finding a cure but the HOPE of a cure. if that makes sense? (i'm really trying not to spoil it). so maybe there is a cure...maybe there isn't. but there is hope.

maybe someone else can explain it better than me but that's the best i can do.

honestly. i think you should give the game a go even if you're not into the whole zombie thing. please don't let it put you off. truth be told i'm not the biggest zombie fan and was also hesitant of buying the game last year but i'm so glad i did. you don't NEED to get the ps4 version. if you have a ps3 then get it real cheap on that. if you don't want to pay full price for the ps4 version then wait until it drops in price and buy it second hand if you want....just try the game out. if you don't like it then fair enough. if you do then...great :)

They are not called Clickers, they are simply 'Infected', 'Clickers' is just a stage of the infection. You have Runners, Stalkers, Clickers and Bloaters. There was even rumored to be a 5th stage according to this concept art:

Aka zombies.

Zombie: The body of a dead person given the semblance of life, but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose

Zombie = Dead. Supernatural

Clicker = Alive. Infected.

So, yeah, not a zombie.
