Got a question here: Do you think I-5 ends in Los Santos, or, like in real life with freeways, it combines with another freeway and then parts towards the north?

In real life I-5 extends all the way from the Mexican border to the Canadian border. So it wouldnt make sense for it to end in LS. I assume it will head into the countryside north of LS

Yeah I know, but R* isn't exactly that accurate and they add twists to everything so I'm just wondering.

Well what we know is I-1= goes possible to Vinewood seeing in the trailerr I-2=East/West? I-5=North?/South? I-? And possibilities of moere freeways

1. 4th street bridge that cross the LA river, if not, it might only be a ramp in the freeway interchange (it's next to the right shoulder of the man)

Los Santos small? It may not be as big as we first thought, but it's most certainly not small.
@FCM, those are the same buildings where the man is staring at the skyline. turn.gif

Sorry for my bad english, i used a traductor.

I think "Los Puerta" is "Los Feliz", which is near Los Angeles. That is where the Griffith Observatory. Is close to Hollywood (Vinewood).

The screenshot of the man hammering down the for sale sign might be in the south bay area of Los Santos, since you may notice some buildings to the left of the old home that resemble the el Segundo skyline and office towers, and north of el Segundo is LA or LSX as reffered to in GTAV.

Actually that area has been discovered if you look a few pages back. It's not in the southern area, it looks like it's close to downtown.
There is a building to the far right of the plane screen before the GTA V logo comes up, and that same building is the one seen behind the house.

Could you please circle the things you see?

The bridge in screenshot 3 has been identified as the Commodore Shuyler bridge, not the Vincent Thomas.

All right, I didn't know it was already identified as the Commodore Shuyler bridge. For those who want me to circle the things I MIGHT have found, I'd like to do so but I can't. Someone told me how to do it but I'm still not able to do it. I hope it will help though by «zooming» in. Here's my previous post with the modifications.

2. I think there is a plane landing on the left and if it's actually the case, there is no doubt the airport the plane is going to land to is LSX, because the location is geographically correct.

I would say this is a good find but, I think that the buildings are to far apart in the hwy scene.

Yeah they seem very distant in the highway screenshot. But I ask again. If these are the two buildings from the balcony scene, where is the balcony then? It should be right behind them. Or is it slightly to the left of them so that the freeway blocks our view?

1. That's a highway overpass.

2. If that's a plane, it'd be crashing not landing as it's nose would be down. I have no idea what that is, but I doubt it's a plane.

4. Did GTA IV have reflections in it's sideview mirrors? Maybe it's a way to make sure the FPS doesn't go to low.

@FenderFlix

What you see there aren't two buildings but one, the green circled part is just a wing of the building. The player is standing on a balcony or roof of the second tower, which is labeled green in the first screenshot.

That's a different (part of the) highway. If you look closely you will see that the highway in screenshot 2 is ground-level, while the one in screenshot 1 is elevated as you can only see the top parts of the palm tress next to the highway.

Secondly, the towers in screenshot 1 and 2 share the same windows on the side, a pretty unique feature:

user posted image

Third the construction site is very close to the towers in screenshot 1, while it would not be if the towers were where you say they were in 2.

The towers just look far away in screenshot 1 because the camera is much lower to the ground than in screenshot 2. Elevation always seems to shorten distances.

On to something else:

user posted image

What's this building, haven't seen it come up in this thread at all? Looks very modern and high-tech? There's something written above the door, but I can't read it. Enforca, maybe you can make it readable like you did with the highway signs.

This brings me to my next thing. It's semi-OT. In these two screenshots looks like this part of town is either not rendering fast enough (the buildings cut off, only a few lightposts are to be seen in the distance) or is this part of LS not designed yet?

user posted image

user posted image

There's a a few unidentified buildings in the second one so it's not completely OT tounge.gif I found a building sort similar to the pale yellow one somewhere in downtown but I forgot to write it down and now I can't find it sad.gif

Cool, it's really far from the 4th Street Bridge though. Guess it teaches us not to expect R* to follow RL too closely.

That photo is not on the main page, might be worth putting it up there.

Too bad Fido. Maybe a regular link then?

@YukiEri

Then how do you explain the identical windows and that the red highway is ground-level while that in #1 is elevated?

In the Santa Monica screenshot the unidentified black building behind the Wilshire palisides building may be the world savings center in west LA.

sarcasm.gif Were people at the end of the last page really arguing about the balcony scene building? Anybody with eyes would know that builing is the same as the one in the highway scene. If you still don't think so, just shut up and take that sh*t somewhere else because you ARE wrong.

Go to 20 seconds or around it, making sure the video is in HD, then fullscreen it and you'll see the building.
This YouTube Video!
Then of course here is a photo of the building. You don't see the similarity, you're blind.

I hope we are going to see a huge freeway network in LS like in LA. Like some said, I don't want the freeways to be dead end like in Liberty City because the few freeways we had were not connected and always ended as boulevards.
So far, what we know on the freeways:

I-5 is named Los Puerta Freeway. It's going on a North/South axis and I think some said it would pass near downtown on the west side.
http://media.gtanet....reenshot-13.jpg

I-2 is named Del Perro Freeway. It's going on a West/East axis and relying on the screenshot, we can say it's going to pass in East Los Santos.
http://media.gtanet....reenshot-30.jpg

So in conclusion, my questions are:

Were these viaduct linked or identified to any freeway ?

http://media.gtanet....reenshot-26.jpg
http://media.gtanet....reenshot-27.jpg
http://media.gtanet....reenshot-31.jpg
http://media.gtanet....reenshot-41.jpg

Why Del Perro freeway is an interstate as in real LA, it's a state route (California State Route 2) ?

Can anyone see what's written at 0:31 (in the trailer) on the freeway signs in the back of Little Seoul and Los Puerta Freeway ?

Do you think there is a freeway between the City Hall and the other skyscrapers ?

It's a little more complicated than that.
CODE
distance to object (mm) = focal length (mm) * real height of the object (mm) * image height (pixels)
                         ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
object height (pixels) * sensor height (mm)

Obviously you can't fill in all those blanks. Even if you took a picture of the building yourself and knew all the information about that picture, you don't know the stats for the "camera" in the game.
