I rpomised myself i'd stay off here but it has been a few months now and those new Images revealed by Rockstar are at least something!

Has anyone tried to pull threm apart yet?

The one in the park may well be MacArthur park just off Wilshire Blvd just before Downtown, but its the image with the Chopper that confuses me. In the background we can see a bridge that looks like the Bay Bridge that leads to San Fran, however the City in that image most certainly does not look like SF! If that city is part of LA (can't see any landmarks to confirm or deny) I don't know of any bridge that fits that image!

Anyone have any ideas where that image could have been taken?

Have a look through the thread before posting anything. You'll see that everything has basically been analysied already. Just abit of advice for you seeing as you are new here. smile.gif

Go to the first page to see all the things that have been found in those two screenshots. We pulled 'em apart alright.

the two places looks closer on the picture is because its zoomed in or edited by rockstar so it won't give to much away , in the game it will look further away then the picture.

and i found about 10 airports in and around la and some hellipeds that might be in the game aswell

Probably been seen before and not to do with mapping, but check out the trainers thrown over the power lines.

This video explains what it means at 7:10.

Rockstar really puts a lot of small details in their game.

Those shoes hanging on the Wires represent the people who had died within that street.
Since the hoodlums are too poor to afford tombstones, they use their shoes.

thats not true.

people would throw their used Jordan shoes (rare and expensive) onto the wire once they were to heavily used and looked grungy and not 'fresh'

this was a way to preserve them and not throw them in the garbage...

Yeah, does no one remeber the ending to 'The Sandlot' where he threw the PF's over the wire?

I really hope a Rockstar employee sees all the BIBLICAL amount of information we were able to squeeze out of a minute and a half of trailer and 2 (probably useless) screen shots.

OT: Do you guys think that judging from what countryside/desert/mountains in the trailer, you could map those points? (a little too far fetched maybe)

Like I've already said in a previous post (in a topic that is now closed), and I know it's already been discussed, but do you think in the 2nd screenshot that Rockstar released on july 12th, it could be Hollenbeck park. Some said Echo Park or MacArthur Park, which are very good «guesses» because they look similar, but geographically, I think Hollenbeck park would fit better because it's located east from downtown (Echo Park or MacArthur Park are located west). What makes me think it's located east is the angle we have on the skyscrapers in downtown and griffith park observatory (if you don't see the observatory, just take the eastern-most part of the shadow of the man on the left and go up straight. It's located over the pink leafed trees and on the left of the green tree).

http://www.gtav.net/screenshots/#397

http://maps.google.c...ps?hl=fr&tab=wl

http://www.google.ca...GE3ICwDA&zoom=1

Actually it sort of makes sense. Vinewood appears to be directly north of downtown whereas the real Hollywood is northwest of downtown. If you were to displace Echo Park in the same way, it would be east of downtown.

The boathouse looks a lot like Echo Park's as well. But I think it also, bizarrely, takes some influence from Lake Balboa (in a completely different location) just because of the cherry blossoms (AKA pink trees).

I read a story online about a couple of kids who lived in the ghetto who hung their friend's soccer shoes as a prank.

The terrain in the trailer is too general to pinpoint an exact location. All we can really do is speculate.

Okay, I have to post this as a direct link to another site because the image is so f*cking huge, but I don't want to make it smaller because it might kill detail.

Picture

Anyone ever noticed those buildings I highlighted in black? It's in that "suburban area" which is likely some sort of merged area between the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. This gives more evidence Rockstar is re positioning these areas as one huge area that is directly north of Downtown (instead of real life, where in San Fernando Valley is almost completely isolated from the rest of LA by mountains with the exception of a small gap between Downtown LA and Glendale, and the San Gabriel Valley which is east). The buildings might be a parody of the skyscrapers of Burbank. A lot of entertainment companies are headquartered there (Cookie Jar, Warner Bros, Walt Disney), so it'd be very important to add.

Alot of porn is made there too. It would be pretty funny to see that play into the story somehow (Like Interglobal studios in VC). And if the valley is just connected to the main basin of LA where would the Vinewood sign be? In real life it is on one of the mountains that separates the LA basin from the valley. Maybe Vinewood will be repositioned and then the sign would be repositioned as well.

I would definitely suspect that the Vinewood area and the sign might be re positioned. A rough map of what we might see:

It does make sense. From what we have seen, the Vinewood and Beverly Hills area has been positioned much more closer to Downtown.

This is the only topic i visit on this site... All the others have been locked.

OT: I'm really wondering where LSX will be located since I have seen little to no evidence showing its area. Might just be a sign of how huge Los Santos will really be.

Would be weird if it wasn't near it's RL position as most of the stuff is. My guess why we haven't seen it anywhere in the distance near the coast is that either the control tower, which is the most recognizable part, is right behind one of the buildings or that the distance fog obscures it, because it's a little bit too far away.

I might found something. Tell me what do you think.

1. 4th street bridge that cross the LA river, if not, it might only be a ramp in the freeway interchange (it's next to the right shoulder of the man)

http://media.gtanet....reenshot-17.jpg

2.I think there is a plane landing on the left and if it's actually the case, there is no doubt the airport the plane is going to land to is LSX, because the location is geographically correct.

http://media.gtanet....reenshot-34.jpg

3.Vincent Thomas Bridge on the right near the red crane. We don't see the bridge well because of the sun or the fog.

http://media.gtanet....reenshot-37.jpg

4.There is no mirror in the rearview of the car (on the right)

http://media.gtanet....reenshot-20.jpg

Hope it wasn't mention before. If it was, just tell me.

Could you please circle the things you see?

The bridge in screenshot 3 has been identified as the Commodore Shuyler bridge, not the Vincent Thomas.

Got a question here: Do you think I-5 ends in Los Santos, or, like in real life with freeways, it combines with another freeway and then parts towards the north?

In real life I-5 extends all the way from the Mexican border to the Canadian border. So it wouldnt make sense for it to end in LS. I assume it will head into the countryside north of LS

Yeah I know, but R* isn't exactly that accurate and they add twists to everything so I'm just wondering.
