I can't edit it either. Fido said something about letting only specific people add to it.

Anyway, if you need the ingame games for some of the buildings I've got some of them on this map:

A small word for those who still aren't roaming Los Santos on GTA Online.

lxr just created an awesome interactive map of GTA V.

We are currently adding every real life building confirmed to be in the game.

That's over 350 buildings so far.

We will constantly update this with ingame pics, real life pics and ingame and real life names.

Each building will have a small information box that will link the real life version to the virtual one.

Go take a look right now and keep in mind that it's still a work in progress.

Looks like I finally found "Airang Plaza". It's on Western Ave between James M Wood Blvd and San Marino St.

Could the church at 1:14 be based on this church in Piru?

location

The window reminded me of the church next to Franlkin's house but that one on Route 68 looks more like it since it's got he paneling and shape. The one next to Franklins house looks like a generic mishmash of Mediterranean/Gothic styled churches in LA, but I think it's safe to say this is the source of the window.

Can anyone get  pictures of the route 68 church please?

@ boxmonster

Nice find.

It's definitely the same church.  The same church is duplicated in Paleto Bay as well.

Trying to find the last couple houses in Chumash, but no luck.  Only found a few duplicates in the game.

The houses on the left are located on the highway in Chumash.  The ones on the right are in the hills behind the Richman Hotel.

I've gone from searching a couple dozen streets in Malibu, to a few hundred streets in the hills of LA.  Great  :/

Thanks, Wayne Kerr :).The church in North Yankton looks like it also reuses some elements of that church too.

Mirror Park feels left out, so here are a couple of buildings I found:

This Cool Beans is based off Intelligentsia.

This run-down motel is based off Sunset Pacific Motel.

This B.J's. Market is a replica of Bob's Market.

Great finds Mr.T !

The interactive map is coming along nicely.

If some of you want to contribute, you can explore the game to tell us the ingame names of some of the buildings ;)

The police station in Paleto Bay is based off the one in Fillmore. The entrance being moved to the side is among some of the differences.

@ boxmonster

Another good find   :^:

When I saw your post about the police station, I was a little bit sceptical at first, so I did some sniffing around Fillmore.

Google street view lets you go down the side laneway to get a good view of the back of the station.  It's definitely the same one.

Like you said, R* have moved the main entrance from the front of the building in real life, to the side of the building in the game, & changed a couple of windows here & there.

I love how they kept the mural on the back of the tiled cell block though.

There are heaps of interesting looking buildings in Fillmore CA, but not too many that match the ones from Paleto Bay.

Now that we know R* used Fillmore for some inspiration, make sure to check it out when trying to ID some other rural buildings around Blaine County.

Here are a couple.  I'm not 100% convinced about the second one.  Maybe it's a mixture of 2 different buildings or maybe it's just been modified more than usual for the game.  It's pretty close though.

Real life.  Medical office at 533 Sespe Ave Fillmore CA.

In game.  The Bay Care Centre & Funeral Home/Crematorium.

Hi Guys,

Of all places in the game, I actually found what looks like my block, my building, the building across my building and the gas station down the street on my block. It was pretty surreal when you consider just how huge LA is and what was used to represent the city of Los Santos.

This is a little different than mapping Los Santos, but here is a video I just uploaded that starts on the eastern side of Franklin's safehouse in the Vinewood Hills, passes the Oriental theater, Michale De Santa's street, Rockford Hills and to the tunnel used in the Big Score and ends up at the Pier.

If you look closely, you can even see a ferrari pull out of pretty much the exact parking space in Rockford Hills where the Buggati Veyron is easy to jack. The beach houses where Lamar and Franklin repo their first vehicles and Dr. Friedlander's house can also be seen.

Hope you dig it.

Hey, yes, I'm sorry, you can't edit the map yet. I've only given the login credentials to three people, simply because the thing still may have bugs, and I want to find them first. Once it looks okay, I can definitely invite more people. Think of it as a staggered rollout of an untested online system ;)

Needless to say, great collection of data. Maybe there's a way to just import it, I'll have to look into that. Also, I realized that the "reverse" map (actual Google Maps of the real-world locations) would be a great addition. But that's for next week maybe...

Found a couple of minor ones last night, both are in Mirror Park near the barbershop and can be found IRL at the intersection of Sunset Blvd & Parkman Ave in Silver Lake. (On the block I live on!)

Edward, we've got 4 or 5 more years before GTA 6 comes out, so there is no hurry.

Sometimes I play the game for a few hours just for fun, then sometimes I'll spend a few hours trying to find a few buildings, also just for fun.  Sometimes I prefer finding the buildings rather than playing the game.

There are still hundreds of houses, buildings & other landmarks to discover.  It will take us months or even years to identify them all.

Every contribution adds to the interactive map, so if you enjoy doing it, then keep on doing it.  :^:  :^:

I don't know if someone already found it, but here is the ingame location of the famous 2405 house:

;)

LOL looks like someone bought it, fixed up the lawn, and painted the house while those tall palms in the back died. :D Nice find. :^:

I just want to say you guys are doing some outstanding work in this thread. Never thought it would live after the release of V. This has turned into that Liberty City Real Life Counterparts thread in the IV section.
