So... how long does it take to drive all around the map? I don't think we've tried to calculate that yet.

Lets say that means to make a full circle on the outermost highways, at a constant speed of 100 mph (= 161 kmh).

*If* the map is 9.6 by 12 km (= 44.5 sq mi, close to Magic Al's estimate, see here and here), and *if* zombie elvis' highway layout is correct (it's slightly speculative for most parts of the map), and *if* my method of measurement is not too retarded (a string of 277 circles with 100 m diameter, ignoring on- and off-ramps), then...

... it takes about 10 minutes and 20 seconds ;)

Well, last time I tried, 100 mph on a golf cart was just as fast as 100 mph with an Infernus.

Not sure if trolling or what...

Because golf cart is nowhere near as fast even to how much is bicycle at max acceleration.

If the map is truly 49 sq miles, then we are talking that the size of the map will be the same as the Little Inagua Island, Bahamas in real life.

It would be cool if Catalina island was included, as well as some of the non populated channel islands. Are any islands confirmed? and no I'm not talking about islands large enough to support a city....

As Magic Al has pointed out elsewhere, only ~40% of the map are land though.

St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands (satellite image) would be a better example then.

How can it be 40% of the map? In that case, we would only see water either inbetween every state/town, or a massive one right in the middle. Alamo isn't that big to take 40% up. It's more like the water is 25-30% of the map while land is 65-70%.

What he's saying is ''at a constant speed of 100 MPH'' means it doesn't matter which car you drive. It can be any sh*t of one, two, three or eighteen wheels. At 100 MPH they all go at the same speed.. which is.. wait for it... 100 MPH.

Nope. It's just that humans are bad at estimating land mass in percent... they tend to overestimate it.

The image in this post, for example, has 70% land.

GTA 4? Oh i thought he was talking about GTA SA. GTA SA's driving could be compared to GTA V's. Since boaty style made driving in GTA 4 slow. I see a huge improvement of driving in GTA V.
