its in the south west of the map. look at the radar

You do realize you could even be on the most northern part of a map and there would still be a North symbol on the minimap... right?

Man.. some of the posts I see you making...

first of all i dont care what you think of me, secondly if it was the northern part of the map why is there a landmass directly north of michael. use your brain.

Well uh because this image is facing southwest (not north like you were implying) therefore you have no way to tell if there's landmass directly north of Michael.. For all we know that could be the ocean on the very far north-eastern side of the map. Soo maybe you should try using your brain eh? derr

just because i made a post about my beliefs on another city doesnt mean jack sh*t about my actual posts go look through some of the things i have contributed to on this forum instead of stupid threads. and secondly you are wrong about that picture being in the northern part of the map

I see it the same as you.
We still don't know what the "?" structures are, but they have caused a lot of speculation.
It's nice to find an approximate location for them. At least we know they are not part of a mysterious 2nd city.
Good work.

mm, nah, look which way trevor is facing in the "camera jog motion" when he drops in the water, and look at the arrow that depicts him. I made this same mistake with the way michael was facing in his bicycling with jimmy shot - the safehouse is not to the right, it's literally in those buildings you can see in the background. the fact that he is on foot and you can see it says it is very close to him, like those buildings that are industrial looking in nature, like an old abandoned mine house or something.

The radar in the boat is just probably a texture (like that maps in police boats in IV), and it looks like salton sea from way high to me.

Yup.

In my opinion the freeway starts running along the base of the pointy red mountain near the bottom left of the skydiving pic.

I think that's it, the buildings do look very similar. Unfortunately the Buzzard is just in the way though. Knowing Rockstar, we will get another very similar screenshot soon so hopefully that will shed some more light.

I am not 100% certain that these are the same building. In the arch screen-shot we are looking at the building at an angle and see a front side and a right side. The front side is straight and windowed. The right side also is straight and windowed.

In the helicopter screen-shot we also see two sides of the building a front side and a right side. Likewise the front is straight and windowed so we are good at this point. Where the building does not match up though is on the side. You do not get to see much of it due to the helicopter but what we do see of it strongly suggests that particular side is curved and windowless. Either the helicopter shot is on the other side of the arch shot, the side of the building changes at some point or these are not the same building.

In the video of that scene you can see some of that road too. My map has that railway going down to the industrial place where we see Trevor diving underwater.

You know what would be nice, since we are getting close to the release date, we need to get the July 30th Map at the beginning and have someone(the creator perhaps) make a GIF that shows the progression of the map since you guys first started to map it out. Or even a JPEG with a collage. It will be very interesting to see the progression. Finally at the end we can compare to the real map.

All of that suggests that the towers in the back are the Prison's towers, and as I feel omawnakw (sorry I am misspelling it) actually showed good evidence that suggests that likelihood (even without trying to do that). It's the only know thing on the map, that we know of, that is that plausible (the Silos are a distant second imo).

I suggested something similar a couple months back. Fido said he cant do it because he edits the pictures instead of having multiple pictures. I've only seen 2 old map pictures.

Just goes to show how accurate the mappers were. The basic size, shape, orientation & features of the city have stayed pretty much the same.
It gives me confidence that the rest of the map will be fairly close to the real map when we get to see it. Of course they can only map what R* have shown us, so there may be some further changes.

The big truck on the right is heading SW, roughly towards Los Santos.

Hey guys, slight cross post from the LS size thread, and just a request from you guys if you can just do me one favor and mark the roads on the blurprint that these ones correlate with? I need the three that have the white lines running north and south (or perhaps they are northeastern and southeastern bound??) I have some guesses but I'm not sure, so I want some second opinions.

Where are these streets on the blueprint map? could someone highlight the two blocks that sit between the three marked roads here or do something similar? It would mean a lot to me.

Thanks in advance, don't want to detract the topic, but you guys are the best to ask with all of  your great work on the layout, thanks again:

Exact location is still not pin-pointed, but it's on the far east side of LS, south of the dam.

The most recognizable building in that screen is the First National Bank. I marked it with a green dot. From there I think these are the blocks you were talking about.
