That's not supposed to be scaled appropriately, right? I mean SA and LC to V.

Look at the north point:

I noticed this too. Seems to indicate that this mountain and screenshot are on the NW corner of the map, not as it is pictured here.

No way that's scaled properly. Unless Los Santos in San Andreas turns out to be same size as Los Santos in V.

How many airports do we have so far? I count two, one in Los Santos and one near the prison. I think there has to be at least one more airport with some urban suroundings. Because there is no point to fly commercial planes from Los Santos to the strip in the middle of nowhere.

That's actually pretty interesting, but what does it have to do with the scaling?

@Stux56 Some people really do throw these around and compare them without any actual reference points, but believe me, that's far from the real scale.

Firstly because SA is this big compared to LS: http://i1173.photobu...exXD94/SA-V.jpg
And secondly, LC is about this big (or smaller) compared to LS: http://i1173.photobu...eRdVHighway.jpg

Yeah, the pictures you provided are much more accurate!

What is this mountain, the one the black arrow is pointing to? Its freaking huge!

The red circle is the top of the mountain that we see from a birds eye view in the trailer with that town on the other side....

Doesn't necessarily mean it is in the north west corner. Could be that the northern coastline in this area does not have a perfect east/west alignment. Could very well be in the middle north part of the map.

I'd also like to know. It's too far back and too big to be the Zancudo mountain.

No it is part of the Zancudo mountain, it's pretty steep on that side and is only as far back as the cliffs on the left of the river.
Have a look at the boat shot at the beginning for a better idea.

So I may be a bit behind, but watching the trailer again I noticed that these 2 scenes are 100% the same location from different perspectives:

Also notice the N indicator on the minimap!

Here is something interesting, the trees on the far right in this image, can be barely seen in the scene with cops chasing Trevor on the 'Bixby bridge' at the mouth of the 'Alamo River'. They look like the same five trees, little one is more coastal, then two tall ones, lasty two smaller ones.

This also means that this bridge is pointing directly North upwards and slightly to the East on the map. There is no argument as the minimap confirms it with the N pointer.

In other words, it's where mawerick_mc placed it on an edited Fido map.

EDIT: And please stop quoting massive images when they are right above your post.

Almost, I think the north side of the map must be more angled than depicted in the current map though, more of a 45 degree sloping angle pointing NE upwards. Otherwise it wouldn't fit with the minimap N indicator.

Yup. The deer are further west along that river somewhere. I don't think it's where the black lines are, should be further away from the bridge.

Under the left of your yellow line there's like a sawtooth edge which must be the vineyards lined up with the view?

I came up with this scale (lower left of the picture/map, white lines = based on the Audi A4, red lines = based on the Audi A8 ):

user posted image
(map by gorgeprofondegta4)

Keep in mind, it's based on car size, low resolution, .. etc. .., so it's a very rough estimate of the scale. (ps.: all work/calculations done in 3d space)

A small update to my previous post:

The green lines show the scale with an Audi A6 used as basis for the calculations, instead of the smaller A4 or the larger A8.

user posted image

It shows, that the green line (1 mile in length) fits to the dotted grid (horizontal grid, vertical grid space is smaller) of the blueprint map. This makes sense since the U.S. doesn't use the metric system (generally spoken) and distances ingame (gameplay trailer) were shown in imperial units too.

user posted image

To check/verify if these calculations are close to "correct", there are at least 2 options: 1 being the tennis scene (if there is a way to messure the tennis field size correctly), 2 being the golf scene with the "168/169 yards to pin" stats and the map in the lower left corner

edit: ps.: another thing to notice about the grid: the dots come in 16 steps till 1 mile is reached , thinking about the different unit systems, this again makes sense, since it's hard to dot 1 mile with yards or feets , instead it's easier to simply use the metric unit meters here, where: 16 dots to 1 mile = 16*100m to 1 mile = 1600m to 1 mile = 1600m to 1609m ; why i thought about this? because when i make these lines in 3D space, i always use 100m * 1.6093(44)km (1 mile) 2D boxes and then make them thinner in photoshop, seeing how the original 100m fill the space between 2 dots, it just sounds logical to me: the horizontal grid size is 1 mile, 16 dots till the next mile is reached, where the space from dot to dot is about 100.584 meters ; why the vertical grid size is smaller? i can't tell

Any idea on the square mileage of what's on the blueprint?

That makes more sense in terms of which way the town is facing. But it could be that way anywhere along Alamo, personally i think that town we see in the parachute clip is in the NW, not right in the corner but definately up there. Otherwise North doesn't mean north....

Are you joking? They match identically! Go and re-watch the trailer!
