You have to remember that Los Santos is NOT separated by bodies of water. If Liberty City was a single chunk it would probably be the same size as Los Santos or just a bit bigger.

Yeah, los santos might actually turn out bigger than LC
I made this using the length of the runways

So after the game releases how long do you think it will be until we have an "official" map size estimate using in game numbers? First day? First week?

Im sure this has been brought up, but is it possible that the blue print map is only Los Santos and not the surrounding area? With the full land map being smaller on the back?

We might get the size of the map before release if the blueprint has a scale in the legend and one of them leaks.

If not, somebody will probably measure it on the first day.

Taking this shot of the three of them atop the Tower:

...cutting them out of the picture and attempting to re-size them to fit the scale of another place like, say, Vespucci Beach:

...or more recently, the shot of Griffith Observatory:

...I think people should get it through their thick skulls the sense of scale and scope GTAV will have to offer us.

Again, I made another comparison with my model to an existing screenshot.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Some of the mountains could use tweaking in height, (the one outlined in lime green), but for the most part, it's spot on.

Good work, wolfbackgames.

Have we seen this mountain range in any other screenshots? Its been a while since I looked through the screenshots and this screen here makes me realise the sheer scale of GTAV.

That is not the right scale, look at the Mulholland Intersection, they should be the same size.

I think you've wrongly connected different mountains with one pink line in the screenshot. I've had the same error, check out here http://www.gtaforums...st&p=1062649580
So you've marked the mountain adjacent to the Salvation Mountain ('H' in GTAKiwi's), mountain 'F' in GTAKiwi's notation and maybe some mountain between H and L-E we maybe haven't seen yet.
EDIT: Your purple line is just an X hill//mountain and not the whole northeast descent of Zancudo. And I very doubt about your yellow line. This screenshot is a really hard task smile.gif
EDIT2: And your green marking is totally wrong, that hills are really very low. You can see all of that by my link above.

so, separate side of the map for Blaine County, or is Los Santos a lot bigger but shrunk down for the side of the map we've seen, like somebody above suggested?

No, the other side of the blueprint could be a zoom in view of los santos and blain county, showing more detailed view - as they said themselves..

Mmmm... I understand that there will be a double sized map (poster) and also, in Special editions, a blueprint that not includes all the information. It doesnt mean blueprint is double sized guys.

Exactly that. The standard poster is double-sided, no word on the blueprint. But it's likely just one-sided based on what we've seen.

They also stated in that Q&A that to search for a non selected character that one would have to look through the "many" towns. So, there is Sandy Shores, possibly the mountain town in the Trevor pics. I can't even fathom where the others are. Or how many for that matter.

Rockstars Ask & Answers

"If I play as Trevor, can I zoom out, find out where Michael is, and then go and kill him while playing as Trevor? #GTAV" @GTALAD4EVA

In the open world, the characters are meant to be living their own ongoing and unpredictable personal lives, so understandably its not always easy to track one of them down in the vast city of Los Santos or the many towns spread about Blaine County at any given moment, but you will be able to find them.

Good news i think and a little hope that blain country is much more then the allready designed map are.

It really is a shame that it's become the new "cool" thing to pointlessly troll/spam this thread.
