I'm tired of people complaining about the map and trying top rationalize it any way they can by assuming its all covered in fog... Just stop it.

And yet they did it in 3 and Vice City, at least there is two or more other landing strips, and if you're really desperate the roads on the Alamo look big enough to make a decent landing. Also, I feel confident that we'll get another moderate sized town with another in the Northwest, and a little less so about a fifth on the upper southwest (maybe not a town though. Mostly this is speculative, and I trust Tim and Dan when they say Los Santos is less than 75% of the map. Anyway, this is wrong thread for this discussion.

To get back in topic, there seems to be an small island off the coast of LSX (looks to be northwest of the airport, but could be southwest), which you can spot in Michael's trailer when the plane is landing. Could this be a Santa Catalina, or just a rock in the sea?

It is definitely SMALLER than I was hoping for, but if we get a HD version of San Andreas it wont exactly be "bad" will it?

I am imagining GTA IV "COMPLETE EDITION" in a San Andreas environment with key improvements made over BOTH games so I am optimistic.

@Libertyking I do not think we should do this at the cost of senseless messages, off-topic or speculation. The higher this thread in the top the more probability of the next zombie invasion.
@luceberg, maybe not a medal but thanks for cookies.
@Wreak Havoc in Los Santos, @zeq2mapper, @The Leprechaun, @RockStarNiko, guys if you're trying to comply with Libertyking's request and to keep this thread in the top this way, please stop. The best thing you can keep it now, if you have nothing to say about mapping, is calm and quiet.

@RockStarNiko, just a little addition to zombie elvis's answer. Here is my old rough quick panorama collage of the train bridge. It is seen that large mountain in the background to the right is Zancudo, because we see the Alamo Sea to the left. And the next image is the panorama from the 2nd trailer posted here a long time ago by jbte (it has a different angle so Zancudo peak - Z in GTAKiwi's map - is not visible).

Read my post again, I didn't complain once. I am completely fine with one city, but if we aren't COMPLETELY 100% sure there's one city then please, DEAL WITH THE SPECULATION. You're tired of it? Find another forum bro.

The trains are probably only supposed to go clockwise, and his is going the wrong direction.

I think you're slightly wrong here. The train bridge have two railway tracks on it and you can see they are used for a movement in opposite directions with a right-hand traffic rule. But yes, Trevor's train goes wrong.

After seeing the last pictures I get to the conclusion that we dont have any information of the north shore of LS, Blaine county Island. The small lighthouse in my opinion, its also on the south of the map. I doubt that we have more than 30% of the map including LS blueprint.

I'd guess that we've seen closer to 50%, although most of that is just broad views without much detail. We definitely haven't seen much coast at all- my guess is that most coastline we've seen is all the same area.

Two tracks? I see one track plus a walkway and railing fence.

Lighthouse is definitely in the east and so we saw northeast-east coastline partly, while did now saw southeast, north, and west coastline at all. I doubt it is a lot of space behind the mountains but it does not mean there are nothing interesting.

@luceberg, does not seen very well, but, you really think that trains in the shots (1st and 2nd in my post) goes in different directions by the one track?

In your map you make the Alamo Sea wider than Los Santos but based on that plane screenshot I dont think it is possible
unless Los Santos is ridiculously small.

The map looks so f*cking small on the screenshot, the mountain too.

I guess everything concerning the scale in the North of LS is not correct. I see the Northern part compressed to 1/4 of itself.

You always fool us Rockstar.i hate u so much.the map is very small there is little space to north of los santos.and there is only a large saltlake and a mountain range there.no forests or variety of landscapes or small towns there.the map is actually smaller than san andreas.you blindfanboys who say that rockstar is hiding something large on east, south and north should know that rockstar is just a company which goal is to make money.its just marketing.but rockstar are fooling themselves.

See the outline of the map.there is only little space left in north, little than the city itself.and there is a empty lake there and empty desert and empty mountains.we are fooled.

As i have told gtav map is small.smaller that san andreas.even if we included explorable interior and water areas.we can see the sea sky limit.there is nothing beyond the mountain range.very liitle space in north of the map.we are all fooled.

but we can see no land behind mountain range north of alamo sea.we can see only the sea.the countryside is very smaller.

The blindfanboys of rockstar should stop blindly defending rockstar.rockstar is not hiding anything to the west east or south of los santos.there is an empty mountain range and an empty saltwater lake with small farmfield to its right and an empty desert below it with some houses.nothing else.the map is too small.

QUOTE (sats)
Too small compared to san andreas.san andreas had 3 cities, plenty of towns, variety of landscapes.gta v contryside is going to be very empty.

QUOTE (sats)
Gta v countryside is mostly deserts and mountains with little vegetation and a large empty saltlake.how they will put details in those empty desert, mountains and lake?

I could go on and on, but it's simple: you aren't funny.

But I do think that perhaps the northern region on Fido's map isn't really to scale with LS, but if I'm not mistaken he has stated that parts of his map aren't scaled correctly. (or was that GTAKiwi dontgetit.gif ?)

"Bigger than San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption, and GTAIV combined". "Three and a half times the size of Red Dead Redemption".

Sure sounds small alright.

The distance from the city to the sea seems correct. What's behind the mountain and how big that area actually is remains mostly guesswork.

Oh, it is a dumb question or I just do not understand what do you mean. It is clear from the 1st and second shots of this my post http://www.gtaforums...st&p=1062646117 that those trains goes in different directions, because we see the same bridge from the opposite sides.

EDIT: @Gifbrah, that's would be cool if R* made a southern hemisphere of their little planet with another huge island but I doubt. At least I hope they'll put a Santa Catalina counterpart but still no evidence of that.
EDIT2 [OFFTOP]: I see somebody have already reported sats's message, but I'm curious why he still not banned? I'm trying to be polite usually, but this fag posts nothing but the whining (he calls it a warning for customers) and not only in this thread. So, my grateful wish, @sats f*ck you, assume that the map is as huge as your dick, even if it sounds not so polite or too childish.
I've put this addition above because that prick did not answered my pm message and whether he still here I assumed that moderators do nothing.
