Hi guys, I worked out the explorable water area (light blue) based on land = 3.5 rdr & explroable water being 1.5 rdr. It factors in the Alamo sea. I know the cvg map isn't as accurate as some of your other maps but thought it might be interesting to see the scale of it least

All these maps are still like, 5 times too small. bear in mind these 'fan made' maps are about as big as Rd Dead's so far.

What about the huge ass mountain from trailer 1? Surely we should have seen it already.

It's the one mystery about the map that's driving crazy.

What's driving me crazy is we don't know whether we've seen Mount Chilliad or not yet

I believe the mountain in trailer 1 is mount chiliad, my reason for this is because i haven't seen any bigger mountains then that one so far or any what look like it!

No. They meant playable RDR not what you can see.

There's these two screens which I'm confused about. They look like the same place, but they can't be.

In this one, Downtown is quite far away. It leads me to think it's near to the beach, because of how far away the mountains in the background are.
user posted image

This one from Trevor's trailer looks similar. But Downtown is much closer.

They look like the same place. Just thought I should bring it up.

I'm 95% sure that's McArthur Park.

Evidence suggests Echo Park is more likely (same boathouse).

Is it even bigger than San Andreas alone?!?!

The only thing I agree with on that map is that they only put one river and not the mysterious second river that everyone seems to think exists.

All the previewers said the map is soooo big, were they all lying or asked to say that by RockStar as part of the deal???

The biggest problem most people have with the GTA V map is that the scale of it is pretty confusing...
Los Santos has roads with 8 lanes but on the released map they look even smaller than the 2 lane roads in San Andreas!
GTA V Los Santos is almost as big as the whole San Andreas if you put them to scale and we still haven't seen all of the countryside and the very south of Los Santos

Yo do realize that LS in SA is only about 1/3 of the size of LS in V, right?
The whole SA map fits very well with the countryside region above the city.

Also keep in mind that this map is taken directly from this forum and is mainly guesswork.

BINGO!

A lot of people don't seem to get this.

The map is just a general idea of the layout.

I believe the playable area of the RDR map is smaller than SA, but the Whole map of RDR is definitely bigger than SA. I really wish R* could of let us play the whole map of RDR!

San Andreas is approximately 6 KM wide.

user posted image

Far Cry North Island is approximately 5.3 KM wide.

How wide is the city in GTA V approximately?

How wide is it from east coast to west coast approximately, from the blueprint map we have actually seen?

What is the approximate length of the map, from north coast to south coast?

The golf course is not confined to the segment you have marked and the segment just south of that beyond the subway/train line.

If you look to the left of the segment you have marked there is a large road.

The golf course extends beyond this road and there are a further 2 smaller segments west of this large road.

I was always curious about this part of the LS Blueprint map:
http://s1123.photobu...a/LSBP.png.html

It seems like there has to be a pretty big part of the map, so I started to look at some of the screenshots that might be interesting.

http://i1123.photobu.../GTAVBRIDGE.jpg

http://i1123.photobu...AVSUBMARINE.jpg

http://i1123.photobu.../GTAVDOCKS2.jpg

(I'm almost sure the Submarine screenshot is real, or it has to be a really good fake...)

This all leads to this:

http://i1123.photobu...01/LSBPEDIT.png

As you can see, there is still some space which we don't see on the map. This part adds to the surface of LS (not sure if this is a good sentence? confused.gif )

I'm sorry if this was already pointed out, but I haven't seen it already in the threads biggrin.gif

One of the things I am most curious about is what is the source of the river/s in the game.

We have seen small waterfalls, so does this mean the source of the river/s will be high up the mountains?

Or will we have the same lame BS like before where source and mouth are both the ocean

Indeed. There's also the fact that a major highway (the one on the far right) can't just end abruptly.
Like SA, I hope they include a large docking island. Perhaps the map will look like this: http://i1173.photobu...antoswDocks.jpg

There's basically this area we haven't seen screenshots or is off the map. Or not part of the map.

There's two rail lines running south beyond the known blueprint so it should be a decent sized area.

Possible rail lines in Los Santos.

Is there a super-clean version of the map floating around? I might try and analyse it a bit more. I don't think anyone has tried picking out railways just yet.
