Could anyone tell where is actually par 5 on the golf course in the Michael trailer, i think that place is on the north side of the course and therefore they're wrong saying the Michaels house is in the background up the hill, it is rather down the hill to the southeast, behind the sierra tower. And should be to the north or northeast of par 9 which is more to the south of par 5. Or i'm wrong?

Hole 5 and hole 9 you mean? Par is the number of swings each hole should take to get the ball in the hole, so there can't be a par 9!

Yeah, sorry blush.gif , hole 5 and hole 8 actually, so where it is?
UPD: I think it is behind that bush near hole5 so we don't see it.

Note sure, but someone was mapping the golf course in the ls mapping thread a while back so whoever did that could proabably tell you!

Your map doesn't suck... neither does theirs. Also they didn't use yours.

Sure they took inspiration for it, and like they said they've looked at this thread and gotten some help for it, but they don't just copy things. Just look at it and it's easy to see it's not a straight copy.
The edge of the maps doesn't match, and neither does the Alamo Sea layout, and more!

Sure they might have looked at some of the countryside roads you drew and followed or drew very similarly to those, but i doubt they copied anything, also why would it matter? There's simply not enough screens/video from up out in the countryside to map it very good, and at the end of the day we'll have the game and the official map.

This thread is fun but it's definitely not necessary, and i don't think people should be taking it all too seriously. smile.gif

They photoshopped it. xrCore should get full credit for their map.

Stop the copyright war. They've credited this thread many times and they said they could add anyone who think is not credited to the final credits. It's just the first theirs version, i think they even should give it 0.1 number rather than 1.0. What is untrue i think that is theirs map "is the most accurate available over the internet". The maps released in this thread are the product of community work, even xrCore's one. Yeah, some guys contributed more, someone less, but the key is community. When the credits on the first page updated last time, Fido?. It would be pretty hard to credit to anyone who contributed here smile.gif Six hundred pages without a one! It is just fun, so let's just keep up good work guys! icon14.gif Less annoyance, more fun! colgate.gif
And many, many cookie.gif cookie.gif cookie.gif for everyone who contributed icon14.gif

I don't want credit for my sloppy map. They can have it all. It's their problem now.

Quit bitching guys... you're all trying to map the same area, with the same screenshots/resources. Ofcourse the maps will look alike if they're all accurate enough.

Either through inside info, or by looking at ideas in here, CVG have assumed the large building east of Los Santos, below the dam, by the freeway is a casino.

Forgive me if this is repeating someone else, but I found the PALA CASINO (link to arial map) is a very similar shape.

http://sab.cdn-hotel...000/050358A.jpg

just a tidbit.

SuccessPastaTime said it can be casino and ChillyPhilly found this one this one a few pages ago. Yours is good too.
UPD: i wanted to say, yours even better wink.gif icon14.gif
Due to it's location.

I do like that location.

Although, I'm starting to reconsider. It may not even be a casino. Where is its driveway? Plus right near a feeway interchange is a poor location for a casino. If this is a 'heist' map designed to fit the theme of V (money), then it's surprising that the map doesn't show a major detail, a driveway for this casino - IF it is in fact a casino.

Michael's house is near the northeast corner of the golf course, near the Sierra Towers look-alike. The GTA 5 O'clock map has it on the hills further north and east.

Some smaller updates in and around Los Santos City to correct a few mistakes and add some new details.

Thanks GourangaMaster, Liberty2k7, mawerick_mc, (and any others I may have missed) for your nice
feedback on my map.

I know Im kicking a dead horse here but I still think there is some sorta small city in that north west corner at first I thought that's where a casino would be but ive seen that listed elsewhere so I dunno maybe its just like a national forest any one else got a better idea?

It's clearly obvious that Los Santos is the size of Bohan. Anyone thinking otherwise must be mentally retarded. Get your sh*t right.

Can the red outline be considered as a city part? If so, how does it compare to LC WITH water?

Three. LSX(obviously) and the airstrip by the prison which was seen in Trailer 2 and Trevor's Trailer.

We also may have caught a quick glimpse of the military base's airstrip when we saw the base in the cropduster part of Trevor's Trailer, but it's hard to tell. However, it is a confirmed fact that the military base has an airstrip so it's obviously there.

You could also say four if you count whatever airstrip we see Trevor taking off from in the cropduster in his trailer, but the camera angle doesn't really let us see it well, so it could be one we've already seen.

The eastern part of the area in red has no lights in the night time pictures, so I wouldn't consider that city area. The blueprint map appears to be scaled at 1 inch = 1/4 mile. That would make it this size:

Choco, with all of the map comparisons you've made I have to ask, are you satisfied with what you've seen so far ?

I'm just curious as you never really post your opinion about the subject all that often.

If Los Santos is the size I have it and it's the only city, I'll be a little disappointed. I'd actually prefer 2 completely different mid-sized cities than 1 huge city. I like variety and I wanted to be able to travel from 1 city to another.

I still think there's a chance that there's a smaller city to the north. My map has approximately 15.5 square miles of land. I believe I made the countryside big enough, so that would mean there's still around 5 square miles of land that could be added to my map. During the previews, the media didn't see the top of the map which means it's still possible something is there.

Plus, why would Rockstar reveal as much as they did if that was all there was? I would think they'd hold something back.

Either way, I'm happy. I feel this will be the best game I've ever played.

So, Los Santos is 1.36 times longer than LC.
That also means that LC is 1.7 times wider than LS.

1.36*2.2 = 2.99 miles
2.8/1.7=1.64 miles.

So the total area of LS should be around 4.9 square miles?

What about the huge ass mountain from trailer 1? Surely we should have seen it already.

It's the one mystery about the map that's driving crazy.

I didn't do an accurate measurement, but the area within the observatory, beach, docks, and the point where the city lights end in the east looks to be less than 4 square miles.

There's these two screens which I'm confused about. They look like the same place, but they can't be.

In this one, Downtown is quite far away. It leads me to think it's near to the beach, because of how far away the mountains in the background are.

This one from Trevor's trailer looks similar. But Downtown is much closer.
