Does anyone know what this is?

No. But I think I've found something else. There are thin white lines on the map. Those could be the Freight rail lines. There's a line on the East LS Side of the river with a branch crossing the river and heads down the center of an avenue towards the LS Port area. There's also a street in the south LS area, near where the Franklin/Lamar screen was, there's a line going down the center of the street that ends at a loop to the southeast. To the northwest, it liiks like it goes either underground or overhead near the freeway interchange seen in trailer 2 where Jimmy was hanging onto a boat sail. It also looks like another line ends at a loop at LSX. Tha route comes from the Vespucci Canals area. That could be the Los Santos MetroRail. The Freight Rail and MetroRail intersect on what I believe to be grade level.

Just to clear things up (but I'm pretty sure that you're not referring to it), you're not referring to the 'height lines' of the mountains, right? Because I've seen quite a few people on here asking why there were so many curly, almost circular roads in Blaine county turn.gif Also thin, white lines..

But I also saw the weird line going to LSX (the airport, for other people), running north-south and having a weird loop at the end. It could be some tunnel system, but it has a very organic shape and it would be harder to build a metro line as curved as the line shown. To be honest, there are multiple things on this blueprint map that make no sense to me.

But theres ANOTHER white line coming from that highway we saw in Trailer 1 with the Caternary. It comes from dead center of that western interchange and heads south. On its eastern end, it comes off the bridge, kinda in a loop and goes to the rail yard area.

A blank space.

It looks like a criss cross of smaller streets/roads if you look close

Forest?

EDIT: It's definately a Trailer Park, Look at the bunches of rectangles and stuff.

On another post people said it was the oil Fields - see screen shot with oil being pumped and city in background - looks like that direction to me.

This are in real LA looks like a bit of waste land - dusty and desert like - could be that type of thing

Is it possible to be a military area?

I'd say it is swamp.

Edit: Google Maps

They concentrated the map on nearly only Los Angeles. So if you see the border lines on the map, there are lots of similarities with the V map. Kinda sad the "suburbs" won't be in. So Anaheim with Disneyland will probably not be in, like many speculated pages before.

Why the heck should there be a golf area in the size of 1/5 of the whole city? You should think before posting. Definitely not a golf area.

If I had to guess, I'd say that is a landfill. I searched Google maps for something similar knowing R* draws inspiration, and I found the Orange County Landfill. I looks pretty similar...roads surrounding it, next to mountains and if you Google it yourself and zoom in you'll see trucks in there....might be an interesting place for a mission. Personally I think the oil rigs is another good guess, but I think those are a little north of this area.

***ON second thought, probably too big to be just a landfill. It could just be lighter colored to signify it's a different terrain thanjust grass, and there's actually a bunch of different stuff in there. It's a pretty huge area now that I look at it.

I've changed my theory. I think its a state park or something. There appear to be windy trails throughout if you zoom in.

You are spot on. Look South West of there, you can see hundereds of oil pumps.

I think the shaded areas represent rough terrain/hillside that isn't counted as countryside. You see the same thing in the Rockford Hills area.

Below is a map of Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. This is the only area (that I know of) that has a cluster of high rise buildings in Charlotte. The entire area within the highway is approximately 1.5 sq miles. I think a good way to guage the size of Los Santos would be to compare the arena in the LS map to either Bank of America stadium in the top orange part of the Charlotte map or The Time Warner Cable arena in the green part right under east trade st. I would make a comparison image but im doing this on my phone.

user posted image

Im pretty sure that if we scale the 2 maps together Los Santos would be quite bigger. What I am trying to point out is how could some people say LS is small when it is infact bigger than a real life city in the real world? Sorry the pic was so big before!!!!

Ok: The screenshots in the LS drainage river (real life LA drainage river) looks like it is near the Amtrak 8th St. Coach Yard. Union Station is not too far from there.
