Y'all would be more appropriate because all deviating map theories are in the same boat?

S'what I'm saying, yes.

QUOTE
Disparaging the LP theory by grouping it with the baseless LV, SF, Bay City theories?

Right where it belongs, until we see some proof.

QUOTE
There have been many detailed posts that support the theories of Los Puerta much more than those of LV and SF.  Anyone who knows a thing or two about video editing and/film knows that content is never irrelevant when centered on the screen as "Los Puerta" was 00:31 to 00:33 in trailer one.  This is especially the case when the camera continuously zooms onto that content as it did in that trailer.  This supports LP's significance and that it isn't "some Spanish written on a sign".

LOL. Are you trolling?

It says "Los Puerta Fwy". As in freeway. As in, "Los Puerta" is the name of the freeway. Not a city. If there is a city called Los Puerta, we don't have even a shred of evidence for its existence.

Going on about rhetorical techniques and cinematic interpretations but your theory is the same old baseless bullsh*t... yeah, you have to be trolling. Or a dumbass. Do us a favor and let us know which.

Trolling or a dumb ass because I disagreeing with you without resulting to name calling? It must be that time of the month for you. Your logic is all over the place right now. This is the kind of middle school sh*t that made me take a brake from the V section until more info came out. lol.gif

If it's not in the game, then so be it. But it's a far from baseless theory. Especially considering that out of 100+ screens and multiple trailers, R* just so happens to not show what's directly E or SE of Los Santos. We've seen no land, no water, no nothing from that region. That just so happens to be the direction of the LP Freeway, its real life counterpart (San Diego Freeway), and the city of San Diego IRL. Just a coincidence right?

...and don't give me that "R* said" bullsh*t because R* has contradicted themselves time and time again. Don't give me that "entire city...fitting on the map" BS either because if R* can get away with making LS 1/8 of the map then they could fit a smaller city easily. Not 100% expecting it, but it's a possibility.

TELL EM!!! I've been saying San Diego is in the game for a while.

There is a problem with your logic sir,
Interstate 5 is called the "San Diego Freeway" only when heading southbound towards San Diego.
However, when heading northbound (as shown in the trailer), it is known as the "Santa Ana Freeway" which does hint at another city, one that is less than an hour south of LA, Santa Ana. Located in scenic Orange County.

Las Puerta, when translated means "the Door" in spanish, though it is similar to the spanish spelling of port "el Puerto" given that in R*'s america the citizens don't tend to give a f*ck about proper grammar when it comes to other languages and given the fact that it's the only north/south running freeway we've seen so far, it's safe to assume that this is the Los Santos Version of L.A.'s 405 Harbour Freeway with Las Puerta not being a San Diego type city, but more likely a Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach type city.

or maybe Los Santos is closer to the mexican border than real life LA

Hmm, "Coronado" is real too, and it's in San Diego area:

This is probably the least exciting thing ever but I spotted some electricity cables.

So there should be a some big settlement further down that road.

Well we know just along the road is the part where Trevor is on top of the train, where the cafe etc with the 'Rocket ship' is outside. So the power cables probably extend to there too.

Yup, that's further back though, I think all of them lead back to a windfarm and maybe a hydro plant in the South East.

I may be wrong, but the railroad seems to go opposite to the electric wire. On the left of the pic, to the hill. Must be something behind, but i dont think it s the "rocket café"

In San Andreas electricity lines were linked to the dam in the third island, remember? Now electricity could be from a nuclear power plant.

Is this correct for the mountains in these shots?

Well..... well no.

It's almost as if you know what you've done wrong but you're ignoring it.

Why would one "pair" of mountains still be left and right of each other on the same side, but the other pair is round the other way?

Oops.

This is more like it, I think.

Yes, but see next to the cockpit window.. to the immediate left of it.
That's the little bit where the rocket is, and where Trevor punches that guy while being filmed by an NPC on his mobile phone

Has anyone thought of the possibility of some of the screens and clips from the trailers being obsolete? Some of the buildings, mountains, rivers, and maybe even entire areas could have been relocated or changed shaped. Im sure for the most part things have stayed the same but I was wondering if anybody making a map has run into an contradictions when trying to match up screens with locations.

Hi guys, really love this thread.keep up the good work! This is the thing I too wanted to ask,for example the huge pointy mountain seems to be even more pointer in that screenshots of the US bank tower where The Trio is at.One of the newer screenshots btw.

Heh I never spotted that tower behind the plane, seems obvious now! You can kind of see the road and buildings behind the rocket cafe from trailer 2 to the left of the cockpit, the rail line doesn't cross the road in what we've seen. I'm not sure what you circled on the left is an electricity tower, but the horizontal part is something unusual.

There's always a danger of assuming things haven't changed, but I don't think we really know all that much to begin with, we're just trying to piece together what's there to see. For example everyone assumed the close ups of the pointy mountain were the same as the one we see from L.S, but now it looks like that's a different, even bigger pointy mountain.

The LS map in the CE is chillingly small, or at least that section. Nonetheless, we should probably try and pinpoint locations on it?

It certainly does look small, but they wouldn't show it all. But I can't see from the mock-up how much more could be added?

I think this is just a section of LS, correct? I think there is more if it's rolled out some more. Let me know if my assumptions are incorrect. icon14.gif

Okay, apologies Knife!

From what I can tell we're still missing a large chunk. I don't see the dam and there's a lot of city between the dam and the CBD. I can't tell if we have the CBD in this map, really interesting stuff though!
