Isn't a stadium visible in the trailer?

EDIT: Found it on page 2.

Wait, they're putting Grauman's East of Dodger Stadium? And they're both like two blocks from downtown. Yeesh, this is making me cringe.

E: Maybe that isn't Grauman's. What's the building in green?

Oh my God, youre right. Epic Cockstar fail. I love how this generation was supposed to be "proper" versions of the cities instead of bigger maps acording to Dan Louser, but all i see is that statement being a "proper" load of bull sh*te.

Where has Dan Houser ever said they wanted to do "proper" versions of these cities? "Closer representation" is what I thought they used?

Even though LC was done exceptionally well in GTA IV it was still missing famous landmarks such as Madison Square Garden, but it didn't change the fact R* had accomplished a much closer representation of NYC compared to their previous attempt.

You just expect every landmark and every street dotted to within precision measurements of the real LA which is not what R* are striving to achieve.

If thats not Graumans Chinese theater, then it wont be a problem. If it is, then the city is completely wrong, not just a little bit different. It would be like having the broker bridge lead directly into the rotterdam tower.

Can someone  tell me what building this is?

The bridge is 4th Street Bridge on the CicLAvia route

But, i have looked all along that road for the building, and further as things are more close together in the Gta world, but still cannot find it.

This bridge runs over the Los Angeles River doesn't it?

The pillars of the bridge show that this is a replica of the 4th street bridge that goes over the LA River.

Ok with the bridge, but what about that white building with greenish windows just next to it in the GTA V world?

The building in the green area I highlighted was was I think appears to be a part of Chinatown, not the Guaman's theater.

The red area I highlighted was just a guess. I'm more convinced now that the following image may be correct, putting Staples Center north of Downtown.

Woah, nice find. If that is the Staples Center (Papercuts Center?), and the plane is coming from the NW off the Vinewood sign, that would put it SW of downtown, which means that everything is where it should be.

The plane is going towards the South West from the North East.
Check the first page. The buildings identified so far give it away.

And if that red circled building is indeed the Staples Center, that would put it NW of Downtown instead of SW in real life.
And IMO, that building is more Staples than Dodger wink.gif

well its the sproof of the city not spot on as long as you can tale its close to resembling LA like they
did LC to NY in GTA IV.

Even if they put it in a completely wrong location, the outlined mass is too big to be the Staples Center, it is probably a bunch of smaller buildings

Could it be possible that Los Santos is bigger than even the trailer shows? I'm referring to the oil pump/drill sequence.

user posted image

In Los Angeles, there's like an undeveloped patch of land near Culver City and Ladera Heights. It seems to be a small oil field, pretty rugged terrain.

I've added a Google Maps Street View link so you can see what I'm on about.

^ Interesting find. I was looking for a location like this.

Do you know any other place with oil pumps? Because the one from the trailer seems to be out of the city.

If anyone is interested and knows how to transfer(sorry I don't) a picture, there is one on page 281 of trailer analysis thread of skyline/oil pumps pointing to two buildings that I think hasn't been noticed before.

Yes. When I noticed them I thought the blue arrow building was the Fox Plaza in Century City but the real life layout of LA wouldn't have it there so it and the white tower are still a mystery.

^ By the distance from Downtown, and by the environment around, probably they inspired by Signal Hill pumps then, and not the one posted before.
Do you know the exact location of these ones?

Never mind. I think I found them. smile.gif

Exactly, it is some Signal Hill type area. I wonder how the rest of Long Beach is going to turn out to look like.

Anyways, I would still like to know what this is:

An overpass? Some building under construction? Some weird monument? I have searched and searched and cannot find anything like this in LA.

I don't know, a building or something like the Metro Gold Line or the Silver Line under construction.

Another thing, just an idea... Not sure... Can it be 611 Place Building?

Architecturally, they look the same, but it seems pretty obvious that in the first image the house is located somewhere on a hill.

I think it resembles a radio tower or a power line tower... not too sure though.

This is what I've done:

http://www.grandthef...los-santos.html

The second part is basically what you all have found, but I took bigger screenshots of the buildings (GTAForums.com has been cited once or twice throughout the text and once at the bottom of the page).

@Koeklin: I added one of your discovery in Part 1. I hope everything is fine, if not, just tell me and I'll remove the screenshot. I also gave you credits.
