Ok, to sum it up:

Grand Unified Theory of (Almost) Everything we've seen up north, so far

A) Very strong. Peak further left in both images helps.

B) Very strong. Many more details match, and fits with aerial view.

C) Strong. We know where Trevor is driving, and we'd *expect* a runway.

D) Very strong. Next to each other in real life.

E) Strong. The liquor store image has a peak where we'd expect it.

F) Very strong. Various people have pointed out various similarities (train track, shoreline, trees etc.)

G) Strong. Same tunnel, opposite ends. Again, the peak further right and up in the second image helps.

H) Very Strong. If you zoom in far enough you can even see the lamp post.

I) Strong. Personally, this is the one where it took me the longest to turn my head so that the perspective would fit.

I wasn't sure about the three mountains as such, but the two points convinced me.

J) Strong. Might take a moment to adjust one's point of view, but then it matches quite nicely.

Big plus: If I) is correct, we'd expect J), and vice versa.

Finally, while the position of the sun is not always reliable, it rather supports than contradicts all this.

Here is a very rough map I've made going by how I think the map layout is, based on the countryside
pictures we have. My layout also happens to be the same as how OUPS and lxr think it goes. So that
looks like its at least three of us that think the map goes like this.

I would have uploaded this map a few days ago, but because I wasn't a member here, I didn't. But I
finally decided to join to post my map.

This map could very well be wrong. But if it is right, then it should give you a rough idea of how the
map fits together with what we have seen so far. The stuff I've drawn outside of the big bright green
and yellow border is just a guess of how the entire map could look. Also this map is not to scale, and
some things might not be placed exactly where they should be.

Could this mean that the dam is on the other side of the Zancudo River (meaning that the Zancudo river connects LS and the Salton Sea)?

On the GTA V Map:

This world -- the range of height and between north and south and east and west -- is huge, and it's a real strength. It felt California. Oceans are there and tall hills are there. We wanted those in the game. For us, this kind of world, that was a big properly-realized L.A. and a huge slab of regionally appropriate countryside, felt like the most interesting match to do something new with. Doing other cities just didn't seem appealing. Doing small towns is very appealing. There's a bunch of small towns and villages and whatnot in there to discover and play around in. Doing other cities, though, felt like it was going to create problems we didn't need. It wasn't going to add to the experience. Of course you could do a game with a bunch of cities now that could be pretty interesting, but we didn't think that was going to be this game. This map is going to be spectacular to people when they start exploring and playing around with it.

http://www.ign.com/a...stions-answered

So how big a piece of the map would we have puzzled together so far you all think? 25% And did we already see towns and villages? I can't recall i did, how big would they be? Some towns the size of Alderney and villages the size of Bohan would be good for me if there aren't any major city's like Los Santos in the game.

AFAIK, you're still working on the assumption that the overpass in the aerial shot is the same one that's in the truck scene. I don't think that it is.

4 sats in truck scene:

You pretty much figured it out!

And from this I conclude, we haven't seen a lot of the map yet!

- Most screenshots are from the same 3 or 4 areas from multiple angles... there's really not that much given away yet!
I think we still have something the size of San Andreas to see

There are 6 there? I'm not sure how you can't see the other 2 tounge.gif By the looks of things the map is looking smaller n smaller every time people piece it together that little bit more

Well I obviously couldn't, lol. Still can't. You could've pointed them out to me. tounge.gif

I definitely don't see them in the truck scene. In the buggy scene...blah, I think I can see the base of the other two as shadow blobs...I can't be sure about it though.

I'm with you on the presumption that these aren't the same ones either. The way I see it is that the satellites in the second image aren't that much bigger than the bar in terms of overall size, which means that if we can see the satellites in the first image, we should also be able to see the bar, but we can't.

Scrap that. I had a proper look and it seems they are the right ones. The overpass and the buggy scenes are clearly in the same area. There are many things that confirm this. The bar might be the little black smudge just south of satellite one.

The reason you cant see them in the truck scene or only the very slightly the bases of the other 2 in the buggy scene is the angle. From the aerial shot it can be seen they are in a wide 'V' formation.
The first 3 are in the first arm of the 'V' while the remaining 3 are in a row moving away from the camera so the first dish obscures the last 2...if that makes any sense.

Good job man, very well done !

But one mistake the screenshot 8 is left of the 7 (lxr and another poster pointed it few pages ago).
Maybe above the 10.

Hypothesis just for imagination :
_Right of your map is Mexico, if the game is based upon immigration, we surely see a frontier, and not mountains.
_The map seems to be smaller than we think but still bigger than San andreas and IV no ?

Great work Kiwi!

I think there's lot more going on on the north side of lake Alamo

This shot of Trevor looks like the far eastern shore. The trees and buildings at Trevor's neckline look like farmland to
me. It's where I think Grapeseed is located. Behind the buildings in this shot would be
the eastern shore of the lake
user posted image
user posted image
Those hills in the background of the Grapeseed line up with those in the freeway pic.
There's probably a road and railroad track running that side of the lake and this could be a shot taken from there before the train gets into the mountains

@TheGreatGig23 - I thought the same thing, but what would a bar be doing that close to either a military base or a prison? Different type of sats maybe? Not sure why that sh*tty bar would have more than one though.

@GourangaMaster - Yeah I can see that -- that could be whats going on. That's why I hate these perspectives! They throw me for a loop every time!

Bleh, f*ck if I know. Now I see that damn power line behind the sats in the truck scene. But not in the buggy scene and the buggy scene basically opens up that entire area. No power line though behind the sats.
