Something i'm not so sure yet.

If the wind turbines are fixed, so they can't turn, their directions can be a clue, it can show a vast part of the map.
I base my theory upon directions between wind turbine and the bridge of the highway.

The spider looking thing at LAX can be seen in at least one screenshot in the distance.

It's not the only piece of evidence, but see here.

Hmm that could be an airport but to me looks more like a port/industrial area, there would probably be a large ATC tower there. Maybe there is one there and its masked by the smog.

Interesting.

Regarding the shapes you've drawn outside the images, I think in the last one they should be further to the left, and in the one above further to the right.

If you're looking for the orange and magenta mountains, you'd have to take a look here.

Still, the blue one is very speculative, hard to tell its actual outline. And lots of mountains seem to have that shape.

What do you think about this line? Is it the Long Beach seawall?

Where is the sea on each side?

If you look at some of the screenshots, you can see the sea clearly behind/wrapping around the hills near los santos, its clearly going to be an island.

I cant see the map not being an island.

Then you can see more than we do. Or this guy, FWIW.

We have pointed out the Location of the Airport with at least 99% certainty, through the above mentioned screenshots in numerous posts. It is there. Believe it wink.gif

A lot of Southern Los Angeles (which was, in San Andreas, Eastern Los Santos) has been almost entirely removed. Don't expect to see large, if any ghettos.

I think the ghettos have been moved to East LS as they were in San Andreas.

This is what I thought, that they had removed most of those areas, but after seeing that picture of Trevor which shows the eastside of the city a little, I agree with kesta195.

Glad you agree, is the picture you are referring to the one where his is climbing up the Vinewood sign? I think the best evidence we have of a large suburban area east of downtown is in the jet scene near the end of trailer 2, where it flies towards the two police helicopters. You can see an enormous mass of lights that stretch far east of downtown, but since it's at night you can't make out any buildings.

If you stitch the first and last frames of the highway exit scene together (click for full size), you still see the radar array, but also the peak on the left, which may be the mountain in the background of this image. It should be quite close to the dam.

Speaking of which: A steep gorge seems to wind down from the dam to the city, see here. The end of that gorge may actually be visible at the very left edge of the observatory shot.

This shot is amazing. It's like a summary of all the stuff we have found over the past year.
I'm currently doing the exact same thing as you but with my usual style with all the headache-inducing colors tounge.gif

This edited shot also declares that it is in fact an landing strip for planes:

Doesnt that airstrip remind anyone of those plane pictures in MP3 that were apparently from GTA 5? I cant find the pictures but if someone can post, that would be nice.

Are you talking about this picture? Another question I would like to know is could that be the cargo plane Trevor drove out of?

I think I'm the only one that actually said that I didn't think it was an airstrip, but a quarry, lol. Everyone else never doubted it for sec.. Still looks too small to me, but in this thread they seem to think it is long enough. Plus, now with your pic. I'm convinced. Like I said these perspectives are driving me nuts!

Cheers.

edit: The other thing that had me confused about it. Was the fact that I thought that the Jeep in the first trailer driving on the dirt road by the wind farm was the same one he parachutes from. So that would mean there's another airstrip (if looking at this pic) north-northwest of this one. Somewhere by the wind farm that he got the cargo plane from. Why fly, what seems to be, such a short distance. Doesn't make much sense if it's in fact the same Jeep. When he could've just took a right at the intersection/overpass there and would've been in the same place.

Yes, thats the picture. The plane on the runway does appear to be in a less vegetated area. Also its plausible that the cargo plan is the same one that Trevor drove out of.
