is it  LS in yellow?

user posted image

That has been discussed before in here. The buildings in the yellow square don't match the skyline of Los Santos. Also the mountains behind it are way too tall/big in comparison to the screenshots we have seen from Los Santos.

My guess is that it is a oil refinery or a factory or something like that.

Or another city which is bigger than those small villages?

That aint happenin brother lol.gif

I think now its defenitly a oil refinery.Where do you think the Freighttrains are going they need to come from some point.I think Big Oil refinery in the countryside where the Freighttrains are coming from

The big structure on the left reminds me of the Mile High Building..

Windows are not shown because the buildings are so far away.. Duh..

***** EDIT *****
Also it reminds me of this view of real LA with the hills background of skyscrapers.

I think its more likely to be a big silo/kind of agricultural enterprise or something like this,... In GTA SA was something similar,....

someone wanna gets his hands on Google Sketchup?

It's a VERY easy tool to create simple 3D shapes in a Landscape.

http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/

We could use that to put down everything we know so far about the map!

waddayasay?

we could even work together on one file! so noone has to do it all alone!

I think the big thing in the background is also an oil refinery or something. Rockstar has been specifically talking as if and sometimes out right stating that there is only one city.

Has anyone seen this bridge in any wide angle screens of LS? I cant find it in any which means it must be a massive city.

Looks like the electricity transport pole, or whatever you call them.

Dont mind the red circle btw, i just copied this image quick from a few pages back in this thread.

If its a electricity transport pole and its that far away you would not able to see it, and if it would be possible then it is far to big compared to the distance.

Some more observations about Michael's House:

The Sierra has a distinct base, you can see it behind the house. A street is leading up to it, and there's another building in front of it.

In the second shot from the trailer (perspective rotated by about 90 degrees), the building on the right side is based on the other high-rise you see in the Google Maps screenshot.

And as someone noted earlier, there's the crane.

There has to be more, Los Santos looks like the size of liberty city and the map would be like LC, San Andreas and red dead redemption together. If that would be true then we have seen about 30% of the map. I'll say there is al least 1 more big city out there.

Not sure if that's so easy to find. It may be a combination of multiple houses, many around here have swimming pools tennis courts. Note the chimneys, and the shape of the pool.

Yeah, I know the swimming pool isn't accurate, but the chimneys are nearly the same. The houses with a tennis court in combination with the architectual design of Michael's house from the trailer/screenshots excludes practically all the other houses in the area.

Even if the in game version isn't an exact replica, I think they've got most of their inspiration from this house.

They didn't say there will be only one city. There will be only one big city which is Los Santos. But what is "big"? I mean no city in California is nearly as big as Los Angeles is, so no doubt Los Angeles is the only "big" city in California, even in reallife.

San Diego has only 3 million inhabitants in the metropolation area, comparing to Los Angeles, it's not that "big".

But the other one who posted the argument with the freight trains could be true. I read some weeks ago, I guess it was one of the leaks of March 2012, in which was written that there will be an oil refinery on which more than 100 NPCs are working at the same time. It could be this one or one of them.

Good finds. There are tons of Spanish & Italian Renaissance estates in LA, but this looks rather similar.
