I meant to say, although it is a great find and these "rumours" sound interesting.. I hope that "Albert" is not the protagonist.. he's just too old for me and more than likely most other gamers. It is an interesting story (if it's true) but more so for a film.. not for a game, especially a GTA game. It would also mean that Rockstar is extremely lazy.. puting Max Payne in the Midnight Club L.A. Map.. it's just a bit too unoriginal for my liking.

so i guess we have our protagonist...

Yeah, all things look like it.

- The R* typical Motion-Capture and 3D Scan of him. (see all the pictures that got posted)
- His Voice.
- The Twitter postings of @jimmytaenaka about him.
- The Twitter postings of @B_Boozer about him.
- The fact, that both Ned Luke and Rebecca Halls (@B_Boozer; which wrote, that Ned Luke is her cousin/relative and so on) are from Illinois originally.
- The fact, that Ned Luke (@boomfatdaddy) is following @RockstarGames on Twitter and sharing his #GrandTheftAutoMemories with them.
- And many more i forgot in this list.

This all and more hints to Ned Luke.

They said CJ voice actor would be in the game. I wonder who he's going to play as. I know CJ NOT going to be the protagonist, because it's common f'ing since.

But who is CJ voice actor going to play as?

oh! what luck! we haven't seen all of this like a hundred times before! : )

Some things are new, like 3 clothes stores etc....

Its BS whats all this crap about mountains being impassable that has to be dumbest thing i've heard. If its meant to act as a barrier whats stopping me from flying past the beach which leads to the ocean which is beyond the mountains. Setting a barrier there is useless not to mention lame, in a gta game I should be able to go literally everywhere the sky and ocean should be the only limits.

Does anybody realize what this really entails about V???
If it is him, why did they "model" the character to look exactly like him??

I mean Niko didn't look like his voice actor... ph34r.gif

I had exactly the same thought. Weren't the appearance of characters in previous GTAs determined by concept art and not the actor's features? I've got to admit, however, that's a very close likeness.

Some of them maybe but in the majority of cases they are modelled on the actors.. Have a look at this video and then see if you want to rethink that assumption:

Also be sure to check out part 2 and the ones for The Lost and Damned and the Ballad of Gay Tony (that one is quite the eye opener).

rockstars technology has advanced 10 fold since niko. theres this thing called change. no company thats prides itself on being a forerunner of gaming is going 2 continue 2 do what theyve done in the past just becuZ their fans refuse 2 move on. what rockstar created in l.a. noire was a new standard in gaming & it would be taking a step backward 2 not implement that creativity in gta v. we are moving 4ward. this game will be beyond anyones eXpectations becuZ of all the new advances in animation.

Sorry, but that was all Team Bondi. Rockstar was not involved with that sort of thing.

Remember, R* stated that GTAV was their most ambitious game to date, so why wouldn't they want to add the voice actor's face to the character, making it more real and life-like to say a movie? I mean obviously R* was impressed with the technology used in LA Noire, why not use it themselves for a game of theirs?

That face is not simply modeled after the voice actor, its captured, look at the dimples and creases around his mouth.
Not saying to the extent of L.A facial mo-cap for speech etc, but that model is a replica of that guys face.

I wouldn't say the majority in IV were modeled after the actors, but I see your point with TBoGT; a lot more characters in that game do resemble their actors. That could point to a trend, and be evidence that this Ned fella is actually balcony guy.

"This Ned fella" is definitely the guy on the balcony in my view. I don't believe (or rather don't want to believe) that he is the protagonist though. I think he looks a bit too much like the character to be the protagonist. The first character Rockstar would've invented was the protagonist.. I find it hard to believe that they held off on modelling him until they found a voice actor. He certainly could be a major character though, probably an employer. All they would need before starting work would be a general idea of the mission givers i.e. "middle aged former criminal in a suit" and then modelled his face around the VA when they found one suitable for what they had in mind. It's very hard to create an elaborate backstory for a faceless model. Of course I could be wrong but I really hope I'm not... a 53 year old protagonist doesn't float my boat at all.

I know baseless speculation is out of character for this forum ( sigh.gif ), but they could've spent most of the development time with a character design but changed it once they hired the actor. The fact people were reminded of both Tommy and Claude suggests that they hired him because he looked kind of like them. As for whether he's the protagonist, I'd say he was because he was the focus of the trailer (the V/O fits with his features more than the other two) and Niko was the focus of the first IV trailer. But there's the fact they gave a lot of screen time to at least two other characters (three if you think that Jerry is one of the robbers in the back of the van). So maybe R* are going to pull the rug from under us in the next trailers. IMO, as long as he's kept in shape, I don't see a problem with a protagonist in his 50s (except free-running will probably be out).

But these rumors/leaks may be accurate. They are from different sources and they are similar to what onlysurvivor said(not that he is right)

Both say the protagonist name is Ray.

Both are different sources.
