So many people dying this year cryani.gif . RIP, Chris, Steve Jobs, Amy Winehouse, Mario, Mom. This was the worst year for me.

Your mother passed? I'm sorry to hear that. A parent can be the toughest loss of all.

I agree, it was far worse than I imagined it to be. Death is a horrible thing.

That is really sad. Honestly, it really is. I feel that a dark period of time is coming for us. I feel that I need to brace myself for some kind of trip or something. Really, it's just devastating. Good people are dying moment by moment and it is being exposed.

Take care of yourselves everyone.

2011 has been a dark time on gtaf so far. Deaths of 2 members who had both been a part of this community for the better part of a decade. Granted, Mario died 10 months before Freak but we only found out about it in July. To have a 2nd death (and it be Freakeh no less) hot off the heals of the info of that is quite a big hit. sad.gif At least Odie and Kutt were a year and half or so apart.

Freak was the first moderator I remember seeing in my early days of roaming the VCS section back in 06. A great role model to every new member. I always knew he was handicapped (he posted his van up in vehicle chat from time to time), but never knew he had MD.

This place needs a memorial for all members who we know passed away.

I completely agree with you here. Considering some of you guys knew the deceased members on a personal basis, I think some form of memorial on this site would be really quite touching.

30,000 posts almost, and 3rd biggest poster in forum history, in 10 years almost, he dedicated a big part of his life to make this forum what it is today. A true legend and a big loss for all of us.

27 is too young. I do commend him for having the great attitude he did - people come in here whining all the time about little bullsh*t, meanwhile this guy knew he was going to die... and ,pretty much, no one knew. That alone is worth a smile.

I'm sure more than the GTAF community will miss ya, Chris. But...we miss ya.

Even though I haven't been here long enough to know him personally, it's still sad to hear the news of a fellow member passing away. cryani.gif

QUOTE (Wikipedia)
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a recessive X-linked form of muscular dystrophy, which results in muscle degeneration, difficulty walking, breathing, and death.

What a sad way to go. I'm an newer member here but I remember seeing him around. He was a great guy, a helpful poster, and even a good programmer. He will never be forgotten. Wow, Mario and GTA3Freak in one year... cryani.gif

The loss of a well known and familiar face. May he rest in peace.

And to think, this year is also the sixth year without Odie. sad.gif

In his last post he was helping someone, it's weird how the other guy will never recieve a reply.

Yeah sounds like the same story as my old 8800GT when it kicked the bucket, it was a Galaxy brand which I believe was part of the problem.

I just got a PM asking me why my member title says what it says, I directed them to this topic. This thing needs more attention.

He was the first mod that I had a run in with, way back in 2006. I remember I made a car customization topic, and he merged it with another topic about the same thing, so being the idiot that I was back than, I made the same topic again, thinking it just disappeared. He locked soon afterwards. Over the 5 years I've been here, I've seen him quite a lot on the forums, though I never really got to know him. Though from his posts he was a really swell guy.

I have been knowing this place for 3 months only. So I don't know much with Moderators. From his profile it seems that he somehow knew that there was a part of him struggling till the day. From his posts and join date he seems an excellent contributor and a good Moderator. GTAForums has incurred a big loss and I am sure Chris wherever you are you might be watching us and be assured that we will never forget you. Rest in Peace Chris. My condolences to your family.
