Chris was 27 when he died on Thursday.  He had a disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

I'm sorry about that. I also know a person who have this disease.

I saw him online, when it turns out his brother reported it, so in PM, October 9th 2011 I believe, I sent this out looking for more info

'Are we assuming that GTA3Freak passed on, or is it known that his "brother" is related the truth when he mentioned it? I didn't see more concrete information other then a few sigs now reflecting it. It's very sad if true, we were on XBL shared friends lists '

I recall a post from Chris, like his signature it was evident that he knew his time was coming, i am sure that is one of the worst feelings ever.

"All those moments, will be lost in time, like tears, in rain... Time to die."

Saying you'd rather die is a bit extreme especially when I'd rather have a chance at a normal life with a face transplant then oh I dunno suffer from a disabling muscle wasting condition that will eventually kill you or any other terrible medical issue with no cure or treatment. Just saying as terrible as having your face mangled, its far from the worse thing you could be faced with.

I think the film 'The Bucket List' Illustrates that point, Morgan Freeman says something along the lines of 'Most people when asked if they would like to know the exact date they would die said they would rather not know.'
'I Thought i was part of the minority, as it turns out it is the worst thing you could hear'.

While i never knew Chris personally and only had minor interactions with him, it makes me sad, so very sad thinking about his circumstances, how it must have been like to live with such weight upon yourself, knowing you will never make it to old age like all the rest.
Seeing people's petty problems would have been nothing in comparison.

Once more i say Rest In Peace, because that is all i can say.

As a fellow Aussie I'm truly honored to get into the top 3 for the Most Respected award for the 2011 annual GTAF awards and Chris taking top honors.

Even though I've posted in this thread before and it sounds like I'm repeating what many have said, but I didn't know Chris personally although I saw the way he touched the lives of many.

Enjoy your award from the pearly gates mate. Wish you were here to share the excitement with all of us. sad.gif

Sorry to hear that. My condolences goes to his family and friends.

Feeling actually a little sad he won't be experiencing V, which he probably wished he could have done, even though it's of course more things to life than videogames.

I didn't know you Chris, but I will remember this thread for you.
RIP Chris!

Yes, He's never forgotten around these parts. I mentioned his added Friend account on my Xbox Live, which when I checked, was still there, don't know if his brother uses his account now or what, though

No. You can't see his last post because it's in administration. It shows 8 October, when his brother logged in and said bad news... sad.gif .
