TrafficLoad is a simple traffic loading fix, for people who have modded cars and get the issue of always the same car appearing. It is also a welcome addition for people who wish to have more diverse traffic and/or want more control of the amount of traffic appearing.

// REQUIREMENTS
GTA IV
Aru's GTA IV C++ Script Hook for your GTA IV patch version: http://gtaforums.com...-c-script-hook/

// INSTALLATION
Extract TrafficLoad.asi and TrafficLoad.ini to your GTA IV game folder. Replace any older versions.

// CONFIGURATION
See the comments in TrafficLoad.ini for information.

// ADDITIONAL CARS
When you have no added cars installed or you are using this mod for GTA IV non-EFLC, no modification is needed.
If you do have additional cars, or have EFLC, you can manually add car models to be loaded. An example of usage. Suppose you have added the following cars with filenames: golf.wft/wtd, prius.wft/wdt and skyline.wft/wdt.
[AddedCars]
Enable=1
Amount=3
1=golf
2=prius
3=skyline

// PROBLEMS
Make sure you can load asi scripts. Check ScriptHook.log.
If you experience crashes and/or texture loading trouble, you might want to try lowering the amount of cars per cycle.

I think the huge amount of taxis due to the bug is more realistic and true to New York when you're in mid town Algonquin.
It's annoying when in other areas of the city though so these fixes are good to have I suppose.

My mod simply loads all cars and some trucks into the game at random. After a pool of cars is loaded, the script pauses for a minute and then it randomly picks something again.

I divided pools in a few categories, so you will see less cars of one type, but more of the other types. Taxis are always available, and sometimes you will see a lot of them (when the pool with the default cars is loaded), but you will never see a lot of taxis all of one kind, there is always a mixture. Cabbies load too.

My game has a few modded cars (about 20 of them) and they all appear in the traffic at times. I have my traffic slider all the way to 100 and I have mods that make more pedestrians and cars load. I tested it: I drove 10 minutes and idled 10 minutes at the intersection near the bridge to Star Junction, the game did not crash.

Oh, and before I forget, you'll need plenty of RAM.

I experience random CTD with this, I'm maxing the traffic and using more peds too.... + modified icenhancer enb...

any fix? it's random CTD but unfortunately it happened <5 minutes on gameplay since loading the game

Are you using 1.0.4.0? Do you mind sending me your script hook/asi loader and whatever else is needed for this fix to be loaded? All the versions of scripthook/asi loaders that I have tried don't work for me. This fix isn't activating.

Okay, I've tried every possible version of aru's scripthook and asi loader that I can find but none of them seem to make this fix work for me. I roam around for 10 minutes and I'm still seeing a ton of taxis and the same 2-3 cars over and over again.

I've placed the trafficload.asi in the GTAIV directory. I've installed dsound.dll, scripthook.dll and scripthookdotnet.asi (when I press the console key I can see that the scripthook is working). But there isn't any message about trafficload.asi being loaded.

New version is up, wait for either GTAGarage or GTA4-mods.com to accept the new archive with both versions and a clear readme.

Might take a long time because I decide to update it because of the feedback on gta4-mods.com tounge2.gif Everytime I update it, rechecking is needed probably.

Any plans for a release that spawns more traffic? Vanilla GTA compared to this has loads more traffic.

I've got 16gb's of RAM to eat, give me moar!

It's a very experimental build so it may crash or something. Please report back if there is more traffic, because I don't see the difference between the original v3, this and GTA IV without mods with traffic density up to 100. Besides, there are car crashes everywhere with density set to 100 tounge.gif

For example, when I see one type of vehicle load, there will be 10 of the same cars following it (I have traffic density at 100, and 6gb of ram, 3gb version of gtx 580). I'm not seeing variety. What could I be doing wrong?

Yes, I have modified versions of carcols, cargrp, handling, popcycle and vehicles.ide. Are these modded files not compatible with this fix?

I love this mod! Not just because it fixes the taxi issue, cause I don't even have it (at least I think so, taxi population is medium on my game), but because I finally see other cars than just the 3 goddamn same driving all the time.

bug report, on airport, various cars spawned instead of airtugs or something it usually does on normal GTA4; and the game crashed when I tried to clear my wanted level (after driving to the runway) using trainer... not sure if this is due to the traffic load confused.gif

can you try this mod on these cars packs that replace 100 cars or something???

and oh I back tracked to reduce the number of cars but in the game I could only get maybe 10 different cars on all streets, I mean I lacked variety, the mod seem to love to spawn stock cars and only some modified cars and then copy paste them to all streets confused.gif

When I try this all roads and buildings disapear. Why is that?
I was really glad when I saw that all the cars were random so it compleatly works!

But because the roads is not there I cant play it. Is it my computer that it is to slow? I have turned down everything to low in settings.

It is an issue with the engine.

Seems like you cannot have more than 40 or so different cars. It will eventually crash once you get pass the 40 car barrier.

Not sure if the problem is only related to modded cars only. Maybe you can have more than 40 cars with stock models (or models of the same size).
