GTA IV Texture Overhaul



GTA IV has some great textures, some photo-realistic textures on buildings and stuff, but sometimes buildings and the environment look too low-res and ugly, which doesn't do good to the game in some places.
So I'm asking everyone to get motivated and do a little to contribute in this project. You can do peds, buildings, trees and everything that is textured.
Mod it and make it better, increase the resolution, make it sharper, prettier, base it on your own photos. It's the only thing that lacks GTA 4 IMO.
ENBSeries is already making the game beautiful, but the textures ruin it.



I'll add stuff as more as they get created.

Holy sh*t! Will you stop asking everyone to make stuff for you, nobody is going to make the Bloomberg Building if they don't want to, stop asking everyone everywhere to do it.

As for the project, it seems like a very good idea, I can't wait to see the outcome of it.

Okay so I tried to retexture Mallorie.
It worked but not during cutscenes.
Might mean that she's somewhere else than ig_mallorie..
Any clue ?

That is no excuse for you spamming up almost every topic (that I see anyway) with the same request.
There is a pinned Maps Request Topic for a reason, take the hint.

I've submitted a report against you for the excessive amounts of spam you just emitted onto the forums.

On topic: @ iclaglace: Are you for certain that this mod will look decent and serve a purpose for those who don't use any graphical mods?

This is a great idea. I know that some textures look horable in this game, mostly the people.
I have a few things I want to ask.
1. Are you going to keep all the textures original, but just update the quality or with some or all are you going to make new ones?
2. Are you going to retexture the insides of the cars? Bikes, Boats, and Heli's are fine. (most of them) But the cars are bad for insides.

Yeah, good question mate ..... i have redone the insides of most cars over a year ago... but then i got into enb and things look different now.... so i will be updating that. i had also done a total rebuild of all the engines/car parts/tires textures as well.... but. again. need to redo... they will be done....soon.....

as for same textures on buildings and things. i think mostly will be a higher res / redrawn version of originals..... unless the original is already rubbish. then a new tex altogether would be the best option....

so. yeah... hope that answers some questions.... peace smile.gif

EDIT - sorry. yes peds will pretty much be just higher res / redrawn textures.. again. unless needed to change....

Mostly about adding DETAILS..... not just spamming the sharpen filter..... smile.gif

i need to know how add texture to a wdr file, because openIV can only view the file, and sperk Iv can only import 512 x 512 ...

follow this:

For MasterKontrol the bridge is at 80% hard to paint :S but looks good ^^

Photoshop to resize, paint and lot of stuff

@ MK : really thanks mate , bridge and station are ready, anytime you can ask to modify what you want, color ect... wink.gif

So ive replaced textures, but there is no import options by right-click(im in edit mode). And i cant import anything back. Im using 0.9.2 version. If i try using any other import options, openIV cant see the textures, cause theyre .png.
And yes, im talking about WDR, not WTD.
