The Children wasn't the best episode. Arya should have put an end to Hound's story.

Skyrim helps a bit... mostly trolling the A Forum of Ice and Fire, but things are obviously slower there too.

I've also been playing Skyrim a bit. Started a new character right after watching the final ep of season 4,Building my one handed/archer wood elf

You know it's bad when you start giving them names from the show/book.

Season 5 should open up with Sandor fighting Franken-Mountain or something.

It needs to happen. I've been waiting for it since I first saw the two fight back in Season 1.

Though it may seem heretical, once season four was over, I started reading Feast for Crows without having read the first three. Only thing is...

Spoiler

I know I could look it up, but I usually prefer personal analysis.

How is that working out, continuity wise?  I would image it's pretty confusing in some parts...
It hasn't been too difficult. The biggest things are that...(I'm gonna spoiler it since some folks are uber sensitive):

Yeah, and those are the small details.  I would definitely suggest reading the first three books, maybe when you are done.  GRRM does some cool things that are left out of the show, Tyrion is more badass and Sam is cooler (in the books he gets the ravens off after the battle at the Fist of the First Men).

If you skipped A Game of Thrones you are missing on some (potentially) incredibly important internal revelations from Ned's POV chapters that the show has not acknowledged in any way.

I'm about to have a second read through of the series, and am hoping to see things like that. Things I didn't see before, but with hindsight being 20/20, I'll get it this time around.

I was wondering, would you guys like to see a prequel series sometime in the future? I would love to watch the events of Aerys Targaryen's rule and Robert's Rebellion.

If the show ever did a prequel, I'd prefer it be in a setting that avoided having to recast a bunch of current show characters as their younger selves. I always find it a bit jarring when other movies/shows do that.

I think I brain fart on those 2 all the time. I also get Swayze, Kilmer, and Russell mixed up all the time.

I think it also might be in part that it's hard to believe that Gary Busey does not have a mugshot.

Hey, I actually think Jason Statham would be a good Stannis...

Dinklage is up against some good performances. In my opinion, that's probably one of the better sets of nominees. I can't talk about Jim Carter or Josh Charles, but Aaron Paul, Mandy Patinken, Jon Voight, and Dinklage were all really good. I think Paul will win, though. Breaking Bad will run the board.

I tend to agree, and am torn.  What a great show, and what a great end (so rare), but this season was so big for Dinklage, he performed so damned well... I'd hate to see it go unrecognized..
