Yeah mnbvcxzxcvbnm , you are right, i mean, El Burro was a major character back in gta 1, he couldn't get so down by the time gta 3 arrived, he was the boss back at liberty city in gta 1, they could have and i think they did replace Darkel with El Burro, and hell, Darkel is far more interesting a character, i wouldn't say f*ck Rockstar, but f*ck the f*cking government who cut this game pretty heavily.

My theory, is that is Darkel who helps you escape prison, not just a coincidence with cartel releasing their boss, i believe, Darkel was with you in the Prison van, and his assistants raided the van, releasing him and you with him, and i also believe that 8 Ball was not supposed to be in the game either, it was all meant to be Darkel, he helped you escape prison, so you have to pay him back, why else would you be doing crazy terrorist missions with no purpose? And why the hell blow up the f*cking bridge?? It would be the only way to keep Claude from exiting the island.

Nah, 8Ball was present in the earliest screens of the game, and in his prison jumpsuit, and Darkel's model and texture are from a later build than that.

All right, 8 Ball could have been in the game all the time, but not as Claude direct frined, he is just a bomb planter, how come he knew so many people?

You should publish those discs if you ever get them.

Are those codes in the GTA 3 PC game files? We can probably remake the missions with GTA 3 Mission Builder and edit the main.scm file.

We have established that these aren't really missions. They're just internal labels. Besides, new intel states he was cut before the missions were ever finished enough to be playable.

Besides, Darkel's missions could be recreated in 30 minutes from scratch by an experienced coder.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers me or not, I've taken a break of several years on these games and modding (and now have to teach myself everything about modding GTA from scratch again, dammit!).

My theory is that any missions that were cut from GTA:3, if they were even worth doing, have showed up in the several visits to Liberty City since then. But MOST LIKELY, they were just crap and didn't work well and that is why they were cut to begin with. There is no other explanation why Rockstar would cut out perfectly good stuff and keep it from the public. That just doesn't happen.

Over the last several years I did time working at Activision, THQ, and a couple other companies and found out some of the sad realities of the business. If we had a release date on a game coming up (SEE: shelf space in stores already reserved for our "product") and some piece of crap thing in the game wasn't working, we'd just cut it out rather than wasting time and maybe blowing a release deadline.

There comes that point of no return when the execs just want to burn the masters and start manufacturing / packaging. When it gets close to that time, it doesn't matter if you find a bug while you are testing or not, 19 times out of 20 unless it is is something that causes a fatal freeze they will just let it go and say "SHIP IT!".

I'd be much more interested in the "8 Ball", "Swamp" and "Diner" missions that were taken out of Vice City before it's release.

They apparently removed the 8-BALL missions because they thought people would be sensitive to them after 9/11. The SWAMP and DINER missions were ones I found out about several years ago when I located some remaining artifacts for them amongst the VC sound files.

Where can I learn about those, I've never heard about "swamp" or "diner" missions and this stuff intrigues the hell out of me.

Can you release some files?

I just finished GTA III again tonight and was watching the credits and (again) saw the famous Bill Fiore as Darkel credit. I wish we had at least some of the dialog, I wonder if trying to contact Bill would do any good? Ya never know.
Most of you are too young to remember but I just found out he was the creepy porn photographer in an episode of Three's Company who tries to get Jack to pose nude.
Cheeky monkey.

At this point I'd have to dig through several hundred of the VC sound files to find them again. I'd say just about anyone with a PC version of the game could do the same as easy as I. As for articles and bits I read published about those missions, those are lost to time as they came out shortly after the release.

Nice thing you found real proof. But were you saw blowing bus full of children, because from that script I only understand seperate words. Does there were children or school bus, and does children have been even made? Why R* removed children if they didn't removed Darkel dff and txd from game?

Just because there was school buses, it doesn't mean there was children as well.
If I remember well, there was school buses in GTA 1, and guess what? Childrens were never mentioned, and school buses never made part of any mission.

Besides, these things are no f*cking Darkel missions. It has been told several times already in this topic. It only proves that rampages were meant to be given by Darkel at the early stage of development, nothing more.

Heh, yeah this was one of my first topics here. Never managed to get that beta mod released though.

Anyways, IIRC it's the main [equivalent file to Windows' .exe] file found the root of the directory, which can be somewhat "decrypted" using an .exe explorer program.

No what I meant were the titles of the missions in those lines of code or not?

There are no missions, these are just rampages - which as SilentPL said, were Darkel missions in the beta stages of the game. So there aren't any names, as far as I know.

I'm gonna try to find something in 'american.gxt/TEXT'. I'm not sure will I find something or not but it's still worth to try it.

There are indeed darkel missions, anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves, no matter what lies R* can drum up to the contrary.
