Finally Found Darkel Missions!

I was searching in the PS2 version of GTA III when I found darkel missions!!! not only darkel missions, but many other missions that were not released!!! But it is written in a strange way, and for now here is a mission (where you blow the school bus) - REMEMBER, i found it like this:

its the main ps2 game file in the root folder.

That looks like model coordinate and physics code, yet it's very interesting. Good find, though what does trees in wind have to do with it...? Has to be physics code.

Well I don't want to post too many missions cause actually i'm making a Beta mod w/ a team and we made beta radios, buildings, peds, lots of things, and of course we want to make the missions in our mod.

Also "oddjobs" were served by darkel - check out the full video - there was a garage for that purpose wink.gif

Everything about oddjobs comes from Gouranga and other old webzines.

Well as I said I'm making a mod of the beta (Thread Soon), and I went too far (Peds, cars, buildings, RADIOS, even CARTOONISH GRAPHICS) and I want to put them in the mod, so no need for releasing them all, but if you want I can post another one.

Hi everyone.
I’ve been reading through all the detective work that’s been done by you all so far and to be honest you should all be working for the FBI with the effort you’ve all put in regarding Darkel. I only really found out about the whole thing a few months ago and I’ve read a fair bit in these forums about it so I thought I’d chip in with my ideas.
Even when I first played GTA3 back when it came out there was something about the Diablos that didn’t seem right, like they weren’t a ‘proper’ gang like the others, which has made me think that maybe they were originally Darkels gang. Perhaps when Rockstar decided to take him out of the game they thought ‘why don’t we put that guy from the old game in instead?’ (I believe El Burro was in GTA1 or 2 if I remember correctly).
There are a few reasons for my thinking, mainly because (a) the Diablo ‘turf’ is so close to the Tunnel containing the four Molotov tramps, (b) as far as I know you never actually SEE El Burro apart from the loading screen cartoon (maybe they didn’t have time to program his character into the gameplay), © El Burro’s ‘porn empire’ storyline seems a bit weak and… um.. crap, like the reasons that he wants you to kill all of these gang members aren’t really very believable, as if it was the first thing that they could think of, and (d) all of El Burro’s missions could so easily be the rumoured ‘Darkel missions’ (with a bit of adjusting). I will explain:

Mission: ‘Turismo’
Real mission: Answer phone, get told to get a car and go to the blue marker for race, win race (hopefully).
Possible Darkel mission: Answer phone or meet Darkel, get told to find a school bus and rig it with a bomb from 8 Ball OR just pick it up from 8 Ball ready to go (there are a lot of school bus shells near his garage), park up on the same blue marker as the proper mission (next to the Old School Hall, which I believe used to be a proper school in the original screenshots), let students board bus, get out, BOOM!

Mission: ‘I Scream, You Scream’ (I think this one was confirmed as one of Darkel’s unused missions from what I’ve read.)
Real mission: Answer phone, get bomb and ice cream truck, park up and activate jingle, wait for gang members to crowd around, then BOOM!....Again….
Possible Darkel Mission: Exactly the same but instead of gang members they could just be pedestrians (or business men in suits to fit in with Darkel’s storyline).

Mission: ‘Trial By Fire’
Real Mission: Answer phone, get told to kill 25 Triads with a flamethrower for a really pathetically weak reason, um… do it.
Possible Darkel Mission: Answer phone etc etc….but instead of Triads, it could be just pedestrians or shoppers or workers or whoever else Darkel hates…..

Mission: ‘Big n Veiny’
Real Mission: Phone, get told stuff, follow a junkie, collect stuff he drops…….yeah I’m getting bored now too……
Possible Darkel Mission: ok….so I haven’t actually thought of this one yet….but… y’know….the XXX mags could easily be something else a bit more ‘trampy’…….the driver could even be a drunk member of Darkel’s gang that’s gone off the rails and needs teaching a lesson. You can see what I mean though.

Why should they? I think after that the game will lose it's mystery aura... Plus, Rockstar has another games to take care about. GTA:IIII and the era is done now, as they stated.

Yeah! This is the first FACT of the excistence of the Darkel's missions. Everything else untill now were rumours and myths. Now this is a real fact - the only thing that you can believe in! Very good job man!

Sorry to rain on your parade here, but what you have found is simply debug labels from the internal code.

Where it says CDarkel, that is the class name, with whatever is before the __ being the function name within the class. (ModelToKill3__7CDarkel translates to CDarkel::ModelToKill3)
I came across a lot of the CDarkel functions when reversing GTA3 and all it is is a container for all the rampage side missions.

While this does support that Darkel did give out these sorts of missions, it just shows when R* pulled him out the game, they couldn't be bothered to change the class name for it (and no point really)

I have looked into the internals of GTA3 a lot and i'm sorry to say there are no left over missions, just fragments of things which were originally in the game.
