Hey,

so I've decided it's time to make a topic for my handling mods, since I've made quite a few updates. For people who don't know what I'm on about, I make handling mods for smokey8808's cars and a few handlings for Lt.Caine's and Bugz's police cars.

My handling mods feature:
- correct 0-100 km/h times
- correct 0-200 km/h times
- correct 100-0 km/h times (braking)
- correct gear ratios (car changes gear at the same speed like the real one)
- correct wheel drive (with correct drive ratio where possible)
- car's cornering performance based on videos
- realistic suspension (no more goddamn bodyroll on a supercar)

Hmm I dont have many of those cars but the CTSV I think is good, it seems a wheebit stiffer now but has good control and i think its stopping better, has more wheelspin..
The Zonda I dint have b4 but I think it needs more braking for what would be a sporty and light car and the car seems to take abit too much air, need more downforce tounge.gif or whatever the closest equiv to that is in GTA ..
Sighhh, I miss those Gran Turismo days (w/ sharkport and MK's garage editor), i had a Zonda race car w/ over 4000hp, did over 320mph, hit over 100mph in about 1.5 seconds, and stopt on a dime w/ 9 cent change tounge2.gif The fastest i made was a RUF (Porsche) went just over 800mph on the test track, snded like a dentist drill lol.gif

Ah yeah downforce. That's a parameter I can't modify unfortunately. Even if I increase the drag crazy (like usually I use 0.33 for drag coeff, but the formula 1 has 2.0) it'll just slow down the cars at high speed while it gives no downforce at all. About the braking, there were some tests about the zonda, that 100-0 km/h time is 2 seconds dead. And well my car did that same time, so I don't think I'll change that.
As for the CTS-V, yeah I've changed the grip a bit, cuz lot of tests could only get a 0-60 time of 4.1 and stuff like that, and also you can enjoy the car a bit more in corners (drifting action biggrin.gif ). If I remember well gear ratios haven't been changed, but now there's 1 less gear (only 5 instead of 6), because you can reach 288 Km/h in 5th gear (so there's no need for 6th).

Oh and if you need a crazy ass handling, try the Formula 1 (Scuderia Ferrari F2010). 0-60 takes 1.7 seconds and it grips like a bitch. I based it on onboard videos with speedometer from F1.

I dont drift! turn.gif but its not too much for us non-drifters biggrin.gif
ehh, well ok i thought u would go for abit more performance w/ the Zonda. I mean 100kph is only around 62mph, I can go that fast in reverse in that car tounge.gif
I am usually hitting speeds over 225kph (140+mph), driving on the highway w/ lil traffic, u are often 80-100+mph. I dint try to do any calculations on how many secs to zero etc but it just seems like the Zonda doesnt stop much better than the CTSV ..
Ok just did a quick test and u know the long stretch of road from middle park area going to alderny city, alderny city is where that raised highway begins, well i got on that driving back towards middle park, I got CTSV and Zonda up to around 107mph (172.2 kph) and hit the brakes in both cars at that stop light/crosswalk, the first intersection u come to in alderney where the raised highway ends and both cars stopt at almost the same exact spot, as soon as u proceed through that intersection there are green signs overhead that says "ahead algonquin", they both stopt right there at those signs, u would expect the exotic *race-like* car to do better ..
Just GUESSING, I would say the CTSV realistically weighs proly 4000-5000+ lbs, whereas that Zonda might be nearer to 2000 lbs +/- ... it should surely have better equipment and stop better, the accel i dont have complaints it def gets goin better/faster than CTSV ..
The F1 well i guess is fun to play around w/ but doesnt fit as it should def be on a race track .. I dont tend to put actual race/offroad cars ingame.

It's cool that you're trying to simulate the real car's handling ingame, but does it also handle nicely?

Well I never test where they stop, I only use a timer. What I know for sure is that the zonda stops from 100-0 Km/h in 2 seconds, where the CTS-V stops in like 2.5 or something like that. Don't forget the CTS-V is not just an ordinary cadillac. If you think about it it has a 0-60 time of a Ferrari F430 which is an achievement. Also it handles so rediculosely good that it can outperform some supercars.
Anyway the Zonda weighs 1210 Kg (like a pillow) where the CTS-V weighs 1850 kg. Sure weight does count, but not that much. I've seen SUVs going from 100 to 0 km/h in 3 seconds, and an SUV is over 2 tonnes, and also it wasn't even made to do this.
Also I think edmund's releases videos where they test 60-0 mph in cars, so what I just do is grab the timer and count biggrin.gif

In this video I counted like 2.3 seconds from 60-0 mph.

@Puma

Yeah that's another thing I really want to achieve, not just realistic handling for the cars, but an enjoyable ride. For high-end supercars like the LP670-4, I tried to make them turn really sharp, but for GT cars and sedans I tried to give it a nice cruiser feeling, so even if you drive slow, it's easy to turn in a corner (like the 300C).
Well what can I say if you want a nice cruiser, don't go for the F1 lol

k, well thats pretty much my result then, as it isnt ALOT of diff in 2-2.5 secs .. I dint check the website which i could but i was quite close to their weights cause in lbs, your figures are Zonda= 2662 lbs CTSV= 4070 lbs
I know CTSV isnt ordinary, I want 1 tounge.gif I seen the new coupe too, loox nice! I remember reading they had over 550hp The Zonda has closer to 700hp but weighs almost half, eventho the CTSV isnt just ordinary car it loox wayyy more like an ordinary one tho compared to the Zonda Roadster ... so i figured it should surely perform better especially w/ price near $2 million US ..

Btw, I tried tinkering w/ some settings, I noticed the traction curves def have a real effect on drivability AND on the potential for cars to flip .. just reminded me of when ppl released models that flip n we change usually COM-Z value..
I also see how u can change drive FWD/RWD/AWD but is there values for how to adjust the power delivered to front/rear ?
I know FWD/AWD really want to under-steer ..

Ok well in the LP670's handling line the red one stands for the drive type. You can even set the 4WD's ratios. You can see that the number is 0.35, which means it sends 65% of it's torque to the rear wheels and 35% to the front. (this is why you can't really drift an LP670, but it grips like a motherf*cker).
So the values are: 0.0 for RWD, 1.0 for FWD and depending on the ratio from 0.1 to 0.9 it's AWD/4WD. For SUVs I always use the 4x4 (50% rear 50% front) drive which is 0.5

EDIT: Update on all Lamborghinis. 4WD ratio changed to 30% front 70% rear. That's what ever Lamborghini uses (also known as VT AWD Sytem).
Most likely I'll update my R8 handling as well, since I've found out that the 4WD ratio it uses is 15% front and 85% rear.

EDIT2: Updated R8 V10 handling in the first post...

Sorry for the bump, but editing post just doesn't make sense when I update something.
So updated 2008 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport added to the list. (more grip, 20% 80% 4WD ratio, corrected gear changes)

EDIT:

Updated the Maserati Quattroporte. New grip, and gear ratios.

I am converting '56 PORSCHE 550A Spyder from Forza Motorsports 3.

Can you make handling for this car?.If you'll make handling, i'll give you that car.
