New image leaked for Assassin's Creed III, is it real or fake?

Link

Edit: This is proven to be a fan made fake. Although we did get an announcement of an AC game this year, which is AC:Revelations. The game is the last in the Ezio series.

We are all expecting the next stop to be paris and french revolution. But i am honestly hoping for more missions in the ''real life'' and even interacting with the real people(or doing some mission where you have to blend in with the real people and so on. Monteriggioni was just a ghost town in 2012.

If you don't think Brotherhoods a good game your standards are insanely high.

It's a fake:

QUOTE
VGHQ are reporting that they were mailed an image for Assassin's Creed III, set in July of 1789, during the storming of the Bastille. While the setting has been rumoured for some time, the image is an unofficial piece of art by Deviantart user boup0quod. Nothing more than a very lovely piece of fan art here. Expect a real announcement on Assassin's Creed III soon, as Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that the next game will be released during fiscal year 2011

http://multi.systeml...d-image-is.html

In real news:

QUOTE
Yesterday Ubisoft opened a small Assassin's Creed art exhibition for invited guests from the arts and media in Munich, Germany. When questioned about the possible setting for Assassin's Creed III, the artistic director Mohamed Gambouz said "Asian or South American".

If they can produce a very good game every year than why not?
R* released 5 GTA's in 2001-2007 (6.5 years) and all of em are magnificent.

Whilst it would be cool for it to be set mainly in the future, it would kind of un-do everything they've worked so hard on previously. The Assassin's Creed name is built around the ancient settings, not a small group in the future.

On the contrary, life in the Animus is getting a bit dull.

Of course that image is fake. Only an idiot would think it's real. I'd like AC3 to be all about Desmond.

Well it was only planned to have 3 games but they've squeezed Brotherhood in already. They can near enough set the game in any time period at any location and make the story work so i reckon this will get milked to high heaven tounge.gif .

Not that i'd complain though, love the series and would still end up buying it even if it was sh*t.

No they aren't.
Only worth ones were SA & IV

Another example: CoD.

Anyway, is that going to be a female this time? it looks like it is from the picture

I don't think the image is real because ubisoft always release a trailer first. Hopefully it is real.

Wow, I'm not going to get into it about CoD, I kind of agree with that about the last few games, but saying that GTAIII and Vice City were not worth it seems incredibly ignorant. I get the feeling you did not play those games until after SA came out. If not, go join TLC and Gezim in the high standards club.

As for the picture. Yeah, it doesn't seem legit in the least. The tagline seems too dragnet-ish.

This series is milked as sh*t. They come out with like two new of these games, what? Every year or something? And they're always the same. I've played the first and second and found both of them really boring.

The first and the second are two completely different games. Just what did you find boring in Assassin's Creed 2?

AC series must be one of the most enjoyable single player story driven free roaming experiences I've had a pleasure of playing.

I agree, Assassin's Creed is everything I have looked for in a game, a solid story and a developing plot. AC2 is pretty much completely different from AC1.

@Gezim, Now I think you're either trolling, sarcastic, or you just don't know what the hell you're talking about. Not counting portable consoles and PC, they've only released three games. One in 2007, one in 2009 (the two you played, made two years apart), and then one in 2010. Now possibly one in 2011, but you never know about that, with how games are delayed these days. And to call the first two games the same, is ridiculous. The first game, I can see being really boring. It really is the same sh*t through out most of the game. But AC2 is completely different in terms of mission structure. The settings are much more diverse, and don't keep you in one area for too long. But whatever, it's your opinion.

Assassin's Creed is one of my favourite franchises at the moment. There is a risk it becomes stale and stagnant like other game franchises with frequent updates (i.e. CoD and half the sports games in existence), but I am strongly anticipating the announcement in May. The French revolution would be interesting, but it's not on the top of my list.

Have you complete both games?
I find it incredible how they make a new fresh game every year and dont use LOADS if recycled content.

That's where I think you're wrong. I thought the missions were too repetitive. All I seemed to be doing was running around town delivering letters and sh*t and climbing up buildings. I thought even the story was boring and not very interesting at all and not to mention the graphics were below average. And that's what kept me away from continuing playing the game.
