PS3 fat can run emulation wink.gif

Only 1 or 2 models of the PS3 fat can run PS2 games, the rest unfortunately only PS1, which is a big reason why R* should release a classics triple pack on PSN!

And how hard is it to track down a PS2 and a working copy of GTA III for cheap? Or better yet, get the PC version on Steam and enjoy playing GTA III very smoothly with some MODS. Besides, this is about making GTA III for the PC open-source, not porting it to the undeserving PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles!

Signed, but isn't GTA 3 already quite moddable and stuff? Still, I hope they do it.

Man, I think Rockstar should release LCS and VCS on PC first , just then R Classics. Is this possible ? dontgetit.gif

It is possible, but there are at least some hurdles to be considered if you want R* to release III's source code, like the Renderware library, for example, as EA/Criterion owns the rights to it (hence Rockstar's decision to develop RAGE). Still I'm also hoping for a code release; my coding skills aren't really up to snuff but I'd be happy to contribute as much as I can.

Go away.

I'm actually a nice guy. If I weren't, I wouldn't have cared enough to give you little peeps a reality check.

EA owns RenderWare, apparently. EA only believes in money, so they will never make anything of THEIRS free, let alone open-source.

Even if Rockstar wanted to make GTA III free and open-source (which they don't give a damn about), they would have EA to deal with and... 'nuff said.

The way me and anyone else with a brain would see it is that the petition will just go straight into Rockstar Games's and EA's trash bin. And I'll be laughing my ass off at all of you amateurs who think that just anything could happen and have no idea as to how reality f*cking works. The Internet is full of them, dammit!

LOL. I just posted some of my wishes lol.gif and there's such a view on it lol.gif Actually, I think many fans would be very happy, if those games would be released on PC, but it's nearly impossible I know, but always have some wish. Those games' anniversary is coming too biggrin.gif

Everybody can pretend to be a tough guy on the internet, buddy, Like you. You're as intimidating as a fat 4 year old, acting all serious and cocky. Bet it feels real good when somebody actually talks back and puts you in your place. Nobody cares what you think. If we'd think this it was useless we wouldn't make petitions or sign anything.

Oh my... The amount of fun I could have tweaking the engine and such.
That'd bring GTA III right back into the spotlight.

Signed, and crossed fingers.
I think in about 3 years, they'll make it free.

Depends how many more years after that, they'll release the source.

Thanks all, and to reiterate, we are all well aware it's an unlikely prospect, but that doesn't mean it's not worth trying.
