Terrible news.
I have witnessed first hand an Earthquake and many after shocks first hand after being caught up at the heart of a 6.9 in 2004. Scary sh*t.

Just emailing a few friends now to make sure they are ok

The live footage is crazy. The flooding seems unstoppable and it's moving everything out of the way and unfortunately a lot of people are seen trying to escape (either by car or foot) but are unable to because of the sheer speed of the flooding.

Sounds bad. I live in California and I can't imagine three quakes that big happening within a decade let alone one hour.

EDIT: Holy sh*t, I just saw the video of the tsunami moving across the land. It's unreal. It's like something out of nightmares.

My prayers are with Japan and the other countries that could be effected by the Tsunami. I have a friend in the US Navy stationed in Okinawa, Japan. It may be southern Japan but they still might get the Tsunami...

...about 10 seconds further on in that vid, the wave goes over a road with lots of fleeing vehicles. Absolutely terrifying, I really hope they were safe in their cars.

They're saying the tsunami might effect the entire Pacific rim, with the exception of Canada and the Continental U.S.

Sirens are going off in Hawaii. Jeez, I can handle tornados, but three big earthquakes followed by unstopable wave is not my cup of tea.

Scratch that, they're saying the entire Pacific coast including Canada and the U.S. are under a tsunami warning.

Just got home from my woman's and saw this on a lot of news feeds. Amazing that all this happened while a lot of the Western world was asleep. It's just been one disaster after another lately hasn't it? Best wishes go out to those affected.

This is like someone put the hands under Japan terrain and move it; - just like that ...

I don't want to know and see what it will be if above 9,0 will strike anywhere on the planet. This is too much

living in california, I've felt a few little aftershocks but NOTHING to this magnitude, literally.

The 'conspiracy driven' side of me says HAARP is behind this, but the rational side of me says this is just "mother nature" doing what "she's" always done.

f****n japan is getting hammered, now all the tsunamis in the pacific islands... sh*t.

Saw this on the news this morning, it's really terrible, especially since Japan is one huge island with almost nowhere to run.

The tsunami waves are expected to hit our northeastern coast lines in just an hour from now.

Thank god I don't live anywhere near the sea.

I'm sure Philippines coastlines (especially the north-east ones) will get hit by the waves, but of course it won't as big as it is in Japan.

Just flicked on BBC News, watching the oil refineries burn out of control and witnessing these waves sweep through streets is just surreal.

Now, on my news, they say that the waves could reach West-North Cost of US, but Canada will not be hit.
