So I was using photoshop to make a GTA Simpsons cover cause I was bored. Then I thought I would expand that cover into an awesome mod for san andreas. I can't model for sh*t but then I thought maybe if i downloaded the simpsons hit n run and converted all the models to .dff and put them onto san andreas that would make an amazing simpsons mod. But then there was one problem, I looked at all the files and they are .wsd files .wcp files and the 3d models are all in .p3d format. I have been searching for hours and found many things but .p3d is such an old format that it isnt compatible with 3ds max. I don't want to make all the models from scratch when i have the hit n run ones sitting right there. Does anyone know how I can open up a p3d file with 3ds max and possibly even convert p3d to dff? Thankyou for reading smile.gif

Hey cool.gif

I Know How To Open Those Files .
Go Here
peak3d.de/cgi-bin/loadp3d.pl?p3d10e.
Then Download.
And When It's Finished Install It And Open it.
Then Open A P3d File And Save It In Another Format.

I tried shady's Peak 3d and it doesn't work, neither does Panda 3d.
The format was probably made by S.H.A.R's developers.

Edit: Looking around SHAR's files i found a reference to 'Pure3d' so thats most likely the format. icon14.gif

I joined these forums specifically to reply to this thread.

Lucas' P3D Editor will allow you to extract Hit and Run models from P3D files in .obj format so then you can take that and roll with it.

I don't know much about GTA modding, only SHAR modding. But I figured I'd drop that information here if anyone still cares.

Anyways, you can grab the program from this page
