GTA IV TLAD Where you kill Billy then burn the clubhouse down, that bit's really sad.

I'm so glad I never saw that in the game, because even watching the video on YouTube made me feel totally down.

Red Dead Redemption - Seriously John's death was seriously epic and sad. When I got to Edgar Ross it was even more emotional, but in a good way best game ever for story!

2 pages and no one mentioned Mafia or MGS3? You guys are a bunch of tools and I mean it.
Mafia: it's not just one scene it's an entire game. The transformation of Tommy from an honest taxi driver to a ruthless criminal is sad (Mission: Better get used to it). Then there is Paulie's death, knowledge that Frank is dead too and finally Tommy's death.
MGS3:killing The Boss. And on top of that learning that she was just following orders

If you had bothered to read the opening post instead of just jumping in and calling people tools, you would see that the OP mentioned MGS3.

Fallout 3 - Seeing your dad sacrifice himself so you and the rest of the project purity team can escape.
inFAMOUS - In inFAMOUS when you have to make the choice to save Trish or let her die only to realise that she'll die in either the Good or Evil option.
Mass Effect 2 - Not really sad but it is horrifying to see Yeoman Chambers get broken down and fed through the tubes to the Human Reaper in ME2 right before your eyes.
Mass Effect 2 - Losing any squad member in ME2 during the Suicide Mission, sh*t is emotional man.
Uncharted 2 Among Thieves - When Elena nearly dies by Flynn setting off a grenade near the end of Uncharted 2.
GTA Vice City - When you find out Lance is actually working against you in Vice City.
Killzone 2 - When Rico kills Visari in a fit of rage at the End of Killzone 2 and you realize that there is a massive Helghast fleet and that the ISA are stranded on Helghan.
Assassins Creed Brotherhood - Seeing Desmond stab Lucy at the end of AC: Brotherhood against his will.
Halo: Reach - Starting to see Reach get glassed by the Covenant as you fly around New Alexandria helping the Evacuation
Half -Life 2 Episode 2 - Seeing Eli die at the hands of an Advisor at the end of HL2 Episode 2 as you can't do anything to stop it.

There are more but i can't think of them, and yes I know a bunch are from this generation of games, I have a bad memory when it comes to endings.

Oh and paps, care explaining the bit at the end of Gears 2 that was sad, it's been so long since I played it.

yes when i saw the ISA about to be in deep crap at the end of KZ2 it was kinda sad. But if you really thought about it, how could the strategists and tacticians missed that giant fleet? Also they would try a quick strike on the capital but ignore everywhere else??

Here's a tip, guys: Put the name of the game first, and then the spoiler tag. I don't want to randomly take chances on looking at spoiler tags.

Yeah these are both pretty bad, but in the end it's all your own fault. Should've been faster or smarter. It;s just a testament to how well the characters are developed in ME2 that you actually care about the living email notification and your meat shields. The overall story may be a bit lacking, but the individual character stories work really well as little episodes of Commander Shepard Saves the Day.

Plus I've always maintained that if you let your crew die after the Collector abduction, you're a monster.

Oh, and you might want to mention the game either before or as the very first words of the spoiler bro. I'm just glad I'd already played/don't care about the games you mentioned.

Yes but they weren't slaughtered. If you still believe that, I suggest you look up the meaning of the word.

Well the first one has only happened to me once and i hated watching it, even after i'd seen a video of it previously, seeing it actually happen in my game was pretty horrible and Jack mainly dies in my playthroughs, i can never keep that bitch alive.

Oh and yeah i should've mentioned the games, my bad. notify.gif

I know this is not exactly in your face sad, but on Assassins Creed Brotherhood:

When Desmond goes to the villa right at the start, and the bleeding effect shows Ezio putting the apple on a podium in the underground chamber where all the statues of the Assassins are, and Desmond says " Its Ezio, he looks so...Old" Because this young, cool character that you spend 2 whole games investing your emotions in has been shown as an old man, maybe even near his death at that point sad.gif

I thought that was quite sad if im honest
