Was planning on picking this game up next week, but so far it's all mixed reviews and I'm not sure whether it will be a great purchase. Then again, everyone has their own opinion on a game. Was watching some multiplayer footage on Youtube and the maps seem rather big, which has it's good and bad points. Big maps usually result in alot of sprinting around just to find someone, and it seems that the killstreaks will be easy to get. Then again though, 32 players on the map sounds like one hell of a game.

Only other problem is, I've read that the MP servers are down at the moment, with a patch coming on the way sometime in the future. Don't know how old the comment on the video was, so can anyone tell me the news on this?

That's nothing compared with MAG's 256 players on a map.

Sounds nice! Exept if the map is too small!

The story seemed boring before the release of the game: The good American must to preserve the world, and the bad Communists want to destroy it...

MAG just seems to be playing out a single player game, but with human players instead of A.I. The fact that it's a multiplayer only game means they had to add something to entice players to the game.

of course, the large scale is what makes it stand out from the generic FPS's.

I for one love MAG.

I think we should stop with other game talk, discuss Homefront pl0x.

Hey, I'm getting this game in a week and I have a few questions:

- How long is the campaign? Is the story really as good as the reviews say?
- Customization?
- Is there a theater mode like in Halo or Black Ops?
- Anything else I should know?

I can't answer your other questions as I haven't played the game, but from what I've heard, the campaign is around 5 hours only, yet the story is apparently meant to make up for that.

How long is it usually before a demo appears on Live of a game, as I'm tempted to play the game but don't want to be wasting £40 on a game that will be completed within couple of hours and then put on a shelf to gather dust.

I was going to buy this game but I decided to get Battlefield Bad Company 2 instead (for £25) It's probably one of the best FPS I have played on the Xbox 360 or PS3. The Campaign Isn't bad but the Multiplayer Is a mile better than CoD.

Found the MP demo on Live today, and just got back from trying it out. I can see this game only appealing to certain gamers, and those are the ones who are just after some fun MP FPS action. The graphics are slightly dated looking, and the guy runs as if he has a backpack full of bricks on his back, which can be quite annoying due to the size of the map(s) (only one available in demo). On the plus side, it's fun driving around in a vehicle, especially when you choose to be the gunner of a team-mates vehicle. Another good thing that I'm liking about the game is the fact that it does away with campers by sticking a warning over someone who's on a killstreak. It doesn't pin-point their exact location, but puts a circle around their location (such as in Assassins Creed). Obviously am judging the game by one demo level, but the game seems like it could have been great if it had worked on the few bugs that spoil it.

May have to rent this game though and check it out.

So they set a 2014 time frame eh. Isn't that around the time, most people think the next consoles are coming out?

2014? This better be good. Homefront was a good start of a new franchise and the ending was pointing to a sequel.
Maybe we get to play as an European soldier?

I think that THQ's 2014 fiscal year is mostly 2013 calendar year.
