I got it yesterday!! cool.gif

I think it's a good game. Solid online preformance..

My only grip so far is that it seems like there is no zoom function for your sniper gun... Or maybe i haven't found it yet because i've only played it for 2h..

Hasn't the Steam release been pushed back to the 18th or something?

Maybe its just Europe with the steam delay since, on my steam it still has the 15th for the game. Does not really matter to me, since I am getting it for PS3.

Hoping someone who owns the game can clear something up in this video. How many real people are 'in' this chopper? To me, it seems like one person is steering the chopper and has to the missiles, whilst the other one just has access to the gun.

I was hoping to pick this up on release, but money ran tight this week, so hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Pretty sh*t that I have a few items on my Want list, such as Live and that, so not sure on what to get, but this game has looked promising from day one.

The graphics look stunning, and the game sounds so much better then games such as MW2 IMO.

All that I have a doubt about is, how good is the enemy A.I in single player? On the video on the first page of this topic, it seemed abit 'slow', such as enemies running towards a grenade instead of running away.

I agree that it could be misleading to a few people, but surely the 'close Ad' bit in the top corner should have given it away that this was an advertisement for a product?

Looks like another bland run of the mill FPS, except in an urban setting, which I like.

Apparently, this game has a 5 hour campaign - er, no thanks.

Too bad, looked promising.

It is odd that the campaign is only 5 hours, since it seemed from the previews that the story was the most important part. Though i did buy the game earlier today. So far so good, except for the graphics, which feel outdated. Haven't tried the multiplayer, since I always complete the story first, though in order to get the full online experience you need a code, which comes with a new game purchase.

On the topic of the campaign, is it as much of a far-right dystopian fantasy as it looks? I can just imagine Palin hunched over in the glow of her TV as she's takes back 'merca from those Commie bastards, assault rifle sat on her lap and stars 'n' stripes bandanna tied around her head.

Despite the unnerving political undertones, the game does look interesting, and it's not too often you get to play at all out war in Western city/suburban environments. Guess it's usually too close to home.

This is definitely not a pretty game on the 360. The earlier comparison to HL2 was closer than you might think, graphics-wise. I usually don't care that much, but this game has me looking at everything just to see how ugly it is. So far, the campaign is pretty cliche and samey. Endless enemies, lots of yelling and the AI and guns feel very c*nt of dookie. The little kids will probably love it.

why you guys mad at 5hrs worth of campaign? most fps SP's are in the 5-10 hrs and im sure you'll put in a few hours of MP...60 bucks a game is standard...look at portal a 1200 pt download to a 60 dollar full game.

just my 2 cents. confused.gif

COD campaign is 6 hours and yet it's completely fine to pay much more for it?

Like COD, Homefront is multiplayer focused.

That's not really a good example though, is it? Because they've made it into a full retail game from a DLC arcadde game/small supplemental game in Orange Box. It's like complaining that Nissan used to sell a car at about 7K (Micra) and now they're selling one at 50K (GTR). The two things (Portal 1 and 2) are on a different scale.

Personally, if a SP campaign is going to be ridiculously short (which 5 hours is) then the MP better be pretty f*cking robust and engaging. I think I'll pass on Homefront simply because of the short SP, and lack of hype about MP, mainly because I never get enough time to devote to MP these days.

Surely this 5 hour campaign is when playing on easy? I'd imagine it would shoot up to about 10 hours when playing on a harder difficulty and actually giving you a challenge instead of just blitzing through the game.

Something told me this looked alot like frontlines fuel of war, found out its made by the same DEV. If its anything like that then the multiplayer isnt that bad had some really good games.

In FFOW for every new capture point you took up the battelfield you would either gain tanks or other abilities or helicopters. The guns looked ok but if i remember the levels looked like arse, sounds like this new game allthough improved still sufferes from the same problems. looks like il be waiting for brink then instead.

The singleplayer of Homefront really looked promising, especially the storyline. To hear that storyline has been wasted on a 5-hour singleplayer is saddening to say the least.

I beat the story on the default difficulty setting, and it took me around 7 hours to beat, with me dying once in a while.
The Story was underwhelming, I think it could have been better, but there were some good parts and so really cheesy parts like the ending, the"badass" of groups kills himself to kill a convoy of Koreans.

The mulitplayer is FUN! It is a lot better then COD. It really is a blend of COD and BF. The guns could have had a more realistic recoil, but that is pretty much it. The maps are bigger then anything in COD and they feel more realistic then COD's. In conclusion, the MP will be good thing to waste time on until Battlefield 3.

If all you want is a challenge, then why dont you try to maintain an erection while watching a full length episode of Sex and the City.

There's your 10 hours right there.
