Man, this is going to be awesome! So, does anybody think we'll get some veteran reward on this game? We already had the M1 Garand, so what other gun is badass enough to be a veteran reward? Do you think it will be a BC2 weapon, Battlefield 2 weapon, or some other weapon?

Oh, after this, we need another full WWII or Vietnam Battlefield.

It was an image saying that the limited edition would include a "Back To Karkand" map.

This quote I just read from the product summary on game.co.uk got me pretty excited.

Bad Company 3 isn't something to look forward to if you really want the best Battlefield game ever. Thing is though, I highly doubt this is really going to be that good. I'm actually kind of thinking that BC2 + Vietnam Expansion are going to be Dice's best products.

In short: they've been giving too much console attention/focus to their products last years... do your own math.

That is the so true, Battlefield used to be an awesome pc game, but now it seems to be drifting away from pc a bit, a real shame.

Alan Kertz, Gameplay Designer
QUOTE
Gameplay Designer Alan Kertz has stated that it will be unlikely that there will be a server browser for console versions of the game, and that it was purely the technical limitations of the 360 and PS3 that cut the number of online players on console from 64 to 24.

QUOTE
Yes, really prone. Don't worry about the balance part, I've got it covered... I hate shooting delays. There's plenty of other ways to balance prone than keeping people from shooting... I see prone as a tactical decision, become a small target, give up mobility.

MoH MP and BC2 used the same weapon and FOV systems... BF3 is an upgraded version.

Tracers are in, period. Players need to feel the fire fight, and tracers add to that feeling. You can hide other ways... No, no tracer darts. That's a bit too BC and not enough BF.

that's actually giving me hope that they're going back to a BF2 feeling instead of a BC2 one monocle.gif

The details sound nice, but I'll stay sceptical untill I see some decent gameplay and/or play it myself. Which reminds me I really need a new, top of the line powerfull rig before BF3, heck even earlier!

Anyone has another source for the 'Limited Edition' information and/or picture? I want to see & read for myself.

This is what Frostbite 2 looks like, and in this particular clip they're displaying real-time radiosity:

My guessing us that it'll be standard in the first run of games released, much Like BC2 was and many EA games that have been released as of late, but still at least it's not the only way to get it as it'll be out later for people willing to pay.

I'm gonna get the LE anyway so it's all good.

I'm wondering though, do you guys think the weapons will be usable on the standard maps? I personally hope they will be as it'd be annoying to have map restricted weapons.

I'd love that. I am sick and tired of seeing tiny yellow people running around with M16s and 1911s. f*ck that noise. Map and faction restricted weapons, thank you very much.

I know that's not going to happen but a man can dream.

Rated 18? Battlefield usually gets an 16 (Pegi) Teen (ESRB) rating.

Logic not appealing to most modern FPS gamers is what I presume his reasoning is.

Yessir. Nobody's going to buy a game that has faction-specific weapons after Call of Duty 4 (thanks Infinity Ward). I loved the unlock system in BF2 where it allowed you to unlock any one gun every two levels, but the core guns were still locked to the different nations, and they all had their quirks, their strengths and their weaknesses. I didn't get them all because I sucked; after five years I was still a Gunnery Sergeant.

I don't have a decent pc and play on Xbox 360 but I would be pissed too if they dumbed down the pc version because of the consoles.

I hope this is good on the consoles though, though I will be VERY jealous of PC gamers cause I am sure theirs will be AMAZING.
I need a good comp.

It almost sounds to me like BFBC and BFBC2 were just little offerings to keep the fans busy/happy while Dice waits to make their masterpiece. Battlefield 3...hmm?

Ingame screen shots? Sure, why not:

Contains a lot of goodness in text form aswell, like:

"Dice trying to find a good balance between customization of your character and not having 'pink rabbit hat(s)'" Hahaha, f*ckin' A!

Why is it so hard to add customisation of your gear/character/uniform/weaponry and keep it realistic? Seriously, is it that hard? We don't want any golden camo's or made up weapon camos and attachements that aren't even specific to the era.

Also, I get the feeling that BC1 and BC2 were made to test out the tech and engine they wanted to have to start a BF3 with... in other words, they wanted to try out "dynamic destruction" in videogames on large® scale. It worked and they probably tuned it even more and went to the next level. Essentially they were done with testing.

Still, I shall stay sceptical. But I must admit, I got a massive hardon when looking at those screenshots/scans.
