Why not just use original? Why use an ice cream flavor as a slang term?

Think of TBOGT and TLAD as sprinkles for the vanilla ice cream. Maybe that can help.

Why the hell don't you call it just IV, simple as that.
There is IV, TLAD, TBOGT.

That name is stupid, GTA IV deserves its real name IMO.

why say "don't" when Do not involves just as many keys?

Why say :beard: instead of f*ck off?

why say stupid instead of dumb?

we could go on forever.

'Vanilla' is a term that's been around a lot longer than GTA4. When I used to play the 'Age of' series, the original game was always called vanilla. We used to call the x-pack 'chocolate' too.

AdamJ311 is right. "Vanilla" is also used to explain an unmodded/stock game.

It's the best flavour of gta IV.

Personally, I don't use the term. I simply refer to it as IV.

At least stupid means dumb, vanilla is a pod that comes from a plant and is often used for flavouring, it has f**k all to do with a video game.

Enough circle-jerking. It's a modding term meaning the original layout and game that you get when you buy it, without any add-ins, add-ons or conversions. Console gamers have no idea what it really means, but they can use it to mean original gtaiv, even if it's not the intended message.

The reason they call it vanilla is because vanilla is the default ice cream flavour out there. Mods and conversions are the other flavours, and sprinkles that you can put on the vanilla to make it better. Get it? Got it? Good.

Agreed. I understand what "vanilla" means, but I think using that term is making things more difficult out of nothing.
