Bump, what happened is that I had the last post so I edited it to add the interview but editing doesn't update the thread so if you're interested just read the above post.

Nice to see a few Rally greats there, looks like a decent mix between muscle, tuner, classics, supercars 4x4s/SUV's and more standard cars. I wonder what the Drift cars are, possibly modified versions with better performance, body kits, decals and whatnot? Definatley looking forward to this game now.

WHAT THE HELL ARE 2011 CARS DOING IN A GAME SET IN 2004?
Sorry, but it wouldn't surprise me if tanner could time travel in coma, as he is supposed to be like 40 but is in his early-late 20s

Decided to pop in Driv3r because I forgot the story. Jericho looks way different. Plus I only completed it in two hours tounge.gif
And at least they finally confirmed that both Tanner and Jericho are both in the hospital, since I first beat it 5 years ago I've always wondered who was almost dead in the hospital, a big cliffhanger. Still think Driv3r is hella fun though.

I've preoreded this, I can't wait, love the look of the handling and framerate. First thing I will do is park a 18 wheeler across a freeway and shift into as many cars as possible, create a huge pile up, and then film director it biggrin.gif

Lots of nice cars. Can't wait to play this. Can't believe the game release in less than 2 months. We haven't seen much info or trailers yet.

Nice list of cars. Dissapointed at the lack of Porsche and BMW but you can't win them all. Wouldn't be surprised if they get them for DLC.

I'm glad we can be driving a Delorean, Murcielago + SV and this...

I heard that apparently Porsches won't appear outside of an NFS game due to some contract spanning back from NFS: Porsche Challenge or something. However RUF are an unofficial Porsche tuner so thanks to them Porsche's aren't completley absent wink.gif

EDIT: Looked into it further, Porsches are in games other than NFS, probably easier to license RUF's than Porsches or something, that's why they're absent.

The best feature I've seen in this game from the gameplay videos are the movie challenges. There seem to be a few dotted about SF and each one changes the city in a way that relates to the movie, like teleporting back to the seventies for a challenge based on Gone in 60 Seconds:

All the road vehicles become 1970s and earlier. The cop cars even morph to the Dodge Monaco battering rams! With the Mustang Fastback and Gran Torino, whats the betting that Reflections have included challenges based on Bullit and Starsky & Hutch, or even outrunning an entire fleet of cruisers in the Bluesmobile??

Something I hope the team look into expanding is the classic Film Director; how brilliant would it be to upload your movies to the net?

Not entirely sure if I'll be buying this one or not. I was a big fan of the series for Driver 1, 2, and 3. Didn't ever get 4 but then I gather most people skipped that one. I'm hopeful they can revive it and so far it does look like it could be a good game, but still not 100% convinced they can re-capture the feeling of those first 3. It seems again in this one like they're trying to kill off Tanner and I really don't get why, I love him as character and loved all the characters that were introduced in Driver 2, also just loved it because it took a different path to GTA and hopefully they can be brave enough to stick to that long term. GTA is great but there is room for games like Driver and Mafia that try to do it differently.

I so badly want this.

I am loving the throwback music, being remixed from the menu music from the first game. Handling and power slides look great and suspension looks nice and bouncy.

The car list also came with a little video, as well as the special edition video:

I just about jizzed myself when I saw that Camaro.

They have all the obvious classics, such as the A-Team van, Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino, Lethal Weapon Vista Cruiser, Delorean, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, 67 Mustang, Mustang Mach 1, etc. Shame there is no Knight Rider Trans-Am though, nothing past 1980. That would be my ideal car as well as a De Tomaso Pantera.

I also just saw these two videos which are from LAST years E3 which I somehow never even saw. Though I asume alot has been changed since then.

Holy crap! That's how you make a collectors edition. The game looks stunning. I actually like the whole coma thing and body snatching. It means they're not worried about realism, they are focusing on fun. And that idea has a lot of potential. And I also like that they're going back to the roots. It's not trying to be GTA, it's just about the cars and car chases. And I LOVE IT! The city looks incredible too.

It's a shame that there doesn't appear to be a collectors edition for the PC version. If there is I can't seem to find it on the usual sites I pre order from, oh well.

I also like the throwbacks to the original Driver, like how the Challenger's paint job is apparently a homage to Driver 1's "lost car"

But anyways I might be getting the collectors edition, but the one thing I find terrible about the edition is because the car has some rubbish bins on top.

I dont know yet.

What? No. Driver Parallel Lines was awesome. It was way better than that abomination Driver 3, and quite frankly it was better than the first two if you take away the nostalgia. In sheer quality it is the best one in the series. And it has the most advanced and intuitive wanted level system I've ever seen.

It's entirely possible to privately import cars, bro. I've personally seen Alfas over here, and not kit cars.

I don't care about any other car, I'm going to be driving either the Challenger R/T and Mustang Fastback the entire time.

To add to what Moon said, Alfa Romeo used to sell cars in the U.S., although they haven't for awhile.

They're also bringing certain models over to sell in the states.

Fantastic. Especially the car list.

I never really liked the previous game, and the game before that but this just looks awesome.

Wish they added wheel support though, even if it had arcadish physics it looks like it would still be fun as hell.

Loving the new footage, think I may have to pre-order this. Did anyone else notice The Blues Brothers inspired car chase at the end of that video? I'd buy it on that chase alone.

Yup they said at the end of the video if you collect those movie tokens then you get to basically take part in special movie or TV car chases which sounds pretty sweet.

Apparently one of the multiplayer modes is going to be 'Trailblazers,' in which a golden Delorean drives around the city leaving flaming trails, of which you have to hit to score points.

Good to know they didn't pass on a BttF reference. tounge.gif

I don't see how they could, seeing how the Delorean is famous because of BTTF movies.

Seems like Ubisoft too is jumping on the online pass scheme, requiring you to enter a code to access multiplayer or pay $10 if you buy used.
