No problem, you put in a lot of hard work.
The forum directory hasnt been updated for a long time and you link to it in your guide anyway. Pins dont often actually serve a purpose but this should be fine.
Dont blame me if Admin come a long and unpin though! They are anti pinners!!

Good job icon14.gif

The Major Contribution/Achievement Award. This uses to be the biggest and the best commendation the staff could ever give. It's absolutely supreme to the other and it's VERY hard to get one. Sure, there are the old school guys who have helped the forum in the past too, so it's not a REALLY big deal to get one, just a lot of work.

Small spelling error there

There are quite a few of them and grammatical errors too, but I guess we can ignore them since they get the message across clearly, anyways.

Congrats on the award, miromiro. Thoroughly deserved. smile.gif

I have another glitch for you: Back when members could be banned and then unbanned by moderators when they were unbanned they'd still have the BUSTED! stars under their flag. Nowadays only admins can unban people as far as I know, although mods can ban.

Also in the list section, capital I and capital A will make their relevant lists be in capital letters.

And you can change your member title after less than 10 posts. I can't remember when I changed mine but it must have been between 2 and 5 posts.

And in the member group section, the Rockstar user is actually their technical support and not involved in the coding, just in helping end users out. And new accounts here don't require admin validation to my knowledge, the user activates them by replying to an auto-generated email.

Quick list of some members who had more than the regulation 5 karma, off the top of my head:
  • Edison Carter (25)
  • PatrickW (25)
  • Wolf68k (6+)
  • Mint (50)

And that's about it from me. Good work.

Thanks girishb and Panda, I will make the correction.

Will update everything as soon as possible! smile.gif

Minus, it should be possible as the only difference is the skin. However, you won't need to if you own a HD monitor. icon14.gif

I don't, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. Any help on this one?

Also congrats on the medal. smile.gif

Thank you.

Well, My Controls -> Left Menu -> Options -> Skin and Languages -> Board 'skin'
Choose there the skin you want.

To collapse menu: Under 'My Controls'.

The option to collapse the menu isn't available on that skin for whatever reason.

I remember you saying something about wanting do to something for a medal. But I never actually thought you'd go through with it, and I certainly never expected anything of this size. Jeez. That's a well-earned medal. Kudos.

A topic needs less than 50 posts in order to become a hot topic (Red Envelope). My bet would be that it is 48 or more posts.

Also Morph; Spooky and REspawn were just mods if I recall.

Morph was an administrator; I remember he had the really large negative post count.

Nice work on the topic, miromiro!

Some of the information is self explanatory, such as user profile and signature rules. Then again, there are people who do not understand them and this topic answers any question that could possibly be asked by forum newbs. Fantastic work miromiro.
By the way, multiplayer gangs and official gangs are two different things. The official groups are from the old system, while multiplayer gangs are gangs formed from 2007-present, after the PGC was removed. There's no official/unofficial distinction within them.

Updates!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. It's time to get this a little bit updated.
  • Added those jump tags after each section has been finished. Still not all.
  • Added [B][O][T] at the retired moderators list.
  • Moved steve-m from retired moderators to retired administrators.
  • Added girishb, Josh and Pandazoot on the 'Thanks' list.
  • Added Ryan and Miamivicecity to the special collections list.
  • Fixed the Major contribution award typo.
  • Changed the answer to the question who are those bots and also added Josh's information.
That's everything. It's really less. Looking at how much I still have to update...

A Special Request:
Any official gang members please post in this topic or send me a Personal Message with information related to your gang. If you look at 3.1 there's so much empty space because most members didn't answer on PMs so if you want to give me the info I'll fill it.

Thanks to everybody and enjoy! tounge.gif icon14.gif

Very good guide but I have something to say on the glitches part. Most of them (Morph's (I think he was an admin) -8 million posts and illspirit's 1976 join date) were made by admins on MySQL to test the forum capabilities. wink.gif So technically it's not a glitch.

I wish the karma stars were still active. How I remember the old days, yet abusive days. turn.gif

Impressive level of diligence and work put into this, hopefully the other Official gangs will be more forthcoming with info in the future.

I do have all of their origins filed away though if you're ever interested.

Odd timing. I just read this today for the first time since it started and got pinned.

I was sad to see no AMF history sad.gif , but I'm too young to speak up confused.gif

You can totally see the time and effort put into this guide. I'm sure it will be useful. Good job.

I'd say that the moderators are looking far cooler to the people than administrators. (no offence to admins!). They are using their power to help out the forum members. You can see that the moderators are not so much on the anonymous status, because they can find time to talk to people. Keep it up. Want to see the Moderating Team? Look Here.

I'm glad to see a romanian putting such work to this forum. I don't see this everyday, so you really raised our way of how we are, better than any other could do. I hope to see more good comrades around this forum like you and specially the young ones, hopping to understand, that this is one of those ways where someone can represent himself.

I salute you +1 icon14.gif

As per the Service Level Agreement that has been agreed upon by Tank and the new server hosting company, the number of pinned topics is directly proportional to the amount of money to be paid annually by the subscriber (in this case, Tank).

Expect more topics to be unpinned soon.

Is there a way I can put a button into threads that allows the viewer to hide or show the information? Some forums use that as spoilers, instead of these silly spoilers GTAForums use. It would be awfully helpful for my concept threads.
