Sorry for not realy helping you out, but I want to request whether you ca upload the PS2 timecyc.dat to mediafire or somewhere else and post the link? I'd like to study the actuall differences between this one and the one coming with the pc version of the game

cheers

Will you people ever understand that there are no differences between the PS2's and PC's timecyc.dat? And why do you want to have the PS2's graphics on the PC, when the PS2's graphics are worse anyway?

QUOTE
In fact, the PS2's timecyc(p).dat is the same as the timecyc.dat in the PC version. I've gone through all the data in both of them and they're exactly the same, apart from the fact that in the PS2 the draw distance is less.

My guess is that you haven't actually looked at the files yourself. All the changes i mentioned in my previous post are present. Not only that, but the "draw distance" (FarClp) is exactly the same between all the timecyc files. The file sizes are slightly different, along with the addition of a newline character inserted after each commented line on the PC version. It would be prudent to verify your information before posting, otherwise it makes you look incompetent.

Comparison files

I suggest viewing the files in a proper text editor, and not Notepad. I used Context.

DexX and VF94, thank you for all your help. GTASanAndreas12345 get the f*ck out of this topic if you got nothing good to share. There's difference. And right now I can see it in my own PC. I got what I wanted.

How can I have reflections on the cars just like the ps2?
I heard that you need to edit the gta sa.exe, but how?

The reflection in GTA SA PS2 edition is hard-coded in the .exe file. You can try SAGFX and see for yourself.

Do like what you see above? If yes than download Things To Do in San Andreas mod, open exe with 7-zip and extract stream.ini & timecyc.dat. I think its the best tweaked & nearest to ps2 version graphics ever made.

I have installed TTDISA and that is a very good mod. However I don't think it is close to PS2 graphics. And what are the screenshots showing?

*facepalm*
Different lighting, shadows, draw distance, sky colors. And I think its pretty similar to ps2, just without "orange environment" that was made with "motion trails" effect which (unlike previous 3D GTA-s) unavailable on PC.

For PS2 reflections you can use sagfx_lite, which can be found here:

Appreciate it H3NR1QU3. and I got that Alt but it could be possible by very good modders. The orange environment perfectly matches with GTA San Andreas. However I aint worrying about that much because you can have similar environment by changing timecyc.dat.

It is a pity that it does not work on sagfx_lite motorcycles.

I will try those PS2 timecyc(p)s posted and see if they work on PC.

I made a back-up off the orignials tounge.gif

EDIT: It works and i am glad it did but to get the effect you will have to turn down the brightness a bit.

It's a bitch that the motion-blur mod doesn't work with Things To Do In San Andreas. If that would have worked, it'd look almost exactly like PS2 version.

By the way VF94, can you send me Stream.ini again?

Arghh, here dozingoff.gif
By the way this mod doesn't look good for me and lags my game mercie_blink.gif I prefer to use UltraThing and have real-time reflections without terrible performance hit. Thats just my opinion, no disrespect to DexX.

The thing with this mod is that the reflection or whatever is white although no doubt a good mod. This mod doesn't give me any lag.

by the way. is UltraThing real time reflection the same looking as this?

motion blur like in ps2 version can be added with Motion Blur Advanced by Alexander, but you need a some time to set it.also, you can use enbseries or color mod with palette textures.if you need to set your timecycle, you can use TimecycSA(you can find it on GTAGarage) or SATimecycle
