I think it's a decent tune but something about it stops it from being great.

Also, no love for Alphaville?

My favourite song at the moment. f*cking quality.

I agree that's a great song, first time I've heard it but I love it.

Ah, it's been a while since I've heard that song. Good stuff icon14.gif

But isn't this the 80s music thread?

sh*t, I just found out their not 80's. Damn bassically when I first heard the song in Italy on the TV I instantly thought it was 80's because...it just sounds 80's if you get what I mean, no way does it sound like any of today's modern music (IMO). Sorry about that, yes this is the 80's music thread I should know all too well I created the damn thread, I just thought that song was 80's.

Gonna add some Every1 should partake a listen to:

If you look REAL close/hard, you can see bassist Randy Jackson in the band, he of Journey and American Idol judge fame, he also has a bass instructional vid

Here's a stereo version with the album sleeve;

The guitarist for the band Axe died in an unfortunate accident. The band then opted to disband...

Neal Schon ...he of JOURNEY fame!!
And Jan Hammer .... He of MIAMI VICE music creator fame. They teamed mid-1980s to make Schon & Hammer
Using the Arm and Hammer product logo, pretty comic. Well, I just found the hit I knew so well, so long ago, it seems almost foreign now! haha

Here are, in my oppinion, two of the very few good songs to come out of Sweden in the 80's.

And no, I don't really care for ABBA.

I know this one has been posted before, but I just feel like saying it. This has GOT to be one of my favorite songs! Ever since I first heard it in The Breakfast Club!

A couple of other Simple Minds tracks I like

As for other artists/groups, these are some other favorites.

^^^^This one is probably my second-favorite song

There's still tons more 80s tracks than these that I love, though. Just too many to list here.

I love that duet with Bryan Adams and Tina Turner "It's Only Love"....and that's all!

I do like the song but I more prefer "Maneater" or "Out Of Touch" (I won't post "Out Of Touch" as I think someone else may have posted that song in here already). Or even "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" for that matter.

The lyrics aren't spot on but this is a newer upload, stereo, of a 1980 Cultusarus Erectus track, Blue Oyster Cult ....the same LP with BLACK BLADE on it and The Marshall Plan!!
Love this one though...

Also from the animated classic HEAVY METAL...

Don Felder SINGS on this famous track, he of THE EAGLES fame, WROTE Hotel California, the complete music, Henley wrote and sang the lyrics

^ Aren't they all? Here's ELP with Cozy Powell on drums, under-rated 1986 release, I had this on tape, and it was not something I sought out but I gave it a chance and listened to the whole album

Kieth Emerson, Greg Lake and normally Carl Palmer are ELP traditionally. Cozy has since passed away but played with Rainbow and MSG and is noted as one of the best drummers

Oh man... i thought i had never heard about Night Ranger before... i did, but then after listening to "Sister Christian" i thought: damn! I've heard that one before... heh.

The guitar solo from the middle of the "Touch of Madness" is great!

She's So Cold by The Rolling Stones. It is the gem of their Emotional Rescue album. I happen to like this song as the band branched of into electronic-styled music quite well with this song.

Let's see some love for Phil Collins! These are his best songs in my oppinion. "Take me Home" is a song I can really relate to. And well, just listening to "Two Hearts" puts a big smile on your face, wouldnt you agree? smile.gif

Yeah, Phil is cool alright. I'll never forget the "In The Air Tonight" late night drive scene from Miami Vice. Classic and one of the greatest moments of television history.

Listening to "One More Night" right now.

Long live Phil.

^^ All fantastic Collins stuff, I am sad he's retired from recording and performing

Remember VAN ZANT!?? I saw this in the dawn of music video's age and I've not seen it in years, literally. A most important stepping stone to SKYNYRD reunion

Of course, ACCEPT an 80s standard

More Phil Collins. This has to be one of the most deepest songs I ever heard. The man sings from his soul.
