Aside from the obvious choices from Vice City (Blonde, Flock Of Seagulls, ABC just to mention a few) I'm going to have to say that Grace Jones is one of my favourite artists of the 80s, particularly the album Nightclubbing. She has this voice that I think has so much behind it.

One of my fav Grace Jones tracks. icon14.gif

Hey all 80's music Lover...guys!! Glad to see this thread is being appreciated, The 80's were Insane, even though I wasn't born until the mid-nineties, why coudn't my parents have me by accident sooner!

Anyway, was watching Hot Rod the other day and I seem to love this song! Just Great!

No freaking way!! Europe was actually part of a conversation I had today. I made the remark that they are the only band that ever just put out one album - and that was a greatest hits album with just one song.

Yeah I love that song too, only I never actually thought it was by europe, Love it though although have heard it a great many times.

Todd Rundgren was underrated.

This was at the end of Dumb & Dumber.. and was a couple of years pre-80s

This was in 82.

Early Cure is really good. Robert Smith went through some weird phases though, some of them a little too much for me.

I think of this song sometimes when I'm listening to IV radio. Similar vocal tones to some of the female-voiced songs. This is a lot more wild though, in its own way.

Was obligated to add at least one New Order/Joy Divison track.

Definitely cannot forget Simple Minds. Their album New Gold Dream (81828384) is probably one of my favorites, second to Once Upon A Time.

Gotta love those dreamy eighties synths!

Meh, my mistake. Thought Staying alive was released in 1983 with the movie named the same. Didn't see the Outfielders post either when i went through the pages. Thanks for the heads up. I'll just edit out the mistake and replace it with these little gems:

edit: Lol that would've been the third time "Out of Touch" was posted. Didn't recognize Sanjeem posted it also

Hope this isn't a repeat

Edit:
Holy crap, I have the weirdest sh*t coming up while I sit here with my MP3 drive on random.
I don't think this has been posted yet and I can't believe it...100% required 80s

Last edit:
Thanks to the Tom Tom Club, my wife asked if Pass the Dutchie was on our drive. I said yes.
I don't care if it is a repeat tounge.gif .

Edit(because my wife said so - repeat or not)

Ok one more edit:
Again, thanks to the Tom Tom Club, I am now playing DJ of 80s music for my wife. She asked me to put on Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll. Then I got a nice memory. I was at a huge outdoor summer concert in like '82. REM(no one knew who they were), Joan Jett, Madness, and The Police, and a few other smaller bands. I just now realized I was there at the height of I Love Rock and Roll and the huge stadium sing along biggrin.gif blush.gif

I know I'm guilty of posting some songs that were already posted. I do try to stay up on stuff and even skim back to try and not post something that is already here.

I swear I did not see this classic by A-Ha posted yet

For me, once I started enjoying this song again, memorable because my eldest sister's name has ALWAYS been Leah, She knows the song too, I couldn't get it outtta my head

Donnie Iris doesn't at all look like your typical rockstar, but this song is really timeless, and it's just an example of fine song craftsmanship

I'd forgotten the last gem, but this is it for your pleasure to enjoy....timeless, classic, all that!
