Here's a one-hit wonder from the 80s that I've always been into. Kinda cheesy, but I still love the song. There's some kind of charm to it, it cheers me up when I hear it.

Also, a Live Aid favorite of mine.

Honest, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" has got to be one of my favorite songs ever, and Simple Minds' performance was among favorites from Live Aid (next to Queen's and Bowie's performances, which came on before and after Simple Minds).

If I had could have only one song on a deserted island, that would be it.

Oddly enough I know Edward Tudor-Pole better from his time spent hosting "The Crystal Maze" than in "Tenpole Tudor". biggrin.gif

-EDIT-

Many people tend to say that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is their favourite Queen song, but this one is my favourite.

Ah, don't forget this song from the classic comedy adventure BIG SHOTS (BTW, you kids, all of you, make a night out of seeing the movie, it's a good family flick I saw back in 1989 IIRC)

R.I.P. Joe Seneca (starred in '86's CROSSROADS, and love the old guy! He was great
Also starring in the film is Terminator's Paul Winfield!)

I know a friend who's glad I took a liking to this song, normally the band bores me! hahaha

A late entry, Searching dug this classic up, I had it archived to audio cassette, vintage!

Brad Fidel for the Win, that theme intro is awesome
I'm stumped on an 80s one-hit wonder, not sure how to jog my memory since it's on a cassette tape buried in my storage
I can just recall what tape it might be on (generic blanks with familiar labels! haha)

Anywho, that Payolas song jogged my memory about it....

Sly Fox, can't find the original single, but there are some VERSIONS of what I was thinking of

Can you guys stream it from Grooveshark? This appears the original I know so well.... at least DID

1983, UFO's Making Contact was an interesting slab, but the band's supposed Swan song at the time, it was a shock to me, because I was buying up all their albums at that time and just becoming aware, since 1980, so I missed their 1970s lineup successes. I've been die Hard UFO fan ever since being exposed to them

REMASTERED STEREO on the second UFO 1980 clip, from German TV, awesome, CHECK IT!

Atomik Tommy M (McClendon) took over with Phil Mogg and Co, Jim Simpson on drums, and Paul Gray of the Damned joined in 1985, and I think, 1988, an EP; Ain't Misbehavin'
Some dispute on what is UFO as it's always Phil Mogg on vocals, so....really, as long as it's an effort not to diminish the legacy, I'm happy

Whilst browsing videos of New York on YouTube, this song suddenly came to mind, and is the same song that I would play (along with Frank S. NY NY) if I ever make it to the Big Apple:

I might have missed it, but I've not noticed anything from The Clash in here yet:

And a UK sporting favourite that I've found myself whistling all day:

Ah what the hell. I hated when the Dead started playing this(partially because it usually started with a Saint Steven teaser) in the 80's...after a couple shows of it, I guess it grew on me.

Traffic's Dear Mr. Fantasy.

Not my favorite, but never hated that song.
Steve Winwood was blessed with one of the best singing voices, let's face it

My boy, the late Earl Root. He got a minor hit with the original Disturbed WTF...
Ah, the sounds of Metal in the air....

Here's four top songs of my choice from the '80s; She's So Cold by The Rolling Stones, Money for Nothing by Dire Straits, Pride by U2 and Destroyer by The Kinks.

I've loved Destroyer since I first heard it, the album came out while I was still in High School, at the same time too, Red Rider's Lunatic Fringe.... As Far as Siam, bought that LP new as well.

Late 80s share, I know I culled it before, but it's SOOOOO DAMN GOOD!

Nice find, Slash with a Warlock BC Rich! I know he's played and owned them before

From a 2010 Rush interview with CNN, this is one of the coolest of cool clips, the interviewing TV host jams with the band!!

Great song - "The Touch" performed by Stan Bush.
From The Transformers: The Movie (1986) soundtrack.
80's sure had the best and the greatest movie soundtracks.

The shoe companies battling over Tebow, funny it's in the news as I type this, John Parr is most known for his 80s contributions, but he's still around thanks to the Web resurgence, it is impacting artists who never got proper promotion in the old days

It's not just a fan edit, this sheds light on the story behind the song, I urge fans a listen;
