I play most of my games on my 40" Full HDTV @ 1920x1080 @ 60Hz res. Every game works fine and loads up in this res and refresh rate, but after I changed to the new 160.22 nvidia drivers GTA IV is automatically loading up @ 1920x1080 @ 24Hz, whereas my other games are fine and still load up @ 1920x1080 @ 60Hz.

So how can I get GTAIV to load up @1920x1080 @ 60HZ? I had this problem with Crysis and Crysis Warhead but I was able to fix it by pressing alt+enter to toggle between window mode and fullscreen mode ingame, where if I kept doing that it would eventaully switch to 60HZ fullscreen @ 1920x1080. But GTAIV I cannot toggle between window and fullscreen mode ingame.

Do you mean that your resolution setting is not getting saved? In that case, try deleting all files from the Settings folder.
Windows XP SP3 - C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings
Windows Vista - C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings
Windows 7 - C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings

Remove the driver and try installing it again.

I dont think it is a driver problem, because all my other games still come up normally 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, only gtaIV doesnt, where it comes up @ 24Hz.

the resolution is saved, it loads as 1920x1080, but it loads as 24Hz not the 60Hz its suppose 2 like my other games. 24Hz has distorted looking colour, and is very unsmooth.

It's not getting saved with the desired refresh rate, is it? Just try deleting those files and report back if it makes any difference.

Or are you trying to say that you're not able to change the refresh rate once the game has started?

Hi, no worries, I fixed this by messing around with custom resolution profiles in nvidia control panel.

I just had to create a custom 1920x1080 @ 60Hz profile because for some reason this was not available in the default resolution profiles even though this is what my natural resolution was set to.
