Well, there you go. Guess that will work out just fine then. That also should help me make the new EFLC registry load. It might be easier to be able to rename EFLC.exe. I bet I can modify LaunchEFLC.exe so it will take Ghostown.exe instead, depends on what exe controls where the DLC load. By doing this, I might be able to get GTA IV to work like EFLC, and not need GFWL to load the episodes. That means the IV version could actually runs on top of TBoGT. It will allow the height limit to be 2X. This may not be possible though. With making it use its own registry entries, it will allow me to pull off some stuff to separate it from the normal game.

I'll have to do some testing. It might be a little harder for me as Rockstar gave me the Steam version of EFLC for my damaged disk. It may have to run on a cracked version of the game. Should be fine though because it won't work unless you unpack the files on top an existing install. I'll just need an EFLC crack that doesn't have any annoying intros, and has other things fixed. A cracked game would be easier as it will be the same for everyone, regardless if you have the disk or the Steam version.

You sure it would work like that?

I believe its important how many bits there are, as Gostown has less characters it means less bits. You are free to experiment with this, but i don't think it will work this easy.

Most likely it won't work at all. You should take care about the length of the string to replace which must have the same or more characters of the replacing string. The null-terminator (00) is essential to know the last non-null byte of a string and thus it must be placed only at the end. You cannot substitute part of a string, otherwise the Hex editor would fill the remaining characters with empty bytes. Therefore, when modifying a string by accessing to raw data you have to overwrite every character from a specific point until the end of the string itself (at most till the last null byte).

Thanks, it seems I have the same, and it doesn't work. However IV's paths.img is like 1.4 Mb, this paths.img is only like 350 Kb. I have no idea what other file might have the traffic.

I can't DL beta1 since it's a torrent, which I assume noone is seeding, and it is really huge, while all I need is 1 file from it.

GTARandom was referring to nkjellman, but I was speaking to all of you. It might work depending on how the string gets processed. I don't have the executable where inspecting into for giving a certain answer.

Ofcourse, it's always on, I even tried disabling it and enabling it, but that didn't work. Anyway there might be a problem on my end, since I just installed route 66's paths and while I can see traffic in the city, there are absolutely no traffic on route 66. I just dunno what would cause that.

Is it possible to use multiplayer on this? The phone is disabled, so I was wondering if it was actually possible.

Also, is there a way to disable the video editor F7 button?

Oh, maybe I know. zzcool (taltigolt) had the same problem because he was using custom cars and someone (I believe it was Blaster_nl) answered him that it was because his cars was too much high poly or something like that, I can't remember exactly.

It starts up perfectly, and is very fun. The mod crashes constantly, though. Even when I stay closer to sea level and don't go up the mountain it crashes.

EDIT: It seems to be a memory leak.

So here is my small "contribution"...
I fixed the Zombie SCO code - it works now and loads faster (5 instead 30 sec.)

DOWNLOAD

Copy this into " Gostown Beta2\pc\data\maps\gp\mods\zombie "!

The problem is, one of these files has an bug:
..\Gostown Beta2\common\data\ gta_zombie.dat
..\Gostown Beta2\common\data\gostown_img\ zombie.txt

I can't see any "land" (see pic below!)

Hey, to whoever wants to try this, could you make a police station at this location? It's just an empty field, and you can actually drop suspects/detainees off with LCPDFR.

this is second part to maps , in beta 2 he haven't any LODs , and long time ago i wanted to ALL maps have LODs and this week i have make this , LODS for second maps , and the result is .... good ? biggrin.gif

Terreur, since you are kind of back right now, I would like to adress an issue. The screenshot you posted in the openFormats topic made me remember it again:

You see the windows? The frame around the glass reflects just ast much as the glass itself. That means you either didn't make a specular texture at all, or your spec texture is fully white.

A quick, well working, noob way to make a specular like this is to open the texture in photoshop, place white rectangles on the glass, and leave the rest (the frame) black.
