I don't know. Something about it just put me off. It looks really cheesy to me. They should make it available to the new Heavy Melee class only.

Well lets face it, it can't look any worse than the scene from Arrival where Shepard knocks out two guys that are wearing full body armour with his/her bare hands tounge2.gif . I have never really gone for this Melee fighting stuff, if anyone gets close enough to my shep for me to use Melee then I obviously didn't shoot enough.

It has been a pretty quiet day news wise for ME 3. I think we have seen all that we are going to see game play wise now. According to David Silverman the head marketing guy the four demo trailers were :-
  1. The Kinect Demo
  2. The Reaper Chase Scene
  3. Combat Demo
  4. Emotional Earth Level
So if you have seen all the above then you have seen all that there is at the moment. There has also been a few pictures taken by the team at E3 :-

From left to right we have Corey Gaspur, Casey Hudson, Jesse Houston and Reid Buckmaster

There is a new preview on OXM covering the "behind the closed doors" demo that happened last night.

http://www.oxm.co.uk.../mass-effect-3/

If you have watched the demo's then there are no real spoilers in the article. Although you do find out what happened to that little boy in the demo. There are also a couple of new screenshots obviously taken from the demo in that article too :-

Thanks for posting that video CC, it was a shame it didn't really have anything new but i guess it was nice to see all the demo gameplay they had in one long video as opposed to it being broke up.

Also I've pre-ordered my copy of the Collectors Edition, I can't wait until it comes out but I just wish I had the collectors edition for ME1 so I have all 3 by the time ME3 comes around.

Got some more screenies for you, it seems Bioware have been listening to fan requests and are now showing off the new interface and RPG features :-

Apologies for the quality they were taken from a fairly low res stream. You can watch the Stream where Casey talks about RPG features here :-

http://e3.gamespot.com/live-show/

Just go to 18:00 into the time stream the Casey Interview starts about there. I haven't had a chance to listen to it so I do not know if there are any spoilers so BEWARE.

6 skill levels? Good enough I guess. On a side note, Liara is hot.

It's probably how much they like you like that stupid sh*t from Dragon Age 2. If I'm right I'll use a trainer to set it the way I want because I hate that stuff.

Some more pics from the Gamespot stream, this time they show potential locations in the game. I haven't embedded them because some might want to keep in the dark about potential locations :-

Was anybody watching the Gamespot live stream when that guy asked Casey Hudson about Elcor husks?

I haven't seen the Gamespot stream other than the little bit about skill, but I remember that from the IGN stream yesterday. That would've been funnier had the guy not been such a huge dweeb. I kept thinking that I was watching a live-action Artie from the older episodes of The Simpsons... Does the Gamespot stream bring anything new to the table? Seems like they're rehashing the same two maps over and over. And will the interview with Hudson later tonight be fresh material?

By the way, is it just me or does the skill tree advancement screen look awfully 90s? I wonder how much it's going to change until the end.

Genuine enthusiasm: I was. Luckily Casey was joking about the possibility of adding them to the game. I'd hate to have to kill elcor.

I like everything I've seen so far. And I have a feeling the opening mission will be a blast. Just the fact that Anderson will accompany you really give you that feeling like this is really the beginning of the end [of Mass Effect trilogy], a full circle. Maybe it's just me but that's what I felt.

This is probably the game I want most from E3.

I will not be talking to a mic except in combat though...

It WOULD be nice if when you spoke, you didn't have to hear shepard do the same exact thing as if you just pushed the button - THEN it would be immersive... But saying takes longer than a button, for the same outcome, that's just corny.

Still gonna be awesome.

The demo on that link I posted didn't show any new footage. But they did answer a few questions. One of them was PC specs. They're aiming at similar if not the same specs of Mass Effect 2. Not really surprising. You can't make a game look much better with UT3 engine than it did in ME2.

Wrex, we're coming!

Thanks CC for posting the pics. Looks like we're going to back to the ol' ME1 level up system but stick with the ME2 skill points system?

I have never played DA2, but I wouldnt mind karma points for my squadmates. If it means different dialouge if they are Paragon or Renegade then f*ck yeah!

Actually the leveling up system is quite different from both ME1 and ME2. You have 6 skill levels and when you gain a level you can of course chose which skill to upgrade. But it goes beyond that because you can chose how you want to upgrade it. For example if you want to upgrade one of your biotic powers you can chose if you want to upgrade it's duration, damage, radius etc. You couldn't chose to do that in previous ME games. You could only chose which skill to upgrade, not how to upgrade it. So it's a deeper system.

Oh yeah I just look at those pics again and it is certainly deeper.

Just read Gamespot preview and I'm loving this piece of info.

Shepard's omni-tool has also changed so that it's not just for hacking robots or stealing credits. Depending on which class you play, the device will have a new ability for you to use. As a soldier, our omni-tool came equipped with a short blade designed to relieve an enemy's guts from his body.

Good riddance Omni-Blade for me then tounge.gif

LOL I don't think Bioware is stupid enough to bring DA2 into this. Imagine the sh*tstorm if people start thinking DA2 was better YIKES!
Their still getting hate for it.

BTW I LOVE the Omni Blade... The possibilities in melee is saweet... I am so going stealthy my first play.

The Milky Way? We'll be able to visit other galaxies? I thought we were done with that after Omega-4 or whatever the last mission in ME2 was called. That's pretty cool.

Don't get your hopes up about visiting different Galaxies, there is every chance that Milky Way text is just place holder text I am afraid. It would be nice idea mind you but don't expect it.

Anyway who is up for new footage ? Yeahhhhhhhhhh :-

It starts off with old footage then about 20 secs in you get to see combat in some different areas. There are no real spoilers but once again you watch it at your own risk.

You'd imagine they'd have the name of the planetary systems down by now. You're probably right, but a man can dream.

Loved Shep beating the living hell out of a guy with his weapon, heh. Not much ambient sound going at this point in the development. Sounds a bit empty, doesn't it? It really makes you appreciate the sound work that goes in to games. TV too, for that matter. If anyone has seen the shooting of a TV show the first thing you'll notice is the sound. Good stuff.

the paragorn and renegade bars are just a bug apperently, it just doesn't go away even when you enter "liara" or whoever.

(according to the interview they are doing right now)

so you wont need to worry about bumming garrus.

Charles, video doesn't work. Or is it just me?

Ugh I'm having the worst ME1 playthrough of my life. I currently have only Kaidan, Liara and Tali in my squad. I did not recruit Garrus and Ashley anf Wrex died in Virmire.

And I'm a Vanguard so there's no one who can use Assault Rifles in my squad now!

Hey you guys think that the ME2 anomaly missions will have any impact in ME3? Because I'm too lazy ass to go through all that.

Did you check these four videos :-

- The Kinect Demo
- The Reaper Chase Scene
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BhvQS98stY - Combat Demo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqrniKpEYic - Emotional Earth Level

That is essentially all the ingame footage they showed this year at E3. I have just checked and all 4 videos are still up on Youtube so they should work.

Meanwhile Christina Norman did an interesting tweet last night. She suggested that squad mates may not work exactly the same way as they did in ME 1 and ME 2. Not quite sure what that is supposed to mean but can't wait to find out.

Yeah, don't do what I did. Just met Garrus in ME2, there's only a slight change of the dialouge. Bullsh*t, did not recruit Garrus in ME1 just for that encounter.
