Just had a quick browse through this thread and I'm wondering what your motives for this project. Do you hope to turn it into a game someday or is it simply to be enjoyed by reading? Haven't got a chance to read it yet cause I'm at work but I'm going to give it a look.

Nah man it's just a concept like a fan made story for an imaginary game with characters from GTA IV. It might take you a while to read through the whole thing since the chapters are quite long. I had intended to put a plot summary on the first page but I never got around to it and with V coming out next week it doesn't look like I'll be doing it anytime soon. In fact once I have the next part of chapter 12 posted I probably wont be posting the climax (which is probably the biggest mission in the story) for a while. If you do read even some of it though be sure to tell me what you think.. I'm always open to hearing what people think.

Chapter 12 - Part 2

The phone in Carlo's apartment will ring and he will answer it to find the building's receptionist on the other end.

Carlo: "Hello?"

Receptionist: "Mr. Devino, there's a gentleman here to see you"

Carlo: "Hmm.. ok send him up"

Receptionist: "He's already on his way sir.. I asked him to wait but he wouldn't"

Carlo: "Ok thanks"

Receptionist: "Uhh.. I'm sorry sir"

Carlo will hang up the phone and grab his gun from a nearby table, anticipating the arrival of his unexpected visitor. After a couple of moments there will be a knock at the door and Carlo will cautiously open it to find Nicky Bottino standing on the other side, head bowed waiting for an answer.

Carlo: "Oh it's you"

Nicky: "What d'you mean?"

Carlo: "You got some f*cking balls showing your face here I'll give you that"

Nicky: "What the f*ck are you talking about?"

Carlo: "That little stunt you pulled on the job, hightailing it outta there and leaving me to get my ass shot to pieces"

Nicky: "Hold on a f*cking minute now I don't even know you and you expect me to put my life on the line because you don't know how to get a job done!?"

Carlo: "I know how to get a job done just fine.. but that.. that was a f*cking set up is what it was"

Nicky: "A set up!? You don't know what the f*ck you're talking about.. Philly wouldn't do that"

Carlo: "Oh no?"

Nicky: "No. If he had wanted you dead would he have sent me over here to give you more work?"

Carlo: "I don't know!"

Nicky: "You wanted in on this thing.. if you wanna back out now then fine, go f*ck yourself"

Carlo (pausing to think for a minute): "Well that depends.. what does he want me to do?"

Nicky: "He didn't say. He just told me to come over here and get you and meet him in Alazone's"

Carlo (pausing again): "Ok but I'm not doing any more f*cking drugs deals, I'll tell you that now"

The two men will head downstairs and you will be instructed to get into Nicky's Oracle which will be parked outside, at which point a marker will be set on your GPS for Alazone's in Broker. On the journey over there Carlo and Nicky will get to talking and Nicky will admit that when he heard the gunshots he thought that Carlo was dead and say that he's pretty impressed that he managed to get out of there alive.

When you get to Alazone's Nicky will tell Carlo to park in a loading bay. Carlo will ask him if he's sure since he's pretty sure that it's illegal but Nicky will tell him to relax, that they will only be away for a few minutes and that he parks there all the time. After exiting the car the two men will enter the store and make their way to the back where they will be greeted by Philly.

As the men approach he will walk towards Carlo with open arms and pat him on his shoulders like a mother who had just found a lost child in a crowded shopping mall "There he is.. and still in one piece". Carlo wanting to demonstrate his anger will push Philly away and tell him sternly "Yeah no thanks to you". Philly will try in vain to attempt to convince Carlo that he's misreading the situation saying "Come on.. I'll admit that was an oversight on my part and for that I'm sorry" Carlo not letting Philly work him over will fire back with "Them esses was pissed off just like you knew they'd be". Seeing that his manipulation tactics have failed Philly will then try to rationalise by telling him "I didn't know they were gonna start shooting.. I.. I.." Carlo will cut him short anticipating another weasley excuse "What's your f*ckin problem with me?" and Philly will finally come clean about his intentions knowing that Carlo will not be fooled "Listen I just had to make sure you weren't a cop ok"

Carlo (as angry as ever): "A f*cking cop? I was vouched for by the Messinas.. you think they're in the business of passing on UCs?"

Philly: "Actually that's what made me suspicious. You see I hear they got a rat in their camp"

Carlo: "And you had to make sure it wasn't me huh?"

Philly: "Which is why I sent you on that job. You see it's in my interests to be familiar with the law and I know that cops in this state can't carry out drug deals without making an arrest.. and those six bodies I read about in the paper.. well they just about sealed your faith as pork free. Plus it showed me that you aint afraid to get your hands dirty.. I could use a guy like you"

Carlo: "So you called me over here to give me some wet work is that it"

Philly: "Relax I don't want you to kill nobody.. I just need you to boost me a van that's all"

Carlo: "Why do you need me to do it? Aint you got your own guys who can do it for you"

Philly: "Well you're not gonna be riding alone. This is a three man job, I got two of my guys going along with you for moral support. It's gonna be you, Nicky and Dino.. the three musketeers"

Carlo: "Oh yeah? And who's Dino?"

Just as he asks this a young man about Carlo's age will step out from the shadows of an unlit part of warehouse and say "I am"

Philly: "Carlo this is Dino Ziferelli"

Dino: "Hey how you doin'"

Carlo: "Listen, it's great that you have your little crew together but what makes you think I'm gonna say yes?"

Philly: "Oh you're gonna say yes and when you find out what we're planning you're gonna be glad you did"

Carlo looks at Nicky and then towards Dino who both give him a reassuring nod of confidence

Carlo: "Ok.. so where can we find this van?"

It's parked in a lock up in Bohan that belongs to some Russians

Carlo (shaking his head): "I shoulda known this wasn't gonna be easy"

Philly: "It's gonna be a piece of cake I promise you. You're just gonna slip in and take the van before those Rusky f*cks even realise what's going on"

Carlo: "If it's that straightforward why do you need three of us?"

Philly (looking at Nicky): "In case somebody decides to run"

Nicky: "Haw Haw very funny Phil"

Philly: "Do you see me laughing?"

Nicky will look towards the floor, showing his remorse

At this point the store clerk Alberto will enter the warehouse from the front of the store. "Hey Nicky is that your car parked out front"

Nicky: "Yeah why?"

Alberto: "Cause there's a traffic cop out there writing you a ticket"

Nicky: "Motherf*cker! Aint they got nothin better to do"

Philly: "I think you better go and handle that Nicky these two can ride in tandem on this one"

Dino will step forward and say "Yeah Phil, we got this" and then pat Carlo on his left shoulder before gesturing him to leave

Philly: "Bring it back here when you're done"

Dino (walking away with Carlo): "Sure thing skip"

Carlo and Dino will walk outside and Carlo will spot a Freeway parked up alongside the kerb and approach it assuming it to be Dino's ride.

Carlo: "When Philly said we were going to be riding in tandem he wasn't kidding was he"

Dino: "Do I look like a smelly biker to you? My car's around the corner.. where Nick shoulda parked"

The two men will then walk around the corner and get into Dino's Vincent at which point a waypoint will be set on your map for a lock up in Bohan Industrial. On the journey over there Carlo will question Dino about what exactly Philly is putting together at first Dino will tell him he's not allowed to say but after a bit of pushing he will say that he's planning to rob millions of dollars worth of cargo from Francis International Airport and the van that they're going to steal has been specially fitted with armour plating which will come in handy should the heist go wrong and they need to escape from the Feds.

After a short drive the men will arrive at their destination and get out of the car. As they approach the lockup they will notice two guards outside armed with submachine guns. Carlo will suggest that they take a stealthy approach and sneak up on the guards however Dino will point out that the door to the lockup is closed and whoever's inside isn't gonna open up for anybody but the guards so the best course of action would be to flush them out by shooting the guards. As soon as the guards have been dealt with the door will open and the van will speed out of the lockup like a hound out of the gates and begin hightailing it out of there prompting you to go after it but not before you deal with some more guards who will emerge from the lock up. There will be a PCJ 600 conveniently parked up outside but you can opt to take the more time consuming option of running back to Dino's car. Taking the bike however will yield you some extra dialogue in which Dino will say to Carlo "looks like you got your wish afterall" and Carlo will reply "far from it.. every time I ride one of these things something bad happens".

Whichever option you choose the van will no doubt have gained a good bit of distance on you. When you draw relatively close to the van Dino will foolishly try to shoot it to a halt prompting Carlo to point out his idiocy. Several cars full of Russians will now begin to pursue you. Dino will task himself with taking them out while you to try to get in front of the van so he can shoot out the windscreen and cause it to stop for the taking. This will be no easy task however since the van will weave dangerously along the freeway and then through traffic meaning that you will need to drive cautiously in order to avoid being thrown from the bike.

If you stay in pursuit of the van for long enough without managing to get in front of it (without letting it get away) there will be a scripted event whereby Carlo (as part of a cutscene) will pull up alongside the van and spotting a stunt jump will veer off towards it, driving up the ramp at speed allowing the trajectory of the jump to get beyond the van. As you are in the air Dino will let off a flurry of bullets which will shatter the windscreen and end the life of the driver inside. Your vehicle will then land on the road and come to a screeching halt and you will be instructed to steal it.

Either way once you have commandeered the van you will be instructed to drive it to Native American Engines in Broker so that a friend of Dino's can fix up the windscreen. When you reach the garage Dino will tell Carlo that he will take it from there and that somebody will give him a call when the heist is about to go down.

I like it man, the picture you paint of Nicky's incompetence was done well, as was the banter between him and Philly, and the character of Dino...perhaps Dino fulfils the whole "guy like you" thing; Carlo may be useful, but there's always another hired gun waiting to take the big money.  I like it, Dino seemed like a pretty cool character.

Thanks man. Yeah I wanted to give Dino a bit of a buddy vibe.. he will be going along with Carlo on a couple of more jobs and he's pretty much his equal as far as a standing within the Mafia goes.

Apologies for the double post but I just wanted to let people know that I should be back working on this topic pretty soon since I haven't got much left to do to distract me in GTA V. Speaking of GTA V in the mission "The Construction Assassination" I noticed there's a mob boss named Enzo Bonelli who's involved in construction and I have a mission that has Carlo protecting some out of town mobsters who want to set up a casino venture with Artie Zapulla of the Pavano Family so I've made a slight change in description of said mission to make the mobsters be Bonelli's guys since it fits better than them just being some no marks from Upstate or Carcer City.

I haven't really caught up with this concept in the last few months, but now that it's stated in GTA V that Sammy Bottino turned rat on the Gambettis, are you going to work that into the story or just leave it?

Sammy didn't turn rat until 2011 so no I wont be including it in the story since it takes place in 2008.

Spoiler

EDIT: In regards to Sammy though I had originally planned to have him come out of hiding for Gravelli's funeral and get arrested but his backstory in GTA V states that he wasn't captured until 2011. I don't know wether to have him make a fleeting appearance at the funeral now or just have him remain unseen. Anybody got any suggestions??

I know I said I would be getting back into this topic but I just keep putting it off. I'm gonna try my best to finish out chapter 12 before the end of the year. There's something big just around the corner which could be the end of the topic or not (depending on whether or not I decide to continue it). I really want to finish the story as I intended, which involves writing another 7 chapters (20 or so missions) after this one but I really just don't have the passion for it anymore.

Chapter 12 - Part 3

A short time after completing the last assignment Carlo will get a text to meet Philly at a Gambetti owned social club on Saponi Avenue in South Slopes. When you get there Carlo will walk inside to find Philly sitting by the bar reading the Liberty City Post. As Carlo approaches he will look up from the tabloid and address him

Philly: "You read the newspapers kid?"

Carlo: "Yeah.. sometimes.."

Philly (placing the paper on the bar): "You ever hear of those big shot drug trafficers and cartel bosses and their pretty little Latin trophy bitches getting busted while trying to transport millions of dollars in cash in their carry ons at the airport?"

Carlo (looking a little perplexed): "Yeah?"

Philly: "One of my guys Petey is putting a crew together.. we're gonna steal it"

Carlo stays silent waiting for it all to make sense

Philly: "When the cash is confiscated airport security stores it on site in an evidence locker inside one of the hangers. I guess they think it's safer than driving it across town in an armoured van and risking the owners stealing it back"

Carlo: "Like us you mean?"

Philly: "Well yeah but the thing is nobody knows we're gonna steal it.. except you, me, the rest of the crew and our man on the inside"

Carlo: "And who might that be?"

Philly: "Some deadbeat security guard who's in to me for about ten G's. He said he'd tell me how to rob the place if I didn't pay a visit to his wife and kids... not that I would or anything but he knows if anything happens to him I don't get my money back. The guy's a f*cking degenerate gambler but he has some sense at least. Plus your friend Harry said he'd fix him up with a hotel room and a nice piece of tail if he took the night off so none of this sh*t can be traced back to him.

Carlo: "A hooker and a hotel room... so much for the wife and kids"

Philly: "He can't love them that much if he's betting away their future on a lousy card game. Plus it gives him an alibi. The last thing I want is for this thing to go swimmingly and the insider getting snatched up and selling us all down the river to save his own ass.

Carlo: "So how much are you willing to net on this job?"

Philly: "With the amount of international crime bosses that have interests in LC I'm thinking somewhere in the region of six figures at least.. I get ten percent"

Carlo: "That much huh? And what if the locker's been cleared out and we get nothing? Why not just be traditional and rob a bank or some safety deposit boxes? Unless you think you're some kind of gangster Robin Hood who takes from the bad guys and give to himself.. is that it?"

Philly: "Yeah somethin like that. But I'd say it's more of a calculated risk, you see I'm thinking the cops are a lot less likely to follow this thing up if we're robbing money from our fellow criminals than if we were robbing people's hard earned savings from a bank"

Carlo: "That seems very noble but aren't you afraid that some dangerous people are gonna escape conviction because of this?"

Philly: "Aw boo f*cking hoo so a couple of scumbags walk free.. what a great tragedy. I think I'll dry my tears in the big stack of hundreds you're gonna rob for me. If you're gonna get all moral on me I'm thinking maybe you aren't the right guy for this thing"

Carlo: "I was just curious that's all."

Philly: "Alright good. Well then here's the plan. Your gonna go over to the Schottler Medical Centre and pick up the don's bodyguard Vinnie, then the two of you are gonna drive over to Francis International where the rest of the crew will be waiting. Petey will explain the rest when you get there. You can take the car parked out front the tools are already in the trunk. I know I don't need to say this but this is a high stakes job.. don't f*ck it up"

Carlo: "You have my word"

Carlo will then leave the social club.

Once you enter the marked car a waypoint will appear on your HUD for the hospital. When you get there you will be instructed to sound the horn to alert Vinnie. Shortly thereafter he will exit the hospital and get into your car.

Carlo: "Hey man I'm Carlo, the Messina's guy.. you must be Vinnie"

Vinnie will remain silent

Carlo: "I guess you're more of the strong silent type.. that's cool"

Vinnie: "I just don't make a habit of talking to people I don't know"

Carlo: "Ok I get that. I guess it comes with the territory. Well how's this, you just tell me where to go and I'll go there"

Vinnie: "Head over to the parking lot in Francis International Airport"

Carlo: "Sure thing big guy"

A blip will now appear on your radar for the designated parking lot.

When you arrive at the parking lot Carlo and Vinnie will exit the car and walk around the back where Vinnie will open the trunk. He will take out a shotgun, a submachine gun two pairs of gloves and two ski masks and give the sub machine gun and a mask and gloves to Carlo, keeping the rest for himself and say

Vinnie: "Put the gloves on but keep the mask off for now.. we don't wanna raise any suspicion"

He will then close the trunk and tell Carlo "we're supposed to meet the others under the highway overpass behind those billboards over there". The two men will then head towards the rendez-vous spot. As they approach they will see Nicky and Dino standing there waiting for them.

Nicky: "Here those motherf*ckers are now"

Dino: "Hey guys how you doin"

Carlo: "Good man. Is this everybody?"

Dino: "No we're still waiting for Petey G"

Nicky: "He put this thing together the least he could do is be on time. He thinks just because he's the don's nephew he can leave us standing here waiting to get pinched"

Dino: "He'll be here ok"

Vinnie: "You act like he's the only one who takes advantage of who his relatives are.."

Nicky: "f*ck you Vincenzo, I got to where I am without my father around... unlike you who's been been riding on his uncle's coat tails since he came off the tit"

Vinnie (advancing toward Nicky clutching his shotgun): "What the f*ck did you say to me you little cocksucker!?"

Nicky (stepping forward to meet him): "You heard me"

Dino (getting in the middle of them): "Alright guys enough! You think arguing like this is gonna do anybody any good!? Pete said he'd be here so he's gonna be here, now chill"

The two men will back off and begin to cool down slightly

Carlo (attempting to further defuse the situation): "So uh Nicky what was the deal with that cop there the other day?"

Nicky: "I walked outside the store right and there's my car being towed.. the fat pig bastard says I was parked illegally, plus I had no tax or insurance so he says he was obligated to have the vehicle removed.. can you f*ckin believe that. It'd answer them better to go after some real criminals and not be chasing guys like me over petty bullsh*t. They can get f*cked if they think I'm paying that impound fee.. they can burn it for all I care"

By this time Peter Gravelli will have arrived with a duffel bag slung over his shoulder and will make his presence known by berating Nicky for talking and leaving him standing there in the lurch until he had finished his tirade.

Peter: "Alright enough of the chit chat ladies, save that for you're dinner date later Nicky"

Nicky: "Very funny pal. He asked me a question.. what am I supposed to do f*cking ignore the guy?"

Peter: "This thing goes tits up and you two will have plenty of time to socialise in the rec room at Alderney State. I need everybody's full attention so as I can explain how this sh*t is gonna go down"

Nicky: "Ok I'm listening"

Peter: "Here's the plan: Any minute now the night watchman is gonna come and relieve the other security guard, this'll give us an opening because that gate will be open and the two of them will be distracted. We stick the two of them up and lead one of them towards the terminal.. if either of them wants to play the hero then you knock them out and take their keys.. I want this thing to go peacefully without any shots fired. The guns are just for intimidation purposes... if everything goes well that is"

Nicky: "Yeah uh speaking of guns... how come we aint got any?"

Peter: "Don't worry they're in the bag. Your buddy knows he's gotta meet us here with the van right?"

Nicky: "Yeah he's close by. I told him I'd text him when we're ready to go"

Peter: "Ok good. The daytime security guard always leaves his car parked right up by the hangar, we're gonna use that as the second getaway away car."

Dino: "What about the cars we drove here in?"

Peter: "Don't worry about them I'll have some of my other guys come pick them up in a day or two. People leave their cars here sometimes for weeks so they shouldn't cause any alarm bells to ring. Anyway I think I've spent enough time flapping my gums.. you guys suit up and get out of sight and we'll wait for this night guard to come let us in"

Peter will place the duffel bag on the ground and take out two Advanced SMGs giving one each to Dino and Nicky and keep a pistol back for himself. The group will then bally up and take cover behind the pillars of the overhead expressway anticipating the arrival of the security guard.

After a few minutes the security guard will arrive and walk up to the gate where another guard will let him inside the airport yard. When the gate is fully opened and both guards are exchanging pleasantries the crew led by Pete will creep out from under the freeway and inside the yard allowing the gate to close behind them. Peter will then knock out the first guard with the butt of his gun and then shove it in the other guards face. He will then tell him "Don't try anything stupid. Put your hands behind your head now real slow"

The guard who is visibly shaken will proceed to move his hands slowly towards his head and Peter will grab his left arm and twist it behind his back putting his pistol to the back of his head. "Ok now down on your knees" the guard will try to struggle a little "Come on down on you're f*cking knees now good boy don't make this hard on yourself" the guard will comply getting down on his knees. Peter will continue to give him directions "Ok good now I'm gonna let go of your arm I want you to reach inside your pocket and take out your wallet.. come on take out your wallet. Now give it to me" the guard will take out his wallet and hand it to Peter. "Ok now we got your ID card we know who you are.. anything goes wrong here we will come and find you. You just do exactly what I say and you won't end up like your unconscious buddy there".

Peter will notice a red Premier parked close by, he will point at it and ask the guard "is that your car?" the guard still very scared will reply "No it's his" (referring to the other guard) "my car's parked over there by the hangar" Pete will click his fingers at Vinnie and point at the unconscious guard "tie him up and put him in the trunk" Vinnie will take a length of rope from his bag and in a demonstration of his sheer strength will pick the guard up without too much effort and throw him over his shoulder, he will then walk towards the Premier and propping the guard up against it, he will take out his keys and place him in the trunk. He will then walk back over and rejoin the group.

Peter will then continue to address the other guard still holding him at gunpoint "have you got your keys on you" the guard will nod and mumble "uh huh" almost tearing up at this stage. "Ok give them to me. Come on you can do it" the guard will take his keys from his pocket and hand them to Peter, jangling with the shaking of the guard's hand as he passes them over. "Don't worry you aint going in the trunk. I'm gonna need you to walk with us over to the hangar.. then you're gonna use your keycard to let us in". The guard will attempt to show a little defiance "I..I..I can't do that" "Sure you can" Peter will reply "This is a straight up robbery.. you're not a suspect and you won't be a victim neither. All you gotta do is co-operate and nobody's gonna get hurt.. you have my word... Jimmy" reading the guard's name from his ID card. "Can you do that for me pal.. can you let us inside.. and not have anybody get hurt?" Pete will ask as if talking to a small child. "O..Okay" the guard will reply, knowing he hasn't got much of a choice. Peter will bring the guard to his feet "There's a good boy.. now start walkin". Pete will lead the guard at gunpoint over towards the hangar to the left of their current position.

Once at the door he will force the guard to use his keycard and input his code in order to open the door. Inside the door there will be another guard inside a small booth who will jump to attention as the door opens, having clearly just been sleeping on the job, he will immediately reach for his radio but will be stopped by Dino who will point his gun at him and tell him "settle down" he will then turn to Pete and whisper "he wasn't supposed to be here" to which Pete will reply "I know... lucky for us he's a lazy f*ck". Dino will tell the gaurd to hand over the radio and come out from the booth. He will do so and be grabbed by Vinnie at which point the gang will lead the two guards down a small corridor and through a door leading inside the main hangar.

Once inside Peter will point out a medium sized reinforced concrete room to the rear of the hangar up a flight of metal stairs "that's the target right there". He will then point to a mobile conveyer belt in the middle of the hangar and instruct Dino and Vinnie to bring the guards over to it and sit them down. He will then begin speaking to them primarily addressing the second one "Hey new guy listen up your ID card give it to me" The guard will tell Pete to go f*ck himself and find his face meeting the arse end of  Vinnie's shotgun, breaking his nose. He will begin to groan in pain "now see what happens when we don't cooperate" Peter will say, the guard will hand over his ID card. Peter will continue, pointing at Dino "My friend here has a file with all the guards names and addresses on it.. now that we have your names we also have your addresses" Dino will take the file out of his bag and hand it to Peter. "If somebody wants to play the f*cking hero then I'm gonna have my other friend here pay a little visit to your families and he aint the type of motherf*cker you want near your wife and kids" Vinnie will step forward and snarl at them "No I aint". "Do I make myself clear Mr. Ray Johnson from Dillon Street, Schottler and Mr. Jimmy McCluskey from Trenton Avenue, Dukes?" Peter will say, the two guards will nod in compliance. He will then force the first guard Jimmy to make a call home to his wife and tell her something's come up and he has to stay late, knowing that she will be worrying where he is. He will then pick out Nicky and Carlo and tell them to come with him up to the evidence room telling Dino to go into the security booth out front and delete the CCTV leaving Vinnie downstairs to look after the hostages.

Once outside the room Peter will direct Carlo to input a code into the keypad in order to open the door. The problem is that he can't quite remember what the code is since he "can't be expected to remember everything". After some hesitation he will give Carlo the number 2504.. which will be incorrect. Carlo by either using his (player guided) initiative or waiting for Peter's memory to kick in will then get the correct code which is 2405 and the door will open.

Inside the locker will have a metal gate which relies on a special mechanism whereby the door must be shut in order for the gate to be opened without activating the alarm, Pete will notify you of this fact before you attempt to open the gate. He will then send Nicky inside with four bags to help you collect the cash and close the door behind you. At this point Carlo and Nicky will fill the five bags with as much money as they can with Nicky telling Carlo that they "don't want any f*cking small bills, big notes only".

After a time lapse the two men will slide the bags out into the small space between the interior gate and the external door and close the gate behind them. Carlo will then bang on the door in order to signal to Peter to let them out. They will then slide the bags out onto the landing and lock the door to the locker behind them. Peter will then whistle down to Vinnie to come up and give them a hand leaving Dino (who has since returned after wiping the CCTV) to keep an eye on the hostages. The four men atop the stairs will then throw a bag each over their shoulder, with big Vinnie grabbing two. Peter will tell Nicky to message his friend to come with the van for the getaway and remark to the other two that it "feels like a good haul" as will be evident by Carlo's laboured movement down the stairs. Once at the bottom Peter will instruct Vinnie and Nicky to tie up the security guards while Dino covers them with his SMG. After the guards have been tied up they will be told not to raise the alarm until two hours after the thieves have gone... if they manage to escape their bindings that is. The group will then exit the hangar to where the van should be waiting. Needless to say it isn't there.

Vinnie: "Where the hell is the van?"

Dino: "Marone.. this is all we need"

Peter: "Where the f*ck is your buddy Nicky"

Nicky: "I don't know guys I texted him.. he should be on his way"

Peter: "He should be f*cking here by now... where the f*ck is he!? I swear to f*cking god if we get pinched cause he's passed out in a squat somewhere with a needle in his arm I'm gonna..."

Before Pete can finish his threat the armoured van will come flying through the front gate and begin careering towards the hangar before spinning a 180 and screeching to a halt a matter of inches away from the waiting thieves. With that Nicky's friend Marco will come bursting from the driver's side and almost fall flat on his face on the tarmac.

Nicky: "I told you he'd be here"

Peter (to Marco): "Where the f*ck were you huh? You f*cking amateur.. you wanna play with the big boys you better lay off that sh*t. You unreliable junkie motherf*cker".

Marco: "I came as quick as I could"

Peter: "You're lucky you didn't crash the van you f*cking moron"

Peter will advance towards Marco poised to deliver a beating but will be stopped in his tracks by the sight and sound of advancing sirens. Choosing to express his frustration by punching the air instead of Marco's face he will exclaim "f*ck! Now look you little prick.. you better hope these cops either catch you or kill you because if we loose this loot you're a f*cking dead man"

Nicky;: "f*ck that we're shooting our way out of here"

Carlo: "Are you f*cking crazy?"

Nicky: "No you're f*cking crazy if you think we did all this work just to get caught."

Vinnie: "He's right kid.. if we go out we're going out fighting"

Peter: "Brace yourselves boys we're about to slaughter some pigs"

At this point control will be returned to you and you will be instructed to clear a path through the cops to make your escape. In this situation the van will be your best source of cover since drawing too much fire to the getaway car will lead to it being destroyed and your mission ending in failure.

There will be several waves of cops to take care of here. When all of your foes have been dealt with Peter will say "Alright that's all of em'" this will initiate another cutscene where the men will load the bags of money into the back of the van. Pete will then reach into one of the bags and throw Marco a sat nav and tell you, him and Nicky to meet himself and the other two (Dino and Vinnie) at the designated rendez vous point. He will then get in the car with them and drive off.

Nicky: "Hey Marco.. I got something here for you too"

Nicky will reach into his pocket and produce a small bag of heroin and begin shaking it in Marco's direction

Marco: "I told you I'm clean Nicky.. I don't do that stuff no more"

Nicky (laughing): "Get the f*ck outta here you're high as a kite. Carlo I think you better drive"

Marco: "Nicky come on I can do this I swear"

Nicky: "Just give him the keys numb nuts"

Marco will hand over the keys and get in the passenger seat. Carlo will climb into the drivers seat and Nicky will get in the back.

You will now be given control once again and told to go to the rendez vous point. As soon as you exit the airport you will have a four star wanted level and will need to lose it before going there. Nicky will instruct you to turn right onto the freeway as this will lead you there quickly. Carlo will protest saying its a bad idea but Nicky will insist saying that's what Peter wants them to do. The journey will be short but the van is slow and it will be easy to find yourself in a pile up if you're not careful. Once on the freeway Nicky will fling open one of the rear doors and open fire on the pursuing police in order to get them off your tail. Carlo will shout at him that he's going to lose the money and Nicky will say "sh*t.. I never thought of that" closing the door quickly and shooting through the rear window instead. Marco will also give some covering fire from the passenger side but armed only with a pistol and f*cked up on heroin he wont be much help.

When you get to the end of the freeway you will find the road blocked off by cops. Nicky will climb out the back and take cover behind the van in order to clear the way prompting you to get out and do the same. Once the roadblock has been cleared you can exit the freeway however you will still need to drive around for a bit in order to shake those pesky stars off.

Once your wanted level has been cleared you can proceed to the highlighted rendez vous point (located in the same alley where Roman hides during Roman's Sorrow in IV). On the way there Nicky will express his delight at you shaking the cops and tell Marco that he was beginning to worry whether or not he'd actually show up. The other three men will already be there and Vinnie will have started pouring petrol all over their getaway car.

Peter: "You guys finally made it. I was beginning to think we'd lost you... and the loot"

Nicky: "If you didn't notice we had quite a bit of heat on our asses.. we had to shake it before we came here"

Dino: "What way did you guys go?"

Nicky: "We took the freeway.. that was the plan.. wasn't it"

The others will begin to laugh

Peter: "Not if we were being chased by the cops you idiot!"

Carlo: "I f*cking told you we shouldn't go that way"

Dino: "You assholes are lucky you didn't get yourselves killed with a stunt like that"

Peter: "Good thing junk head here wasn't in the driver's seat or they would've been"

Nicky (stepping in to defend his friend): "Well we're here now aren't we"

Peter: "Yeah. Now start loading the money into the back of these cars"

There will be two Schafters ready and waiting there, the trunks of which the men will start loading with the bags of cash. Once they've been loaded Peter will tell Nicky and Marco to drive half of the cash to their drop off while Carlo takes him and Vinnie to another drop off with the other half. Dino will be tasked with disposing of the van.

At this point you will be told to drive back to Alazone's. Once you get there Peter will commend you on a job well done and tell you that you'll get your cut once it's all been counted then bid you a fond farewell.

Chapter Complete. Now just wait for the call.

The Advanced SMG will now be available to purchase from Nino's gun store

Bloody hell MOB, that was great! :O As a fan of this concept for a long time am I glad you decided to continue with this. Family Ties is the pinnacle of organized crime based concepts as far as I am concerned.

First thing I have to say I liked about this chapter was the execution of the heist. The clinical direction of it worked in your favor: just as I anticipated it would. It isn't something I think would've worked so well with a bank or a smash'n grab but it speaks volumes for your choice of heist which was exactly what I hoped to see. I am not sure how well the shooting through the cops came across (it reminded me a lot of Blitz Play in GTAV) as aside from Carlo imputting the wrong code the first time around or Marco's carelessness with the van I'm not sure what would have triggered such a response outside of GTA folk law. I would've preferred it if the police happened to notice the crew loading the cash into the van and gave pursuit, forcing Carlo to take advantage of the armored weight of the van and ram a number of them off the road to escape.

I also liked picking up the crew at the beginning of the mission and you letting us get a feel for each of their personalities. It worked as well as the heists with the McRearys in GTAIV did to give us some background on them and their feelings. The only thing that made me uneasy was that every single one of those other guys was Gambetti affiliated while Carlo was there through Philly because he'd been vouched for by the Messinas. I'm sure that's all going to come to a head in the next chapter or two, though.

I'm loving your characters in the recent chapters, by the way. I recognize Nicky Bottino. I like Philly through the last parts I've read (and read most of this in John Sacrimoni's voice - a good thing!) and the feeling I get of him being an opportunist. I liked Peter Gravelli not only for how he came across during the heist but also his last name having the potential to open up a whole nother can of worms. I hope we see more soon because your cast of characters are as strong as they've been right now.

Oh, and I loved this (if it is a jibe at what I think it is?)

After some hesitation he will give Carlo the number 2504.. which will be incorrect. Carlo by either using his (player guided) initiative or waiting for Peter's memory to kick in will then get the correct code which is 2405 and the door will open.

Haha it was indeed. I needed a code and that one came to me straight away haha.

Thanks a lot for your feedback especially how in depth you went with it. Basically Carlo is there to oversee how much money was taken and to give the Messina's their cut since (being a Dukes based family) the Airport is under their control. As far as how and why the cops showed up well I was going to explain it but decided to leave it open and let the reader decide. All that it would've taken was another member of night staff to notice two cars in the parking lot when there isn't usually at that time (believe me on a night shift you notice these things). After going to investigate they would've heard the security guard banging to get out of the trunk and called the cops knowing something was up. The cops knowing that all of the confiscated money was in the hangar would've known it was a robbery and called in some backup.

I wanted to make Philly similar to Johnny Sack, especially with the cynical attitude he has in his dying days in prison.. basically he couldn't really give a sh*t about anyone but himself but he manipulates people into thinking that he's a nice guy. Had Carlo died trying to get him his money back after their first meeting I don't think he would've cared too much but since he survived he acts like he's Carlo's best friend. Peter is the real opportunist though, it was him who came up with the scheme to rob the cash (Philly just kind of okayed it and took his kick up) he will show his real opertunistic side in the next chapter which as it happens will be the last one that I will actually do dialogue for since I'm gonna just do chapter summaries for the rest of the story.
