This is part of the "Fiends" script I just finished. You don't go around delivering drugs or any of that nonsense. Instead, you get harassed by the fiends asking for drugs. Oh, and they not only choose the drug (every ped has their favourites), but how much they want to buy it for based on your street cred. This is the lowest level of dealing you will face.

I've just got a few bugs to fix, plus the abuse system for a release.

Sounds like you just keeping making it better and better. So far it sounds great! Good luck with the rest of it

Would like to see a video of the effects from taking the drugs.

One thing I don't like is the 'wording' .. "He wants Weed for $51" .. Shouldn't it be something like "He wants 5g of Weed for $51" ?

In my country, they sell 'tinnies' which is 1g of weed rolled up in tinfoil. Which is $20

And then a 'fitty-bag', which is 2.5-4g, for $50.

Maybe use something like that? "He wants 2 tinnies for $40"
And have these 'code words' easily changed for peple from different countries who call it something different?

Well, I didn't make a special case for the weed sales text. It uses the same text as the other drugs do, and I didn't want to get into quantities of drugs, because then I would have to start centering the price around it, which is combining the unrealism of GTA money with real life drug prices... gets kinda messy, especially since I have no idea how much heroin goes for in the LA ghetto's... I was going to give the drugs code names originally, to distinguish the mods drugs from real life ones, but the names just didn't hit the spot... You're left to assume $50 of weed is $50 worth of weed (based on the current black market rate).

Drug effects aren't there yet, once they are, a release will come.

I think you should leave it the way it is deji because its like the fiends are making an offer on the drugs which you have the option to reject. It looks great I'm amped

P.S. can you please give us a timeframe on an estimated release date

I've mostly been debugging over the past week and making sure everything is working well. The drug effects are coming along nicely and I've started adding finishing touches to the rest of the features. As long as everything runs smoothly with the rest of the drugs, a BETA release should be ready in less than a week. I didn't have time to take a screenshot though, because I've been so busy with the readme... its an important readme though, so make sure you read it when it's out. Lest you go on thinking that this mod is just a simple buy'n'sell mod...

Reputation is hard to earn. The level shown is just about where you start at. So far you can gain rep for completing deals (approx. 10,000,00th of rep per deal) and can loose rep for harming dealers. As the episodes go on, there will be bigger and better ways to fill up that total reputation bar in order to start making a profit from dealing. When you start out, you will not have the reputation to earn a profit doing small-time deals.

Actually the proof would suggest that R* got a bit into implementing a basic buy'n'sell drugs system, as proven by some internal code and left over speech which Black Market makes use of. For example, CJ will say things like "Aight player partner, if it's gonna make you shut up, I'm down", which is a reference to how annoying the dealer can be, who also says "player partner" a lot. And peds have behaviours of being on drugs as well as their own speech when being sold drugs... so many that it can't just be there for you to overhear the dealer making deals.

But they spent a long time working on SA, and I guess they just wanted to get it out there in the end... Or because of how CJ was against drugs in the storyline as they ruined GSF, it just didn't fit.

Dont do that... It actually might be delayed a day or two, as thats how long it took for me to settle on a way to overcome Sanny's hex input bug. But I'll use any extra time to add more details like this...

When you overdose, you may throw up, which will quickly flush the drugs out of your system. You may continously vomit until enough of the drugs are out of your system, unless you've done so much that you pass out... When you gain more experience with drugs, you can do more without overdosing. Your drugs experience also affects which drugs you can do, which increases every time you finish using a drug. For the first episode, there will be a limit on certain stats such as drug experience, this is a sophisticated way I've thought of to allow me to keep updates ahead of mod progress. More info will be available in the readme (which should be your favourite part of the mod, lol).

And there is a nice effect right before vomiting as well (the daunting moment when you're about to puke) tounge.gif

I can't get this mod to work, sorry.

I tried it on my heavily modded game. Started a new game, and the screen went black after the load screen had reached the end.

I tried it on a fresh install, with CLEO 4.1.1.30f; SilentPL ASI Loader, and my gta_sa.exe is 14,383,616 bytes HOODLUM and the same thing happened as before; it goes black after load screen.

I installed it correctly (i believe), by keeping the same structure, and dragging all files across from the archive to my SA directory.

Any ideas Deji?

Got exact same problem as methodunderg. The plug-in SuperVars and the IntOperations work both, as when I remove blackmarket.cs, I have no crashing.

It's weird, Silent got this too but I never did. Silent said he'd try to figure out what the problem was.

You could do me a favour... back up your current cleo.asi, downloading CLEO 4.2a, extract cleo.asi and remove all other CLEO scripts even if they work fine with your current cleo.asi, as 4.2a has bugs. Then run SA and if you get the freeze, paste the contents of cleo.log for me to review. You can restore your old cleo.asi afterwards, as that one works better.

Ok, just done that. Just extracted the cleo.asi out of the 4.2a and used that.
This time it actually crashed; with the 4.1.1.30f it just stayed @ the black screen, and had to close the program with Task Manager
