I think the best cartoons are South Park and Family guy. They're hilarious biggrin.gif .

And I remember when Tom and Jerry DID talk in one of their episodes. You just gotta keep watching it. Its a good cartoon.

Hey cidamelo. Would you like it if there was a cartoon based on the entire Grand Theft Auto Series? It would be really cool and defenitely funny and violent just like South Park is! biggrin.gif

P.S-Claude Speed would be in it too icon14.gif

edit - lol

just me chiming in again to say; If you haven't watched the second season of Full Metal Alchemist, then get on it.

I don't think the dubs up to this part, though. But I sure as hell am.

It's not a second season, it's a complete reimagining of the original. In my eyes it's how FMA should have been done the first time around.

I don't watch much TV, though I do spend a good portion of my time watching anime online. The only televised cartoons (outside of anime, which I'm honestly hesitant to refer to as cartoons) really worth watching anymore are the new Boondocks and Futurama, which I haven't really watched since, like I said, I don't watch much TV.

Oh, I know. The first followed the manga pretty well, then diverged since it was still on-going and the anime passed the manga.

I'm simply saying 'second season' to differentiate it from the first is all.

Any cartoons nowadays with a bit of drama? Some were just that awesome to draw the kids in; anything inspired from a comic, really. Don't know why, but I used to love Captain Planet. Haven't sat down and watched anything from the box in a long time, but I downloaded the entire kanto season of Pokémon. Amazing how I don't remember a lot from over 10 years ago...

The majority of cartoons from that era (80s, 90s, early 2000s) were quite watchable, really. Anyone have any they were fed up with? Ed, Edd and Eddy sometimes got on my tits, especially when they played reruns after reruns...
Scooby Doo's another, f*cking repetitive.

QUOTE (^- Dice -> @ Jul 10 2010, 11:42)
Actually american entertainment companies censor and edit animes, not the original authors. One great example is One Piece and even Naruto, where even the tinniest amount of blood resulted in a total redrawing of a characters face, same with smoking and guns and with some pieces of the show cut out, which may be a reference to japanese culture, to avoid confusion by viewers.

And what I originally meant in my post is that don't crap on the whole style, because you watched a badly made series. Maybe this anime genre, which aims at children as audience, doesn't look at the quality as much, maybe even the whole animation style sucks, as you claim, but the storyline in some genres is better then any american created cartoon and can easily compare to movies.

To go off of this, with the whole re-drawing thing, it is very much true. If you look at the American censored version of One Piece, for example, and the uncensored Japanese version, you will see many differences. Some right off head is the character in one episode that they turned from black to white, and the fact that in several episodes the guns, which were rifles, meant to represent real guns, of course, were turned into water guns. Obviously that makes things seem stupid, due to the fact that in one of the episodes where the latter was changed, they'd be on some ship, and the guards would be shooting water guns at them. It just kills it. Along with the "SUPER WHACKY XD RANDOM" voices they insist on giving certain characters.

To go off of the reference to Japanese culture thing, a great example of that would be in Pokemon. Brock's "doughnuts", anyone? They were clearly rice balls, but since we don't really typically have rice balls in America, Brock said they were doughnuts, but like I said, they clearly weren't.

I'm not a huge anime-fan or anything, but I can appreciate good stuff when I see it. Anime can be pretty damn good, but the problem is, is that the people who make a lot (not all) of the anime, particuarly the most popular series, just really don't give a flying sh*t about quality.

That being said, I love DB, DBZ, and Yu Yu Hakusho. haters_gonna_hate.jpg

Is it cute?
Are there cute guys and girls?
Is there action?
Is there drama and romance?
Is there an emo guy who acts like a dick but has a nice heart, and a SUPER KAWAII UGUU~ guy who falls over constantly and smiles?

SMELLS LIKE MONEY IN MY POCKET, BITCH!

Off of that, though, I don't watch TV much in general anymore, but I do love '90s cartoons. Infact, I got an Ed Edd 'n' Eddy shirt the other day. The cartoons just hold good memories for me.
