What movie was so messed up you couldn't forget it?

You don't have to of watched it, you could have even heard it and it sounds disturbing.

Well, for me it's probably Johnny got his gun. A movie about someone who gets their limbs and face blown off. He can't hear, smell, see, move or taste, but he's still alive and thinking clearly.

So what's the most disturbing movie you know and why?

I saw ,Jaws, at the drive in when it was first released. I didn't go into the ocean for many many years.

The original ,Last House on the Left, was really disturbing and I'm a big horror fan.

Requiem for a Dream always disturbed me the most, just to think people lived like that from Heroin really freaks me out.

Henry: Potrait of a Serial Killer and Irreversible are pretty distrubing as well.

A long time ago I watched an Argentinian movie called "Bajo Bandera" on TV. It was pretty disturbing (to me, at least).

From a IMDB user:
QUOTE
A military Internal Affairs investigation is launched after several "accidents" (red codes) in a military base in Argentine Patagonia. Excellent piece, something like an Argentinian version of Platoon mixed with A few good men. Nicely done, good cast, great photography, good story. Based on true stories within the Argentine Army. A good insight on the South American armies, their fights with real and imaginary enemies, and their contradictory self-perception as guardians of the national interest, it is also interesting to look at the character of the priest, afar from the role of the military chaplains of the Argentine Army

I spit on your grave (Day of the woman). I expect a female Paul Kersey in a Death Wish flick, but I get something that looks like a cheap home-made extreme porn film. Awful movie that you should avoid at all cost.

I walked in on a Scream viewing session at my house when I was, what, 5 years old, perhaps. That mask was burned into my retinas for a while.

The twisted subliminal worlds and creepy eastern music in The Cell are disturbing to me as a child. Now that I can see how creative and brilliant the film is, it is still thrilling everytime I watch it. One of my favorite horror films.

Also, the video log scene in Event Horizon is damn disturbing. Can't get it out of my head for quite a while. Probably the most disturbing scene for me.

Uwe Boll's "SEED" is disturbing for all of the wrong reasons. The entire beginning of the movie is that PETA animal abuse reel. Thing is, it's got NOTHING to do with the plot of the movie. I believe there's also a montage of a baby starving to death and decomposing... although I can't remember if that even had any relevance to the story either...

Is that any good?, ive been interested to see it.

For me it would be the Proposition, its the music, the beauty of the Australian outback mixed with the harsh violence and cruelty.

Also the sixth sense sh*tted me up, the ghost in the closet really freakeed me out.

Twilight.

I'm serious btw, those movies suck so badly you actually end up in some sort of mini-depression.

Oh, and The Human Centipede too.

I liked it personally, had an interesting plot. That said, it's extremely violent and gory for the sake of being hyper-violent, hyper-sexual and downright disgusting. It's not for the weak of heart; it isn't the worst, but out of everything I've seen it's definitely the nastiest, goriest movie of the bunch.

The scene I posted is far far from the worst in the movie.

I'd recommend it, it's one of those movies that you need to experience just for the sake of experiencing it. icon14.gif

The last scene in American History X where Edward Furlong's character is murdered by that enraged black kid really sticks in my head. Damn, the bathroom was a bloodbath after that. Also, the movie Felon has a few grisly scenes. I don't really watch horror films.

^ You should really put spoilers on that.

I can't really think of any films that i've find disturbing, especially gory / violent films. However, while i don't have much a problem with spiders, i find it difficult to sleep after watching Arachnophobia.

Huh, Arachnophobia actually had more or less the opposite effect on me. I stopped being frightened by them after watching it. Eight Legged Freaks also helped.

Same here. I watch a lot of horror but dont usually go out of my way to catch something such as that... Its been stuck in my head since hearing about it though.

Various levels of disturbing:

Audition (if you know nothing about this movie, see it..even just seeing the dvd cover can take away a lot of the suspense, still a great flick though)

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

Eraserhead

Baise Moi

Irreversible.

El Topo

On another total level of disturbing : Salo or the 120 Days of Sodom , August Underground Mordum.

Yeah there is. heres the wikipedia article about it:

Metallica made a song about it too called "one" which features clips from the movie.

I think it'd have to be a tie between "Jacob's Ladder" and John Carpenter's "The Thing". The gurney/Hell scene in "Jacob's Ladder" still disturbs me to this day.....that wheel on the cart spinning maniacally really adds to the emotion of the scene I have to say. Also, in "The Thing", the opening kennel scene always sends chills down my spine.......truly horrific special effects in that movie. icon14.gif

Look who's talking too

That talking toilet scared the life out of me. Speaking honestly, no other movie has disturbed me more.

Oh God...I found the scene...
