Nitro mod for EFLC

Just a small nitro modification, it will use a nitro system similar to the one that is used in TBOGT, visual effects, camera shake, sound + force added to the vehicles. Contrary to the game, this nitro can be used/enabled at any time. Also the effects have been updated for all (original) Cars and Bikes, also depending on what exhaust components are currently enabled on the vehicle. Alternatively you can set NitroLimit to 1, this way the nitro is limited as in the game, including nitro level indicator. If the nitro is limited you can use T to fast reload the nitro, you can also disable the limit completely (and the nitro level indicator), by pressing RALT+T. The color of the nitro indicator can be set by using the RGB color system, so for instance white is 255,255,255, red (the default) is 255,0,0. This is set in nitro.ini.

However, since the visual effects and the sound are only available in TBOGT, to make this mod work in TLAD you need to do some additional stuff. In IV, the nitro is using different visual effects.
The mod operates by pressing F9, this way you enable nitro, which then can be used in any Car or bike. To invoke nitro whilst in the car, hold capslock (or the button that you have configured to the cinematic camera in the game keyboard configuration) . Whilst nitro is enabled, the cinematic camera is disabled.

This mod comes with a small ini file (nitro.ini), which allows you to set the following settings:

LimitKey1=165 //Enable/Disable Limit for Nitro (ingame) Default RALT

NitroMaxSpeed=250 //Maxium Speed for Nitro, Default 250 KM/U
NitroLimit=0 //Limit for Nitro
NitroHColor1=255 //Color for NitroHud R
NitroHColor2=0 //Color for NitroHud G
NitroHColor3=0 //Color for NitroHud B
EFLCDLC=0 //Installed EFLC as DLC
ReloadKey1=165 //Reload Nitro Settings Default RAlt
ReloadKey2=71 //Reload Nitro Settings Default G

You can also override nitro effects for a total of 10 cars by using the provided Nitro slots [Nitro1] through to [Nitro10].
You need to enable each slot (Enable=1), then set the model name for which you want to override the nitro effects (Model=Turismo), you can then enable 4 effects for each slot, (enable using Enable1=1 and setting the x,y,z positions (for instance x1=1.25, y1=-2.5, z1=-0.5) and the x,y and z rotation (rx1,ry1,rz1). You can edit the ini and make the game reloads the settings by pressing RAlt+G in game.

The Installation instructions:

First you need an asi loader, ONE (1) of the following three will work:

To make it work in TBOGT:
Copy the asi loader + scripthook.dll + nitro.asi + nitro.ini into the game main directory :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\EFLC .
To make it work in TLAD:
1) Copy asi loader + scripthook.dll + nitro.asi + nitro.ini + nitro.wav + nitrofade.wav into the game directory. (same directories as above).
2) For the visual effects to show (they are not standard in the TLAD files), you need to change the content.dat file in EFLC\TLAD, first BACKUP content.dat in EFLC\TLAD, edit content.dat by searching for RMPTFX pc/data/effects/gta_ep1.wpfl
add : RMPTFX pc/data/effects/gta_ep2.wpfl on the next line and save the file
3) Copy gta_ep2.wpfl from EFLC\TBOGT\PC\DATA\Effects to EFLC\TLAD\PC\DATA\Effects.
4) To show the nitro level indicator, copy EFLC\TBOGT\PC\Textures\nitrohud.wtd to ELFC\TLAD\PC\Textures.

To make it work in IV with both DLC’s included:

Copy the asi loader+scripthook.dll+nitro.asi+nitro.ini+nitro.wav+nitrofade.wav into the game directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV

Now to make it work on TBOGT nothing more is needed, for TLAD do the following:

1) For the visual effects to show (they are not standard in the TLAD files), you need to change the content.dat file in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\5454083b\00000002\7506c1928d59c2ee678da64131b30be497922e66\content, first BACKUP content.dat , then you need to decrypt the content.dat file, edit content.dat by searching for RMPTFX pc/data/effects/gta_ep1.wpfl
add : RMPTFX pc/data/effects/gta_ep2.wpfl on the next line and save the file
2) Copy gta_ep2.wpfl from c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\5454083b\00000002\82402544b38206bc49d18891ab8fb6237c9f26e6\Content\pc\data\effects
to: c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\5454083b\00000002\7506c1928d59c2ee678da64131b30be497922e66\content\pc\data\effects
3) To show the nitro level indicator, copy c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\5454083b\00000002\82402544b38206bc49d18891ab8fb6237c9f26e6\Content\pc\textures\nitrohud.wtd to :
c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\5454083b\00000002\7506c1928d59c2ee678da64131b30be497922e66\content\pc\textures

To make it work on IV, which is using different effects, nothing more is needed. If you want to have the same nitro level indicator as the one used for TBOGT and TLAD do the following:

1) Set EFLCDLC=1 in nitro.ini
2) Copy c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\5454083b\00000002\82402544b38206bc49d18891ab8fb6237c9f26e6\Content\pc\textures\nitrohud.wtd to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\textures

To make it work in IV (PATCH 6 and up)

Copy the asi loader + scripthook.dll + nitro.asi + nitro.ini + nitro.wav + nitrofade.wav into the game directory : C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV

Note that the nitro level indicator will not work in IV, therefore the level is indicated in text, ranging from 0 to 100, nitro is ready at level 45.

To make it work in IV (Patch 5 and lower)
1) Copy the asi loader + scripthook.dll - OLD PATCHES + Nitro - OLD Patches.asi + nitro.ini + nitro.wav + nitrofade.wav into the game directory : C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV
2) Rename scripthook.dll - OLD PATCHES to scripthook.dll

Note that the nitro level indicator will not work in IV, therefore the level is indicated in text, ranging from 0 to 100, nitro is ready at level 45.

Yes it is in the trainer for tbogt, and that trainer has been updated to also support all vehicles, however the tlad trainer doesn't have the nitro, as it requires some more stuff (unecrypted content.dat, add the ep2.wplf file to it). And for the time being I decided to use a separate mod, hence this thread.

I finished trainer 5.9 by the way, and apart from the updated nitro for all vehicles, it now does support colored parachute smoke, but it does come with a complete new scripthook.dll.

well, here in my game, gta4/tbogt/tlad ... works perfectly ...
I dont have the file peds.ide edited ... this error is occurring in the new version with support for gta4?

There is no motion blur, it's not used in the game's nitro either, they use camera shake, which is (at the same way) used in this ntiro.

yes, it is possible ...
but I think it would be not necessary, as the trembling of the camera of a glowing effect, and the nearest real nitro tbogt ...
besides being extra work, because sjaak327 have to rewrite the code to add the blur effect, only the landscape, not the vehicle, and player ...
can you imagine the job going? haha ...

sjaak327 already made the miracle of adding nitro to gta4 and tlad ...
well, for me is perfect, not needing any modification in the code written ...

Mod has been updated to 2.1, fixed a problem where the mod wouldn't run on IV lower then patch 6. You still need to use an older scripthook.dll if you are running IV lower then patch 6, the file has been included into the archive: scripthook.dll - NOT FOR PATCH 6, copy this file into your IV directory and rename it to scripthook.dll, people running EFLC or IV patch 6 use scripthook.dll.

It is great, except for that when you put handbrake on and full acceleration, the camera is not shaking and exhaust is not firing nitro, like in the "real" nitro in the game. And it should accelerate much faster like the real game nitro. But still great!

Actually, I think I used the same values for accelaration, but I could easily make it go faster.

Regarding handbrake, I don't think that would be real, as you are breaking, so I thought that this would stop accelaration.

Anyway, for everyone updated to patch 2 for EFLC, (and 7 for IV), the scripthook.dll has been updated:

For TLAD, you need to re-edit content.dat (no need to unencrypt the files), and you also need to recopy the wplf file from TBOGT to TLAD.

Of course not !

The offsets have been updated for Vanilla cars, as described in the readme.

That alone was a big task that took hours, considering there are over 150 vehicles. Supporting all the custom cars is simply impossible (at least for a free mod such as this one).

Would you be so kind to resize the image or leave it out, it messes up this thread.

Updated the mod, to include limit for nitro (in the same way as the game does, including nitro level idicator), of course this is optional, read the readme.

However, can you make the nitro key NOT assosiated with cinematic camera? I drive in Liberty City with the inside/hood camera and the nitro key (= cinematic camera) always turns on cinematic view, it is ridiculous. The other thing, can you make nitro turn on at a lower speeds? I love using nitro with slow cars such as APC, Firetruck or Bus, but takes a while until nitro can be used. Anyway, please update the nitro to costum key and keep up with the great work!

Well, if you use nitro the Cinematic cam doesnt pop up. You can use another key for nitro if u put the Cinematic Camera Key on some other buttons. Don't know what problem you have, cinematic cam doesnt enable.

I understand it's the same key as in the original game and it's cool, but whereas in original TBOGT, when there's nitro (in races), CapsLock only triggers the nitro but not the cinematic camera. In your mod, and I repeat, only in hood camera mode, CapsLock or whatever the cinematic camera key is, triggers BOTH the nitro and the cinematic camera. Can you add an option to the ini to use a different key than cinematic camera?

That's odd. I disable the cinematic camera, and I would assume it would be disabled regardless of whatever camera you would select.

If I have some time, I will look into this, and I migtht make it adjustable.

Edit:
It indeed does not disable cinematic camera in "hood camera view", which is strange, as I disable the button each tick smile.gif

The way around that is to bring up your phone !

This is a great mod thanks.

Having some problems, notepad or wordpad can't read the read me.

I don't know how to turn the nitro hud on either.

Try using Microsoft Word, or openoffice.

Anyway you could read the OP (the main post) here, it has the complete readme.

F9 to enable, ralt+t to enable limit, capslock to use.
